Thinkin about grabbin some of Devin's stuff just haven't jumped yet. He's a whiz coming out w/new guitars so I've heard. As a matter of fact I think Joe wrote a song about him. Cables look great @AndreG. There I go again showing my age. 😂💪5 points

With the new cables and hooked to the Kenwood. I have to say: That amp and the speakers were made for each other – sounding saweet!! And a good one for a test-run, Devins latest live album. The only thing I gripe about is, that it´s too short. Two LPs, three songs per side max, run-outs are huge, I´m sure the concert was longer. Well, they picked the best there was.5 points

Those tiny little orange pumpkins are my stopping point on the hot pepper ladder. My fave is a ripe jalapeno.3 points

The guy that invented the Carolina Reaper has come out with a new pepper called Pepper X. It’s said to be 2 to 3 times hotter than the Carolina Reaper.3 points

Made into one of my sauces, it is a flavorful delight. Still hot, but not stupid. Stupid is people eating fresh super hot chiles right into their mouths.3 points

Thought of making so this week... price has jumped 50% used to be $12 for a 4 pack now $19 to $23. But still great cheap eats for fall and winter3 points

Sittin at 49 degrees here in Duckburg today. Indian summer rolling in next week w/temps up into the 70's for about a week then it'll all be down hill til spring. Blah. Actually thinking about settling it to watch some NFL w/the Clowns playing in Indy. Might even spin a few. Well, it's confirmed. The Browns break one for a TD in their first possession for the first time in a couple years.. Colts now have the ball and the Cleveland DE jumps the count and goes a yard into Indy's backfield then reloads. So Indy continues the play, throw the ball for a touchdown and ties the game up. 😂 Yea, it's now been OFFICIALLY confirmed. Indy just punted and some Indy dude catches the punt on the Cleveland 1 yard line? No one touched him just let him run. 😂 TV volume down and gonna give it the gas. People around here wonder why I don't like ANY team from Cleveland. Seriously? "The mistake by the lake." 😂3 points

I've been doing low carb for 6 weeks and dropped from 197 to 183. I'm 6'2". Yesterday I had a cheat day as I have been craving a roast beef wedge with lettuce, tomato, and white cheese. $14 but enough for 2 meals. I expected to gain a pound or two but delighted to see I was at 182.8 this morning. Lady friend suggested that I have not been eating enough and that has slowed my weight loss. She may be right. I use to keep something from a magazine on the door of the fridge that states "nothing tastes as good as slim feels". That said I'm making Osso Bucco chili for tonight😊3 points

Went and got a Covid test a couple weeks ago (I'm good) and they weighed me.....down another 13lbs for a total of 110lbs in 3 1/2 years. I also found out that my work boots weigh a whopping 10lbs by themselves. Time to put them on a diet as well.3 points

Most normal? Guess they weren't rookies @grasshopper. Spent a few hours looking at one loser of a house that was the nicest of them all.But an empty block across the street with a beach house hundreds of miles from the beach on 12 ft stilts told the story of that neighborhood. That one took a half hour. The not so nice one built in the mid 50s might work! The one that I'm shooting for has views that are worth twice as much as the price, especially now with the leaves really colorful. Will find out about that one early this week. Hope all of you are doing all right!3 points

I bought my Heresy IIs and initially came to realize, much like has been mentioned here and certainly by looking at the specs, that the Heresy just doesn't play low enough. I mean, most bookshelf speakers reach 50Hz so why can't my little beasts play deeper?! So I bought a subwwoofer and it clearly delivers that last, hidden octave. But then came my realization: I just don't play them loud enough. Once I reach the 70dB level, they clearly shine but most of the time I'm running them at background levels. While the floor/wall border reinforces the bass, it doesn't make them play lower. Recently, I shut off my subwoofer and despite having the Heresies connected to an 80Hz, 12dB/octave high pass passive crossover, they tickled the floor joists and sounded great playing jazz, live Grateful Dead (and I HATE The Dead!), folk, and rock. Yeah, if you want to run your home theater through ANY system you need a sub. Same goes if you want to play rap/techno at car stereo jammin' levels, but otherwise I've decided the Heresy is a fine speaker even by itself. I can only imagine the new, ported, Heresy IV is even better.2 points

