  1. Interesting to see today that Gilmour pulled all of his & Floyd's stuff outta the USSR. That's an awful big message to send.

  2. Good news - either way it won't be wrong. I own the original RF7's and recently snagged a set of KLF-30's for my brother in law. Didn't get to A/B them side by side, but have listened to the RF7s for 20 plus years now, so very familiar with them. Spent some time with the KLF 30's recently. They are more rock and roll, very up front sound stage top to bottom - they are incredible! RF7s are a bit more laid back, not by much. Probably more versatile with HT. I would get the KLF 30's since they are hard to find. Give them a spin. You can always let them go and get the RF7 IIIs.

  5. The RF-7-III's are obviously much newer, have very well built and braced higher quality cabinets and the drivers / crossovers are also higher quality-- you are getting a lot with the higher costs. All that said the KLF-30's are no slouch and even in stock form they are really great speakers but one of the things that make them even greater is the ability to upgrade them to top notch levels if you're not afraid to do a bit of work on them. Bottom line for me is if you have the money for the RF-7-III's and want a hassle free plug and play new speaker I don't think you'd be disappointed going that route, especially if their primary use is home theater. Best way to tell for sure is buy both sets and try them out for yourself, if you get them at decent prices you can always sell the pair you don't want and get your money back.

  6. We hear you mate We have also been through the ringer but we had a fight with nature Country wide fires one year Floods this year And although it’s not to the same degree it sure feels the same - as the land affected is so huge with whole towns destroyed and tens of thousands affected So we help each other out and keep sane with a little musical diversion

  7. If I was in control of applying sanctions- this is what I would do List the people behind the push and apply the following Monetary sanctions for each individual and government interests 1 - for every week “7 days” the incursion lasts they incur 5 years each for each entity So 4 weeks will be a 20 year sanction for each individual Seizure of property held outside of Russia - to rebuild any housing and infrastructure damaged during the incursion And compensation for loss of life My theory is Stop them from making money Stop them living off the cash they have accumulated Stop them from replacing that cash for a period of time Use their money to rebuild what they have destroyed

  9. I'm currently disgusted by what is happening in the world: two of my three kids covid positive (mild symptoms, luckily) while nobody seems to care about covid anymore, skyrocketing energy prices with terrifying financial implications for the whole of Europe, and worst of all, a terrible war only 2000km away from my home, with intollerable human suffering. To me, listening to music now feels like being on the sinking Titanic while the orchestra keeps playing... 🤕

  10. @Mossy bottom yea, alllll of their stuff ages well. lol Pulled their new remaster out before I hit the Phoenix show and it sounded great. I actually neverr pulled out the original Hotel California to listen to. So the other day I pulled it and played it. Hands down the winner somehow. Although they did say when the remasters started that there will be some stuff left untouched. Don't sell your old stuff just yet!

  15. Looks interesting ^^^^^^^ Rear wheel on the rail and the front off or is it on the rail? Ya got the shortest distance to wherever you're going on the tracks! So many bike trails run the rails. Looks like a nice beefy ride right there. Won't be long and you'll be airing up the tires!

  16. Before I bought the Fortes, my wife was never overly impressed with any "improvements" I made to the audio system. Pretty much everything was, "that's nice, honey. I'm glad you like it. Call Dennis (brother-in-law) and tell him about it." Her reaction to the Fortes may not have been as enthusiastic as mine, but she really likes them and even said so without prompting.

  17. yes Hef loved his blondes and he definitely had a type. I have no clue what he wore to bed lol. also - he moved from Chicago many years ago - living in sunny Beverly Hills still has chilly mornings but nothing like those Chicago minus 10 degree mornings.

  18. thank you very much.photography is just one of my many passions. Its more than great camera gear and great lighting - its about making people feel good about themselvesl - their best - the great energy you create together - I find I can see the beauty in nature and thats the direction I take my work currently but who know where this journey will take me.

  19. It doesn't surprise me. Quite a bit of Pink Floyd's material addresses war, and how little it affects the generals, as in "Forward!" 'He cried from the rear, and the front rank died.'"

  25. Thanks Dave, I haven't listened to them too much in the last 10 years or more. But, Man! They are sounding so fresh, and this album is so well mixed and produced.. I bought this lip when it was first released, and it's still pretty quiet...no cracks and pops...I saw this tour as well...my one and only time😢

  27. I had the original RF-7s and KLF-30s. Of all the Klipsch I've had over the years I've always preferred the 3-way design over a 2-way design. The midrange horn adds quite a bit of dynamics and clarity to that essential section of sound.

  28. Unless the wire is 8g and 54.5" long all superior sonic ability is lost. Quote from famous audio engineer and designer Jeffrey Medwin who has extensive research done on this very topic.. They say wire in the upper midwest. They say whyuhh in New Jersey and they say waarr in the south. Which sounds better? ;D

  30. Hi Parlophone, Thanks for the kind words. I shot all of these pictures with one of my many Canon cameras. I was a pro photographer for many years and own all of my high end camera bodies and numerous Canon pro lenses. Each of the photos I have posted here were shot in natural light with the sun and various reflectors and my eyes. See the light be the light.

  35. Hugh sure did prefer the blonde girl next door (that didn't really live next door to anybody we ever met) look, didn't he? Although those are all beautiful women, I could see you wishing he would change up the shooting menu now and then. Did Hugh always wear silk PJs, or did he switch to flannel in the winter months? Not that I really care about another man's choice in sleepwear, but silk would be chilly on a Chicago February morning, wouldn't it? Great shots, BTW. Not all pretty girls are good models, but you capture them looking their very best.

  37. A few years ago I was speaking with a couple of Grammy award winning record producers. When I told them I wanted to start a studio featuring a tube console, they looked at me like I had two heads. "Why would you want to do that?" one of them said. I forgot my response, but it's because I like that sound. I later spoke with another hardware/software engineer at the same event, and we talked about tube consoles and sonic signatures. He was amazed that I could distinguish his father's tube console sound from the '60s on modern records. His response was "If you can hear that, you've got really good ears". I don't mind being the sonic oddball; it's just that it's normally done in person.

  40. That would be like buying that new Ferrari and pulling the motor trying to find 3 more horsepower. IMO; Spend a considerable amount of time with them before trying to improve them. Try a few different amp setups and room treatments.

  41. When I was a young man over forty years ago I heard Klipschorns in an audio store when a salesman dropped a needle on a Heart album and it sounded like they were in the room playing. I was amazed and still remember it like it happened yesterday. Klipsch is an experience you’ll never forget. Experiencing Klipsch will enlighten you. Hearing a Klipsch will change you forever.

  42. . I worked freelance but over the years also shot for a couple of nationally distributed magazines. Old School Rods and Car Culture Deluxe to name a couple. I shot a lot of vintage pinup and a lot of the top glam models for many years. I was the personal photographer for Hugh Hefners wife for a number of years and worked with a number of the top Playmates and adult film star actresses.
