Not sure what your budget is, but a pristine pair can be had on the used market for between $3,200-$3,500. Or consider a pair of forte or forte II pristine for about $1,500.00 a pair or less. -

Have you swapped the Heresy’s left and right? It’s possible the other speaker you tried isn’t presenting the same load on the amp. It’s not completely unheard of for there to be an issue with the solder joints at the input jacks or elsewhere on the crossover. -
I would love to go with the Forte IV, but haven’t seen any that are near my budget. -

Ditto. forte IV. Do you think your living environment will change over the next few years? The forte IV will grow with you. Believe it or not actually a smaller footprint than the Heresy yet will compete with a Cornwall in just about any environment. -

In my view, the new smaller room speaks even more in favour of the Heresy. It's a shame that you can't test both types. But you're on the safe side with the Heresy. You quickly get used to more or less full-bodied sound, but I suspect that the Heresy reveals more musical information and less overlay. At least my experience with large speakers in small to medium-sized rooms is not very good. It is also possible that due to its size, the Cornwall transmits more structure-borne sound through the walls, which can cause the neighbours to hear it even if you are listening to soft music.
