Deang
I know what causes it, but curious if it’s something of concern with a horn loaded K-33.

Schu
what causes it? because if it's excursion fatigue, a horn loaded unit with have less of that would it not?

I would say NO based on the fact that we never seem to see reports of cone/coil rubbing even on 40 year old units. miketn 1
muel
I just flip it over every 40 years just in case. 2
OO1
the cone/spider/VC are centered , otherwise the VC would rub , and you cant fix a rubbing VC or sagging woofer by spinning the cone 180 degrees .

Jim Hunter, in Ask the Historian, would have a direct experience/knowledge about this. Do you want me to move it over there?

richieb
As I get older I worry more about other things sagging than my LS woofers - 1
Deang
Per Roy, “If the woofer uses light weight cones and the spider is not too soft, there is no need to rotate your woofer.” 3

mark1101
When I installed the new JEM caps in my cornwalls I remounted the woofers using T-nuts from the front of the cabinets. All the bolts were loose and stripped and just in the wood. They are original woofers from 1973 and still sound really good. I may have done a rotation previously once but I can't remember. Maybe a good idea for a K33 that old?

rebuy
If you rotate the Woofers, won't the sound be upside down?
