  1. Just jumped in the local LP store, took a bite at "Exile on main street", "Its only rock and roll" and "Black and blue". Wanted to buy "Voodoo lounge" and "Tattoo you", but those were already sold. "Black and blue" seems ok on my setup, however after listening "Its only rock`nRoll", it seems a bit unlively. Did not have the time for listening the Exile. Comparing with some other LPs that I have, it appears that the engineer Miles Showell had it right when saying that improvements are likely to be heard in high and mid frequencies. My initial impressions confirm that.

  8. I have an N95 that I use for quick trips into a place. It's uncomfortable and hard to breathe through. For longer trips I use my P100 respirator (That pink/yellow mask they use in Breaking Bad) that I picked up a few years ago for cleaning out the chicken coop. Infinitely more comfortable to wear and breathe through, and people give me a wide berth like I'm some crazy prepper guy that's overreacting.

  11. Can´t get enough tonight .... Atlantis was founded in late summer 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravetz (keyboard) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians had previously played with the band Frumpy. The founding line-up also included guitarist Frank Diez and drummer Curt Cress (formerly with the band Emergency). After a few live gigs in Germany, the first LP was produced in the studios of Island Records in London, which was especially well received in the USA, where Rumpf's blues-oriented voice was appreciated. Diez and Cress left the band after the recordings. For a four week tour through England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meier joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg as drummer. After the tour they were replaced by Dieter Bornschlegel (formerly with the band Traumtorte) and Ringo Funk (formerly with Jeronimo), with whom the second LP It's Getting Better (1973) was recorded.

I started with Richie Havens " Connections " Electra Asylum Record 1979. His probably most famous song was the interpretation of Lamont Dozier's " Going Back to my Roots " simply great

  16. We moved to Mexico...tired of all the BS going on in the US, high taxes, and in general just to expensive to live when retired. Positives: $300 a year for property taxes electricity is around $50 a month water bill is about $20 for our bottled water about $20 for our city water Full coverage auto insurance on our 2013 van is $600 a year Phone bill for 2 cellphones $50 Cable internet $20 Netflix HD $10 Food is also cheaper if you shop around Bus fare is about 50 cents to go the full run on the bus Garbage pickup twice a week...free You can live off Social Security New Hospital just built 2 years ago New mall being built now, and another new theater Less than 1 hour to Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, HEB, and Best Buy, and a huge maal that has very high end merchandise Nice theater 10 minutes from our house, where movies are a couple of bucks for current movies in USA Theaters Radio Shack is by the theater 2 large grocery stores that are just like in the USA Liverpool which is like a Macys Exellent restaurants for not much money No AC required, no heater required either in our home due to weather of high 80s max usually, and nights gojng down to 40s average We have beautiful weather year round, and the people are very friendly Cons: Importing items is expensive 17%, plus we pay $1 a kilo to have it delivered to us from Texas. Internet sucks depending on where you live...2 block from our house is fiber internet...no idea when we will get it on our street. Gas price is about the same as California You can live as inexpensive as you like or as luxurious as you like here. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk

  17. They are VERY optimistic, either way a couple other big cities will outdo KC, Chicago usually sets the bar high for this. It's crazy, this is what people should be protesting about. But for everyone not selling drugs or in gangs, have a safe and fun 4th weekend.

  19. Did final assembly. Tuning questions are left. Have the DE10 at -4 dB down. Likely to live to -6 it’s a small room and I want to be able to listen for 2hrs at a time without fatigue. Ive ordered an exceptional Faital HF that I may roll in but I intend to having tuning set for each. The DCM50 is at 9,0... the LF is a bit muted. I will switch to 12,0 and re-Listen. My Guy tell me I’ll be at 12, -1 when all is said and done.

  21. Had to go to Home depot to get some wood to make the grandsons desk and stopped at the local gun/pawn shop to stock up a little more ammo and looked at a few guns while I was waiting to get waited on. Seen a nice Ruger American 9 mm he had, got some ammo and got back in the car and told the wife about it. She likes this stuff as much as she likes speakers, so she say's why didn't you get it. Told here you really want me to get it, she said yes if you like it and it holds more than the 6 like the revolver. So I went back in and got it, new toy, and it shoots really well, it has a red laser which she likes also. That's enough guns for a while, just ammo when the price is right.............unless a great deal pops up. https://www.ruger.com/products/rugerAmericanPistol/specSheets/8605.html

  23. It’s easier just to say, “my mask protects you from me, and yours protects me from you.” This is the case with general face coverings and surgical type masks. N95 and KN95 masks only work to directly protect you if they are properly fitted. I’ve seen some around here wearing them, and they’re so loose they aren’t getting any real level of protection.

