  1. I've been watching a few Mary Spender videos where she does reviews, talks about monetizing your videos, interviews, etc. but she is, MAINLY a singer songwriter. However, this is a nice cover... Tobin's voice really fits this song.

  8. I remember Falstaff beer. Not in that type of bottle. My earliest recollection of beer bottles were long necks with a paper label and they gave you a "church key" when you bought a case. I have a Schlitz church key

  13. It was right around 24 years ago I was recovering from a neck operation and was dealing with issues with a set of Klipsch Computer speakers.... I wandered into this forum looking for support for those and stumbled into this 2 channel section......guys were in here "Mobile Homeless" and "Allan Songer" being a few of the most vocal talking about Klipsch and Tubes, which quickly peaked my interest since I learned basic tube electronics from helping my father work om WWW II ham radio gear, he refurbished, used and sold as a sideline from his normal home appliance business which I also worked with him on in my youth. So "Mobile Homeless" was keen on the lowly low quality parts EICO HF-81, "Allan Songer" was a fan of the HH Scott line of vintage amps for a decent build quality and awesome phono section. My father told me EICO brand test equipment was garbage...I quickly gravitated toward the better built and handsome looking Scott line of amplifiers. So, on eBay I bought a pristine condition 222C that the moron eBayer packed improperly so the face plate ended bent over in shipping. I forced him into a deep discount and kept it. Which led me to decide to see just what I could do to improve it. In steps "Mark Deeneen" of Juicy Music Audio and famed Paragon preamplifier of the 1970's which none of knew that was who he was at the time. He takes me under his magical electronics wing! Teaches me most of what I know about tube audio! All the while "Mobile Homeless" obviously feels threatened a resident "tube guy" of the forum! Those 2 proceed to fight for my musical sole LOL!!! Man were those days a riot around here... All the while folks were watching as a reported what I was doing to the 222C... I started getting asked "would you do one for me". I did a few for the part and shipping cost no labor or profit. It mushroomed out my control! I was released back to work (home improvement contractor) and still did the refurbing for profit as a part time thing for about a year! Then I had a recurring neck problem and was told by the Neurosurgeon that I needed to stop working over my head or with any vibrating power tools. I talked with my wife and decided to take the leap and turn my new hobby business into my new full-time business! Man did that work out great! So fast forward 24 years I have become forced into semi-retirement from what seems like never ending nagging health issues to the point I have not taken in new work in 4 years! At 62 I was approved for Federal SS disability in 7 weeks without even seeing a doctor because my health records were that bad in 2021... including lung issue from smoking for years but had quit and sucking solder fumes for 20+ years. Here I am recovering from Total Knee replacement surgery my nagging health issues have stabilized from good health care providers! I design a ventilation system for my shop and I'm back here offering my services starting two months from now. Isn't it strange how things come full circle in life sometimes! Cheers Craig www.nosvalves.com PS forgot one detail I damn near died at home with COVID in 2020 of course it found my weak spot those lungs! But I'm a stubborn Bxxxxxxx In 2016 it was the Flu that almost got me...7 days in the hospital...

  14. Purchased a pair of Klf-20's. Mid compression driver was in the bottom of the cabinet. Threads were broken off in the horn lens. Removed the broken threads from the horn and screwed the driver back into the horn. In need of the complete plastic part with threads and the orange gasket so it is threaded in the right distance. Does anyone have one or have a part number so I can search? Only part needed to complete my restoration. Thanks in advance!

  15. It’s difficult to get the perfect placement with a set of Klipschorns , but if you can , you’ll be cooking with gas . Lascala offers flexibility in their placement , obviously this is important, and this makes Lascala the easy choice in many situations .But Which one is better? It’s likely the one with the least compromise on placement . What about One vs. the other with a good subwoofer? Both will benefit with a good subwoofer , so either speaker with an added subwoofer will surpass the other in low bass output.

  22. Mine are done, too. Put them up 2 years ago. Never took them down. Just strings of lights in the trees. They are on every night ... all night. The cold wet passed. A couple days of sub 60 highs. Mid 70's this coming week. I've been splitting wood .. again, still. poco poco. Work a little. Rest a lot. The knots don't make it any easier. The wood is starting to check. That helps a little.

  25. You are too funny. Love the attitude, Chief. Great comments. DIY Amateurs like me are much faster than people who have to do it for a living at adopting old or new designs and concepts, like having horn loaded bass below 40-100 Hz.cutoffs of Main speakers, stretching down to 16-70 Hz. range. Creating and selling the concept of low distortion sub bass can only be done in a Demonstration. A picture may be worth a thousand words (I've done millions of pictures too), but nothing beats Live, 3D, and in Color Audio Demos to willing ears. People literally have to FEEL it. Lots of bassheads out there, but most would never do it with a horn like you have done for quite a while. They have mostly done bass reflex only, ant NOT horns with it. How small you have managed to make these is quite a feat of engineering. Glad to see you are showing off the "kids." I wasn't trying to make any claims at doing it sooner than Klipsch (and you know that), I was speaking of my early adoption of horn sub bass below my all horn systems and having discovered it's benefits vs. the bass reflex units I had behind my MWMs in 2007 after I was influenced by you like the others here to sell off my 30 year old Khorns and get with the PRO stuff instead. The idea of upgrading to horn subs for JohnA just got a thumbs up from me, which was my intent, without have to make another trip to Hope (efficiency of travel budget?), since I had the same vmps subs as my very first pair to experience HT in it's relative infancy. Rock on my brutha from a different mutha (in my best Detroit vernacular).

