It's called 'spin'. And those who twist facts 'spin doctors'. "What's bad is good, what's good is bad, you'll find out when you reach the top you're on the bottom" --Robet Zimmerman3 points

Now that sounds like a description of how politicians speak. These days the truth is what you can make it appear to be. Even facts are twisted3 points

It's been pretty hot in Texas this summer.... to make life easier, I moved the couch to the garage and laid out my cabinet project across the Den floor... nevertheless, Thursday morning around here starts out with my Dewalt flashlight and a Sprinkler head observation at 4:30, it seems to get chilly walking down the sidewalk to check the head's along the curb, The neighborhood HOA has the timer... and the trashcan has to be out by 7 - check, 2 cup's all done, coffee filter dumped, now, somehow, I need to get to work through the morning traffic, never a dull moment around here lol3 points

Room dependent. If you have proper corners with 4 ft walls from corners KHorns. Any less than above starts moving you to Cornwall’s. I had KHorns twice in either a tiny room or one w/o corners both examples sucked now I have Cornwall’s.3 points

I believe that's correct @mangofirst like already cut up melons, or nice looking romaine mixed with red-leaf and other salad stuff in a sealed bag. I take immunos to stay alive now. The stuff they pound into you before getting on THE list, then news articles since about folks getting sick from this, that and the other. What was it a couple weeks ago? dry cereals?? Wow! I look at some things with no gray areas at all, simply black and white, good and bad, yes or no.3 points

Nothing beats the Band. Got the latest pressing of the Last Waltz and giving it a spin. I have loved the Band ever since I found a cover of their song "The Night They Drove ol Dixie Down" by Joan Baez on one of my dads records. I am not sure about all of the people they brought on during the show but some of the rendentions of their songs where magical. Also got the newely released Metallica Master of Puppets box set. 3 LP's, 10 Cd's, 2 DVD's and a cassettee tape. A lot of live stuff on there to go through.2 points

I have moved dozens of speakers from small to MCM 1900's and for things like chorus, Cornwall, Fortes etc I simply put a blanket down and lay them on their backs on it. I put cushions of some sort between them and to the sides, whatever I have handy and will not mar veneer and this is usually lots of big bubbles bubble wrap and blankets. I have a full sized van so I do not worry about weather and I slide them all the way forward so sudden braking will not cause them to slam forward. If I have a lot of stuff and have to use a trailer to I make sure there is no rain in the forecast and do not pick up until bright sunny skies are there. You are going to damage them more loading and unloading and bringing them in and out of houses than transporting has been my experience. But then I have to move everything by myself most of the time so bring a helper if you don't have the muscle. Great choice by the way I like the Chorus over Cornwalls and Fortes any day.2 points

That's funny, I wonder if he sees himself or the trainer or both, something got him going. After watching the beginning again I think he's watching himself.2 points

Welcome to the Klipsch forum. I can see you are looking for a home theater system using Klipsch speakers and you don't want to pay a lot of money. I would suggest you start with the Left, Center and Right speakers, along with a nice Audio Video Receiver (AVR) to power them. Add a sub woofer for the lowest octaves if you have the money. What is your country, and what budget do you have? That will help in knowing what speakers to recommend, and what AVR is available in your country.2 points

Thanks YK for confirming what I thought, the larger drivers in the modern bookshelves are worth the additional cost. Thanks John, I haven’t seen a Forte/II come up yet in our local listings, only Heresy’s, but then I’ve really only begun looking. Thanks James, I’ll watch for Cornwall or Chorus to come up as well. Thankfully I’ve got a bit of time with all these suggestions too to watch for different listings to come up, as I’m not yet ready to make any quick decisions. & don’t need to thankfully. You’re right on the 2230 as well. Though I bought it “serviced”, I think it was cleaned & lights replaced, but no caps replaced. Thanks WVU for sharing such an awesome piece of info! I’ll go check my PM 7 check your spreadsheet. Thanks for the vote of confidence in the 2230 as well Jim. I’m in Calgary, Alberta. I do see there’s a garage sale section of the forum, so I’m not sure if there might be any members close by or not. Once again, thanks everybody for putting in to my thread. I’m getting a whole lot of love for the vintage stuff here. When I’m home after my hitch here in a week, I’ll have to do some measurements in our livingroom to see if I can fit in something more than a bookshelf speaker. There are 4 sets or so of Heresy’s now on Kijiji (1’s & II’s, and a few threads I’ve seen telling which ones to target, so will have to do some reading). Having said that, the right answer might be still to go new with the larger drivers in the bookshelves. My wife could use the bluetooth capabilities at least. I’d like to have a little more space to take the pressure off our livingroom, but even if I made a listening area in the rec room in the basement, it wouldn’t get used as much. The good tv is upstairs, the fireplace is upstairs, the comfy sofa, the dog’s bed. We’ll see. Please keep the opinions coming though, love to read them all! Thanks again for such an awesome welcome.2 points

Congrats on the Chorus II's. might be easier (and cheaper) just to rent a SUV ... $35 in Florida ... but might be a rip-off in your location2 points

Besides the above I will mention RAIN again. On the way to this year's meet in Hope I transported a pair of speakers that had been sold to a forum member. ZERO rain forecast. I had them wrapped in plastic wrap, moving blankets, strapped, tied...they weren't moving. I got to my Mom's place about 2 hours from Hope to hang out. Should I take the trouble to undo all that and put in garage? Check weather...zero rain; not worth the work. Bottom line it rained, water collected in truck bed and ruined the speakers. Forum buyer didn't get what he wanted and I gave them away to someone else (buyer had first right of freebies)2 points

If you like your svs speakers buy the matching center so they sound identical. If you use your outboard amp for the fronts you use the amp for the speakers full range, there is no real benefit to splitting that signal. Keep it simple and focused don't look at other brands of you already have 6 of 7 svs speakers and like them If you have the space a 3rd tower as the center is the best option1 point

Yes. SELDOMLY for short periods of time, but yes. I listen to much different music than most of you here. This is why I don't post in the music portions of this forum and why I chuckled at the 85 and under club on LA scalas (no offense to anyone and I completely understand the preservation of hearing). I just couldn't buy a Z06 corvette and drive it 35 mph or less 90% of the time.1 point

Do you have a spare mattress or a blow up one to throw in the back. Make sure they ride on some nice cush for the journey. How many sheets of styrofoam do you have? Also, bumps tend to be lessened when driving at speed, so keep your foot on the gas.1 point

I’d pull the horns and remove the drivers. Pretty sure they a accessible from the front. The horns are plastic and the driver mounts can break. Cover them well. You do not want the speakers to get wet. That will do bad things to the MDF. Good luck! Road trips to fetch new speakers are the best!1 point

Always chuckled at that scene. Her, not knowing what she was doing, could have caused their atoms to merge with that little leap. Everyone knows that when beaming, you stay on your own pad.1 point

For me the king of the crop octet is the western electric 350b... but an quad of those is gonna be about $3000. I am pretty darn happy with the psvane top tier kt88's... I never felt the need to step up to the kt120's. I've not tried el's as yet, but I have run kt66's which are good, but I preferred more output for the lowend of the 88's. I would like to try some of those Russians, but I really can't imagine them being better than the psvanes.1 point
