  6. I have a yeast dough coffee cake rising right now. Wife was playing Santa last night. Wrapping gifts all over the livingroom floor. The cats were helping her. I didn't go shopping this year. Wife did. I will get to be surprised at what I got for her. LOL

  10. Very Merry Christmas to EVERYONE here. I must also include a thank you to everyone here, for being such a great community, for keeping my spirits up during such a hard year, as many here have had as well. As I celebrate the birth of the Savior I do so knowing that I am not alone, or forgotten, and that is how I praise the Savior for showing me a community I find endearing. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL HERE! and thank you Tim

  21. Ah, so it's still the AL-5 in the US? The La Scala III name makes more sense to me, since the AL-5 "name" sounds like a factory designation for a prototype, while La Scala III sounds like a fully developed member of the Heritage family. What do you think?

  23. I'm liking the sound more and more and my initial complaints are slowly vanishing... But I think my final verdict I will deliver only after I have both the Cornwalls and La Scalas set up in different rooms. I'll be playing with them on a daily basis so really can compare much better! Right now there is no way to do an A/B test

  24. Don't set a price and buy accordingly. Instead, decide which receiver you really want, and if you don't have enough money right now, just keep putting some into your Audio Buying Account every payday until it's all there. Then you'll have what you really want in the first place, and can sit back and enjoy your music without any pesky thoughts about the hassle of trading up model by model, losing money every time. Getting the unit you want in the first place means more time listening to better sound. Isn't that the best? That might sound odd, but having a separate account (in your bank, in your sock, under the mattress) for your audio stuff is how you can have the cash to jump on bargains when you spot them, and gives you bargaining power, because cash is always king, unless your cards have a big limit and you can pay off the balance in a month or two. Brand-wise, Onkyo have a name for running hot, which may shorten their life. I've always had good results with Yamaha gear, and I hear good things about Marantz.

  27. Not really sure about that Paul. I could tether from my phone but I would quickly surpass my allowance for that because it's separate from regular usage. I'm just about positive I'm at least two or three updates behind. If microsoft lets me open it up to use it, I better keep it open until I can update it!

  29. No Sir I´m not the King of Carts , I´m just a littel old guy cart maniac. I´m member of the german analogue audio association. Close to 17.000 Members, it´s about vintage to present analogue audiotechnology for TT´s, Cartridges, R2R, Tuner, Tapedeck, etc. pp. There´re members who own a cartridge collection which has value of approx. 150 K€ , but even these guys a quiet smart and aren´t arrogant or something similar. Last autum they made an event in a hotel andintroduced their private gear to let the members listen to , the top class set up was worth one million € . So as I toldyou .....😉

  35. I put up thick blackout curtains behind me in my basement theater. It made a huge difference in improving the overall sound. That said, I’m curious why so many random topics like this are being posted in this section that is designated for discussing personal music systems like Bluetooth speakers.

  36. ***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** Daniel is exactly the OPPOSITE of what I implied in my post above. To rectify the situation, he went out of his way to make it right TODAY. Amazing. I can wholeheartedly say deal with him in confidence. If I needed the Heresy's, I would gladly buy them from Daniel.

  40. Merry Christmas for all of You too! @Full Range @Dave1291 @MicroMara @JohnJ @GWSmith @Tim Sr. @MeloManiac @billybob As You may know, we had a nasty storm here for the past three days, yesterday a little snow. Snow didn´t last long and is now replaced by perpetual rain. Doesn´t look like white Christmas (again)... Too warm... But, it´s the right weather for spinning and having good food! Stay healthy, all of You!