  27. Thanks to all you folks for the information, it’s got me pretty excited about the forthcoming subs and the knowledge and your shared experience at sub fest have answered most of my questions. I will definitely buying one if not two of the “large” subs (gotta find a wall stretcher first) 😁. I’m hoping when the time comes I can have Mr. Delgado sign my subs like he did my Scala’s. 32. Because they are losing mostly. That is not near the defense without him. The front office will cut and kick him or any other player to the curb as soon as they think ability has downgraded. Right now he is the best, he should hold out for every last penny. Take the year off, save your body. If KC doesn't want to pay, let the next team step up. Lets talk money a minute. Chris Jones set to make $20 million playing football this season. Aaron Donald set to make $30 million. Should Jones be paid what AD is making? You better believe it. So a new contract with expected raise covers these game fines anyway. When asked about the fines on Twitter, CJ said "I can afford it". 🤣

  35. Hello, my Klipsch 4.1's developed this problem about a year ago following a power outage where they will not come on unless disconnected from the wall outlet for a few days. Recently they have gotten worse and won't power up unless unplugged for a week at a time. These symtoms are not unlike a power supply on its last legs, but I'm hoping this is not the case here. Any suggestions to get me on the right track would be appreciated. BTW, my warranty has expired so I'll be doing any repairs with my own hands if possible.

  37. quote: I'd be careful of taking potshots at people - you never know who might be listening. As it is, let me caution you to NOT put words in my mouth. I'm not putting words in anyones mouth. Instead I'm trying to shed some light on these fruitless comments and expose you for the biased fraud you are. You did type the following tidbit didn't you? quote: there is no horn-loaded speaker in existence that can accurately reproduce silky highs and a detailed and well-imaged soundstage. Horns, even the hybrid horns that Klipsch chose to use in their satellites, shoot sound at you with all the finesse of a rocket launcher If that wasn't an outright condemnation of horns in general I don't know what is. Apparently your sole basis for this argument is merely auditions limited to the horn loaded Promedia's and reference series, and internet propaganda. As they say in the audio world if you haven't heard it your opinion don't mean **** . quote: in the face of Martin Logan and even ProAc, Klipsch's home line doesn't fare too well when drawing a detailed jazz soundstage. As an example, go listen to a set of RB-5 IIs playing Miles Davis or Boney James and then listen to the same track on one of the ProAc Tablette series - the difference in placement is unmistakable. Lets try to keep a level playing field. You're making comparisons to much more upscale products. Taken for what they are the RB5's image very well. quote: It doesn't appear that you've experienced too many multimedia systems then. How can I say this? Because I own one of the proofs that what you're saying isn't at all the case (the Monsoon MH-505s). Go out and actually properly audition some of the other alternatives and you'll have some first hand experience to work with. As I'll reiterate for the final time (because apparently yourself and Gluegun are suffering from a bout of amnesia), I've heard most of the Monsoon line (505, 702, 1000, 2000) under conditions as ideal as they're going to get in a department store, and was less than thrilled with the final result. The crossover isn't smooth. I was able to localize lower midrange and upper/midbass from the sub. This wasn't so obvious when keeping everything on the same shelf, but the loss of bass imaging was. When the subwoofer was placed on the floor the changeover was disparaging. The sats sounded spaced out and thin, lending an exaggerated image to everything. The 702, 1000, and 2000's midrange was dreadful - sharp and wiry. Even some of those pricy Martin Logans have trouble integrating the cone box woofers with their electrostatic transducers! I have nothing personally against Monsoon, I'm only describing what I hear. Frankly I'm not impressed with the musical performance of any PC speaker I've heard (note this doesn't include Videologic's or Swans). To incessantly rag on the Klipsch's flaws and turn a blind eye to the others is narrow minded and immature. quote: "The fact that you sit a few feet away makes a transparent soundstage impossible." In a word: Nonsense! You're living in a bubble if you think you'll get realistic imaging in a desktop environment. First off the speakers are too close to the wall, decreasing soundstage depth. Second the close proximity of the speakers to each other diminishes soundstage width. Ideal placement is at least 6 feet apart - try doing that on your computer desk. Then you literally sit on top of the damn things cheating yourself of holographic imaging that floats beyond the speakers and into the room itself. 38. If you read the quotes carefully he (Roj) is attacking horn speakers in general. This I find particularly offensive considering his (admitted) lack of experience with said speakers. That's what I'm taking issue with here. Some people expect way too much of crap box plastic $200 computer speakers with 120-200'ish crossovers. If I wanted audiophile sound on my PC I'd spend $2500-$3000 and do it right.

  40. The Logitech sub is most definitely not tighter than the Promedia 4.1 sub. I had the chance to listen to them both and the Klipsch had it over the Logitech save for outright exaggeration ability. I also had a problem with the tweeterless Z560, they simply don't soar as high or as open. If you have high frequency hearing loss they may be adequate.
