  2. Thanks Chuck. The first pic is the view from our condo. The next ones are the back yard of my brothers house which is about 20 minutes from here.

  3. Amateurs. Took me about 20 mins to clean this up. Big game to y'all I guess. Well I'm your huckleberry. @Westcoastdrums and @wstrickland1 you are not to post in this thread again. @Zen Traveler, saw your thoughts about how you feel.about the forum. You are on moderated posts until you can convince @CECAA850 or @Mallette.Mallette to take you off. Travis

  6. It's green here and back home in Beaumont. Plenty of rain both places. Grass is growing like crazy both here and there.

  7. Looks nice Carl(Chuck) especially at your brother’s place. Is the growth more green there than at home? My wife’s family from San Antonio came to Indy a few weeks ago and commented how everything looks green.

  8. I'm sorry I posted this, but I really like Dennis Prager's videos. Geez, and I though I was being politically neutral. I'm a Libertarian after all. I doubt that any with the harsh comments even watched it, which makes me care even less.

  10. Love it! I think I’m just subconsciously trying to devalue this situation so I don’t hate my self for the rest of my life by passing.

  11. Let me put this in perspective for you. 🤓 I bought my 1978 Khorns for $900. My wife hated them and I had to sell them. I sold them for $2500. That financed my next 5 Klipsch speakers and a Marantz 6011, with enough left over to buy my wife something nice. You're local, go pick these up before someone else does. Then get your wife something nice.

  12. Oh man, I wouldnt call those rough. With just a little work, they would look amazing.

  13. It's hard to find Khorns with the crappy AK-2 crossovers. Or maybe it's rare to find someone selling Khorns worth $2500 for $7,000.

  14. Yeah I know what you mean. Last night the wind was howling through the grove of trees on the ridge when the thunderstorm blew in. 🤩

  15. Very relaxing here. We're down by the water at the end of the peninsula behind my brothers house. Just saw a momma and baby manatee.

  16. Platter can just spin, tonearm can float in a path which maintains dead nuts overhang for the spot, ever tracing the perfect tangent from start to finish. But then I got to thinking, why use an arm at all? Just float a headshell and track the record exactly as the cutter did.

  18. Look at Seaton, JTR, and PSA for subs. They will blow all the klipsch and svs subs out of the water. This suggestion is based off you not wanting to build you own. Which would be a better bang for buck than anything if you have the capability.

  19. We enjoyed it as well. Glad you made it home safely and I will post my thoughts a bit later. Daylights burning and as we say in the mod world, cables are swinging and time to set a home.

  20. Vibraplane, they took SEM active isolation and made them for audio market. They were $2,500, I dont thimk rhey are around anymore. But you are in luck, the Swiss company AVI still makes them. They isolate below the HZ level. The best, of the best, passive isolation might get you to 10HZ. Here is a Carl Zeiss SEM sitting on one.

  21. Well done Schu!!! That is a beautiful watch! And that Grand Seiko is also a stunner! Great collection. I have a modest watch collection. I added a shot of my vintage Seiko's. The Seiko "Pogue" 6139 -6002, Seiko "Willard" 6105-8110, Seiko Turtle 6309-7049. I was a Navy Diver. Both the Willard and Turtle were tool watches in the truest sense. I typically didn't wear them when I dove surface supplied. Topside kept track of my time. They both keep surprisingly good time but when placed on the timeographer, show that they are long overdue for service. I got the Pouge in mid 70's because I thought it just looked cool and wore it more as a dress watch so it has survived the years unscathed. Oh, well those are my Seiko's. I sure do like yours. Thanks for starting this thread! Cheers

  24. As mentioned in my post, the Stanton used permanent magnets to float the turntable, using a spindle with a hardened needle point to keep it centered. Turning was achieved by a metal one inch or so protrusion about six inches in diameter that was powered by a 32 pole (as I recall) electromagnet with sequenced charges. Price was 98.00 with 681EEE. 26. I know how you feel 96 degrees here but the humidity is kind of low for us at 47% Yesterday the belts broke on the finishing mower, so while I had it apart I decided to repaint it. It was getting rusty. So I cleaned up the rust and loose paint and washed it to paint today. Well I went out and sprayed it with primer for the last couple of hours, and just came inside wet, If I would have thought I should have done it in the fall, I had to be careful not to drip sweat on it while painting, you think I would have learned by now, but no. The good part is it is drying very fast, I might be able to paint the topcoat this evening, I hope that primer slows down the rust.

  31. I see what you're saying. That makes sense. You should have no trouble moving that RC-64 II and it's worth some money. That can help defray the cost of the single RF-7 II. I think it will be hard to find a single RF-7. You might look for a pair then sell one. Edit: I just a quick and dirty check for RF-7 II in your area. There is nothing, not single, not pair. +++ Crazy Idea: Why not check with Cory @MetropolisLakeOutfitters and see what he has in an open box RF-7 III? His open box prices are crazy low, he might surprise you. Then use one OR BOTH of your current RF-7 II's as a center. Sell the RC-64.

  34. Put on my summer yardwork clothes at six this morning, that was nine hours ago. Not happening today, the care and feeding of my mother has gotten a lot more complicated, then had to run out and get supplies, then nurses for over an hour. In the middle I made dirty rice and blackeyes `cause the pot pies and frozen pizza have lost their allure. I'll make cornbread to go with the rest of it early tomorrow. Ate a whole cereal bowl (about two cups) full and I'm ruined... too heavy a brunch to get out in the heat now. 100 a little late today at 12:40. Got to trim all those darned bushes that I now hate and cut the yard so I can water it all to keep it from scorching by the weekend. Lots of water folks. Lots of water when it gets hot like this - even if you're not thirsty.

  35. I agree with most of the “significant” selections, but would replace #s 4, 5 & 11 with Dynaco A25, Bose 901 and VOTT, not necessarily in that order.
    1 point
  36. It seems like the VOTT should be on that list.

  38. Another car audio guy here. I remember meeting Richard Clark before he built his Grand National. He had a cadillac that sounded mighty fine. He was always an Alpine guy. For me it was mostly Soundstream and Precision Power. Shakey

  39. What do pharmaceutical companies and attorneys in Alabama want me to know? I've learned these two points from TV the last 20 years: 1) I need drugs to survive, period. Don't even try to get over a headache or pollen allergy without the products from pharmaceuticals. 2) I should bring a lawsuit against anybody and everybody that has stepped on my your toes, no question about it.