  24. a lot depends on what you want. What do you consider necessary? Cultural opportunity, hospitals, quiet ....Do you like outdoor activities? Are you a city or country type? or wanna be. I am retired, out in the sticks. Cut wood for heat... have unreliable electricity, phone and net service...it's 40 miles to a supermarket. We have a general store, post office and bar... 5 churches 2] Baptist, a Catholic church, an all faiths and a Baha'i.. Prolly some Sun worshippers and Wiccahs and i within 15 miles of the Mexican border I wouldn't live anywhere else.

  32. If we're talking reasonably-priced, vintage tube integrated amps that play well with Klipsch, there are lots of Scott enthusiasts on here. The Eico HF-81 integrated also has its fans. Search the 2-channel forum for more information.

  34. Well, I am usually not so enthusiastic about many new pressings of old productions and therefore I always try to buy original pressings in near mint condition, even if they are more expensive than new pressings. These alleged "audiophile 180 gram" re-releases are for me just a marketing ploy to inspire young inexperienced vinyl newcomers.

  36. Mornin' All One of my favorite scenes from that movie The neighbors will know the wife is out today/tonight. She has to get another covid test before they do her other eye. She figures on coming home tomorrow... which is typical for her trips to Tucson. I can go to Tucson and be home in 3 hours. She visits her sis and kids and... she has family up there... me? I just don't care for city. Start wanting to turn around as soon as the traffic starts to thicken on the way in. Like when I see the interstate at the end of our road. I'm killing off the leftover coffee. SOP. We had a visitor last night. Not a tarantula. A tree frog. Not near as common as the toads [Spadefoot and ColoradoRiver toads] ... Still blows my mind to find amphibians in the desert. This frog was lucky I got him before the cats [was prolly the cats that got lucky]. It was bouncing all over the place. The toads are easy to catch. They aren't equipped to get away. This frog could jump and stick to vertical surfaces. Those CW IV on cl Phoenix got my attention. $3000. Don't think they would fit in the car. I have 37" between the wheel wells. MDF cabs are just a little too big to squeeze in there. The plywood LS just fit.

  39. We went from living in Oakland, working in San Francisco (few can afford to live there now) to retiring to Oregon. No Sales Tax -- so helpful in buying stuff. Weather not so bad, get to see snow a few days a year, fall colors. Beautiful sky and clouds, less pollution, thousands of migrating geese flying over, and (in a smallish city) deer dropping by to munch on our plants, as well as visitors of other kinds: many, many kinds of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, wild turkeys holding up traffic while they delicately cross the street, snakes (who are grateful for the rats), spiders (some pretty large), carpenter ants, and one cougar. Everything is green, green, green, with more shades than we knew existed. Nice houses twice as big at half the price! State Income tax higher in percentage, but on a retirement income .... Property tax higher in percentage, but property valued at a much lower figure than would a newly purchased home in California. The Left coast (naturally) and a ways inland is modernly Liberal (except for places like Medford), and the East is more Conservative. But the full range is nearly everywhere. Unbelievably friendly people. No talk of "Californicating Oregon." We vote by mail, or by drop box if we missed the deadline, and have for years and years. Every religious group one can imagine, mainline liberal Protestants and Catholics, a few conservative Evangelicals, Russian orthodox, Mormons, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, with what we call the Midnight Monks, who shop in saffron robes late at night at the local supermarket. Not as many cultural attractions as in the S.F. Bay Area, but where is there, outside of New York? We do have a little theater, another on campus, a symphony orchestra, artists and art fairs, old geezers in the demonstrations and on the picket lines, bookstores, etc., but little night life for young people. We talked with a neighbor, who had lived in Los Angeles, and we agreed that we rather miss the sound of gunfire at night.

  40. Not really. The idea is that public movement is transient, you’re just not standing in someone’s presence long enough to be at risk - so the masks aren’t really required (they aren’t doing much). But at work and many other places, where distance can’t be maintained, the masks work.

I fell off a ladder with a 5 gal bucket of mud dragging me across expanded metal. Dr was funning. I presented him with my arm. Sez, Whata ya want me to do, it hamburger? on the way there, the thermostat stuck closed on this damnable Pontiac Catalina. Idiot light came on... too bad. Dr first. Not my day Healed up OK.

  42. June gloom is late this year. Did not really start until about the last week in June. And now it continues. Overcast and misty in the morning. I drive through the clouds to get to work. Going to be the strangest Fourth of July weekend ever I reckon. Going to a co workers B'Day party on the 4th at least for a little while, we'll see how careful(or not) people are being and act accordingly. At least it's outdoors on a 2 acre "ranchito".
