JohnA
duder1982- Great game. Do you want the goop? I was just getting on to post. That was a heck of a game, I don't know what goop is. I read your last post, sure, I can you a good vinyl cleaner, but don't worry about it as we never really made the bet, we'll call it a gentleman's bet. I did google goop and came up with this. http://goop.com/ So if you have Gwen Paltrow, I will take her. If you take her, you'll have to talk to her.

JohnA
I got a Tiny Joy in my email, yesterday and it mentioned Turkish coffee. Hmmmm. I then decided I *needed* a backpack/survival stove, to make Turkish Coffee and an Ibrik, or facsimile, to make it in. So I went to Gander Mtn and didn't like what I found and finally Wal-mart and brought this home. Turkish coffee is interesting and I like it! Four rounded tablespoons per cup of water, add 3-ish teaspoons of sugar, heat until it foams up 3 times and decant slowly. I think the Ibrik should be a Christmas hint. What (or who) got cleaned out with Oxyclean? Ahh, i see my statement could be read in yet another way. We here on the CCC thread have blogged about how we clean our coffee makers. I have discovered trying many things over the years, for SS coffee maker that of the Perkin type, a good heaping tablespoon of Oxyclean every two or three weeks keeps it brand new, and a couple good rinses.

Tarheel
Yes JL happy Veteran's Day and thank you for your service. A beautiful day here to celebrate. Got in a bike ride yesterday thanks to Jake. He wandered off exploring without permission. Got on my bike and found him in the neighborhood. Escorted him back. So while the bike was out the LF and I took a ride. LF playing tennis and going to a Veteran's Day tribute in her community. Her father was aboard a landing craft at Normandy.....in the second wave. When I consider that......I picture the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan. I am not a veteran but wondering who on the CC&C thread is. Cheers Ladies and Gents.....and please thank a Veteran.....today in particular.

ChuckAb3
Happy Veterans Day to all the vets. I'm not a vet either but deeply grateful. My son-in-law did 2 tours in Iraq and is currently stationed in Germany as a Staff Seargent. The Weather Witch was right ... we got about 3 inches of snow last night. Much more in the mountains and foothills. Should be a good ski season at this rate. Our area is supposed to be back up in the 50s or 60s. by Saturday. Try to check back .....later.....
Moderators dtel's wife Posted November 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Happy Veterans' Day to all who served and a huge thank you. Made it to Bodcaw, AR around 6 pm yesterday. Had an informal meeting with Roy and Rodney, involving a little tequila and Fireball whiskey. Lots of surprises planned for April's Pilgrimage! Rodney is making good progress on his planned improvements which include building the road in higher. Could have used four wheel drive to get in yesterday. This is our current situation.
