  1. Congratulations, he's a big boy at almost 9 pounds. Grandkids are much more fun than kids.

  2. Yep. Marinate the fish in the Miller, cook as desired and drink something better.

  3. I liked the Miller ad where the guy pulls a beer out of a cooler full of fish. And the punchline about great things going together

  9. I remember these coming out. I don't think the company lasted too long but a few groups, mostly West coast, used them. They weren't very durable for road use. At that point in time it was a lot of $$$ and they just couldn't do what a pair of LS did in the home or on the road. For the $$$ you could pick up a pair of raw birch and beat the crap outta them! LOVE my raw birch w/a couple lil beauty marks... Takes me "home" to my safe place! 😎

  10. I picked this album up a couple of months ago and glad I did A conceptual double album is beautifully put together that covers life from birth to grave Very underrated release from a great artist that I first heard in the early 70s Artist - Dan Fogleberg Title - The Innocent Age

  13. Except for times with the right company and NOT stranded. Still thinking about those bikinis.

  14. A fully stocked chef would be handy, or a butler to get you whatever you wanted. If you can have one thing, would the Swedish Bikini team count as one? In my shape I could starve for a few day for that. .

  15. Sounds like the guy is wanting it to be like the Khorn or Jube, about as close to a correct statement by him is large wooden horn, nothing else is anywhere close. That design only goes down to 50Hz, well that sucks. Wouldn't pay more that the drivers are worth, if I needed the drivers.

  16. If you are familiar with the Altec 9844 or Klipsch Jubilee, you know the benefit of dual 12" drivers in a curved front baffle Uh....not exactly at least as far as Jube is concerned. These low freq cabinets are like @jwc 's mini punch(I think that's what he called it) that GotHover WAS going to make kits for.

  18. Yes, of course I understand the cash only thing but given everything else you are correct, there were just a few too many red flags. If anyone else here on the forum is closer to Buckley Michigan, which again, is more than four hours north of me, you are certainly welcome to make contact and check them out. He may very well be legitimate, but just not know what he is dealing with…

  22. Good point. We weigh ourselves. And our button is bigger, and works better! Until the button is pushed? Just kidding. You are right, we may as well.

  23. Phantom center configurations are underrated. I think that's because salespeople and the companies producing processor chips keep drilling it into people that you somehow will get inferior sound without a dedicated dialogue channel, while it can cause timing issues if you have them too close together - from experience. Comb filtering is another issue I've wondered about in tight-fit setups. Good thoughts!

  24. I would try different placement options first. Move it around the room and play the same track until you find a sweet spot. I would aim more towards a corner. Also, I would set the crossover point at 80hz and go from there, bring it up a bit from the bottom of your mains, just makes them all happier. Has great reviews on Amazon. It's not a powerhouse sub, 150 watt rms, but ported with a 10 it should play reasonably well. Let us know what you find.

  27. The speakers you have are wonderful and should provide many years of great sound. This forum has some people that have thousands and thousands of dollars invested in their systems and this can come across a little “snobbish” at times. What you have in your system is already better than what 95% of the population is working with. You just happen to be dealing with some of the 5% that is chasing after a “sound” that they will never achieve. I have likely spent over $40k on Speakers, amps and receivers over the last 10 years and while I have wonderful sound now, it isn’t “night and day” better than the great F-3 Synergy 5.1 system that started me down this path of insanity. I also happen to be a gluten for punishment though. Don’t over analyze it and enjoy what you have. Just my two cents;)

  30. Yeah; wasn't going to pay $2000 Mostly wondering if it was worth an hour trip to check them out add-on: $2000 less $200 eBay fee less $300 shipping equals $1500. Maybe he'll take $1K ... need those like a hole in the head

  31. Grilles on those were wrapped around the motorboard and stapled to the rear side of it. Then the motorboard was NORMALLY screwed to the blocks in the front of the cabinet. The seal of the motorboard to the cabinet is not as solid as the ones from later where they were glued into the cabinet and Velcro was used to attach the grille cloth panel....but it was the common way to do things in the mid-1960's. I would just get an amp of some kind, or better yet, a receiver , and give them a listen....I am pretty sure your grandparents took good care of them from the one pic you posted, and they probably never overpowered anything so everything should still work fine. I am not sure, but I believe they will BASICALLY have the same network in them (E) as mine from 1978 have, EXCEPT for the polarity reversal having been done for one of the drivers (I am not sure which one, but I think it is the woofer) having been done...and that can be done with a screwdriver in five minutes. It is in the Dope from Hope stuff about the e-type network polarity change somewhere...circa end of 1960's/beginning of 1970's.

  37. The review was largely positive which certainly jibes w/ my own impressions of the Heresy III's. ..Still there's much about the review that annoys. It seems strange that one reviewer (Guttenberg) would tell another about to review a pair of speakers " (exclaiming) ..Those aren't audiophile speakers. Those are party speakers!" For one, what the hell does that that mean and why would "party" and "audiophile" being mutually exclusive? I'm an audiophile (of sorts) and I like music at parties, so...??? And two, how about one reviewer caring enough about his craft and enough about the reader to NOT taint a fellow reviewer with expectation bias by making such a strong and prejudicing statement? Wouldn't it be nice if reviewers were forced to share their initial judgements of speakers before knowing what they look like, their size, who makes them, what kind of drivers they employ or what has been said of them by other reviewers?? Perhaps hear them from behind a visually opaque but sonically transparent screen before being allowed to take them home for an extended listen? Do you think this would affect what we read? I sure believe so.. ...Hey, an audiophile can dream, can't he??

  38. the internet was correct, Klipsch discontinued the 10" drivers. They said the speaker from Midwest Speaker is a 1:1 clone on the factory Klipsch driver and is an excellent unit. I ordered a matched pair and also got the titanium upgrade for the horns as they were only $24 per. Thanks for all your help thus far, I will report back next week and give you guys a review.

  39. Love the dollies! Thankfully, I don’t have to regularly move my speakers. If I did, I’d build a set:) To get my Cornwall iii’s into positions are used these....

  41. What's your room like? Do you have pictures on the walls? Carpet on the floors? Lot's of furniture in the room? Your room will have the biggest influence on how the speakers sound and speaker placement will make all the difference. Are they up against the walls? How far are they from the side walls? Are there side walls? Etc...! BTW Congratulations on the new RF7-II's and welcome to the Family! [<)] Dennie