In 2020 a collection of 16mm film was discovered of Tom Petty, capturing a prolific songwriting streak from 1993-95 making the album "Wildflowers" with producer Rick Rubin. Petty was known for being reclusive about his personal life and creative process. "Somewhere You Feel Free" is a candid and musically rich look into the legendary artist's creative genius. https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0CJXYVC3N/ref=atv_dp_share_cu_r2 points

boy gave me a good laugh ... Yesterday, someone gave him a Carolina Reaper ... and he ate it. it afflicted his stomach and today, he is wishing for a fudgesickle.... said it burned as much coming as going his machismo.... HaHaHa coincidentally ... on PBS, yesterday, they had a show on peppers. According to them, one Reaper is the same as 300 jalapenos.2 points

I own a pair of mis-matched LSI Splits, one came with the K-55-M / AL crossover and the other came stock with the soldered lug dual phase K-55-V / AA crossover. There has been discussion over the years, and still is on an “authorized vendor” site, that you cannot use the K-55-M with the AA crossover as it was not designed for it. The reasons originally proffered were the K-55-V rolls off sooner and has a dB less output at certain points in the frequency response curve. Well, the Klipsch FACTORY INSTALLED K-55-V dual phase driver in the La Scala Industrials using the AA crossover runs just as high as the K-55-M, and it turns out the frequency response results were based on test samples of the K-55-M that do not reflect final production units. It appears “the data on the Mig is inaccurate”.2 points
-
Nothing wrong with any of the 3 crossovers IMHO with those drivers. All would work and sound great. I like the AA's myself being simple with few parts.2 points
-
The K55m are good drivers. I’ve had all the different K55’s and really couldn’t tell much difference between them. AA crossover’s would work great for your application.2 points

So let´s talk about " Riesling " 😂 Riesling is a white grape and wine variety, which is counted among the highest quality and culture-defining plants. The best Rieslings are produced in climatically cooler wine-growing regions. The variety is mainly grown in Germany, but also in numerous other wine-growing countries. Riesling wines enjoy a high reputation on international markets. Many top vineyards in Germany as well as in other wine-growing countries are planted with Riesling. Especially in northern growing countries like Germany, the variety is grown almost exclusively on steep slopes. Riesling has been cultivated in Germany for more than 600 years.2 points

Love watching Adam Savage from Myth Busters do his thing. MeidasTouch comes in as a close second, for their legal analysis. After that anything to do with Cosmos, Science, Medical, Aviation. Sometimes Audio Gear but reviews are not subjective so what's the point?2 points

Just as an FYI--------------If you hate to cook, ketogenic/low carb is the easiest way to eat. I really have a NARROW shopping list. Meat, chicken thighs, eggs, butter, cheese, Ezekial 4:19 bread, and fresh berries. I cook up 6 chicken thighs a week in the toaster oven - takes one hour total. I bag (4) 1/4 pound patties of 85% ground beef into the freezer. I cut a large steak into 4 oz pieces. What's left to cook? Fried eggs, a plain burger (no buns!), a piece of steak. No need for messing with salads, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, noodles. etc. Eat one or two meals a day of this food and you will lose weight fast, feel strong, not hungry, and you will be protecting your liver and feeding your gut biome. All positive, hardly any work.1 point

I'm thinking mostly of the limitations. Sure, I have a nice tv on the wall, but any type of speakers would be waking up or disturbing any of the surrounding bedroom occupants. I don't do theaters unless I can listen at tactile levels, otherwise the tv speakers do just fine. I can't say I even use the main theater more than once a month now that we have 2 little ones. That'll change when they're much older, but until then the bedroom is for sleeping and shenanigans only. I don't really like laying down or sleeping to begin with I suppose. Ick, I'd rather be outside. It seems to sort of creepy to me to hold up in a bedroom during the day; like, "Hey kids, guess what we're doing, wink wink." Ew.1 point

Man, you got that right. The cost of materials is nill but the tooling and labor is what kills you. I've done plenty to make up for the cost of my tools but the first venture was an expensive one. I had a few in my garage but I slowly added the compressor, nailers, table saw, router (and bits, wow those are expensive), etc. The first project turned out to be a $300 enclosure that cost me $1500+. But tools sure are fun to play with.[]1 point

Actually that's the nature of the KSW-12. It's a bit of a boomy little box.1 point

Hmmm. I don't think that's the case at all. At least not in my experience. Use some basic design techniques, some basic construction skills and the right equipment...you've got yourself a winner. To be honest if you apply those principle you'll have a better quality and more potent product than 90% of what's out there...at a lesser cost.1 point
