  1. Breakfast with a friend. The usual 2 om, bacon, potatoes. Walked Jake and now to pull out the pressure washer and clean up the front porch. Going to an event at the beach at 6:00 to howl at the moon. But tomorrow a flight attendant from SC is planning to come see me. We have already discussed the menu........her Cheers Gents

  3. I enjoy one Angry Orchard or perhaps two, but like all things apple, too much can negatively impact the ol' G.I. track. In other words if you have more than 3 better have another set of underoo's on hand just in case.

  4. X3 or X5 maybe? My wife had an X3 loaner during the 6 week wiring repair. We really liked it. As a matter of fact, it was the best handling/feeling driving experience I've ever had in a downpour (which we get frequently). They're very sure footed. Not to bring this thread of topic, I'm sure the BMW's are full of cables and we actually drank coffee in it on more than one occasion

  7. Why not give him to the military and have him dropped where ever there dropping bombs ? I know that's cold but so is war or whatever they call it now, stick some explosives to him and blow him up at a few thousand feet................guess it's why they don't let people like me plan these things ?

  9. I have as much problem with the jerky, smart a** comments the OP made in the other thread as I do anything. It's the general absence of guys like that which make me willing to participate in this forum.

  10. I recommend NO ONE buy The Lagavulin without trying it in a pub first, (Max) Peaty taste, kind of aquired over time.

  12. I was paid for the beetle restoration with this, and I keep at the shop. I have no clue what Tim paid for it, but I bet a lot! Top notch! Can I say that? At home, I have been enjoying a nice single malt: This stuff is around $35 / bottle. A great value for a very fine whiskey! I have enjoyed several bottles.

  13. The Belvenie - Aged 30yrs. Typically in very small quantities and special occasions. Agree on the Hard Cider, it was a nice change from beer and great for fall. VT has a lot of hard cider makers and the offerings are excellent!

  15. I think BMW must be monitoring this forum ... the dealer just called and asked what my intentions are with my car. They say they want it for their pre-owned vehicle lot (code for we want you to buy a new one). They'll have to make me a fantastic deal ... probably too fantastic for them to even think of offering.

  18. Having worked in the health care industry the new and non treatable diseases are some of the most scary things. My nephew has cancer, and getting chemo. He got sick and had to go the the hospital for 3 days. While there he developed MRSA which is one of risks of going to the hospital. To many of the diseases have developed resistance to the treatments we have to fight them. I have fears that if mankind does not destroy itself, the microbes and viruses will. Good vibes sent to your nephew. I hope all goes well.

  22. If you have a small car, out of the box in the front seat... It'll go! If you get it, let us know your thoughts. Buying new gear is one of the only thing that prompts me to sell some of the extra. How can she complain if you get one thing, but sell two?

  32. its all good. its great that I work on a shift that turns a blind eye that I spent all day working wearing one steel toe shoe, and one sandal! I woke today with basically no pain, so all is well! and yes, he is very new at his job. I still have perfect attendance, and the only way I will mess that up is for family, or the farm.

  33. Well, you definitely live in the land of deceit, in most of your posts in this thread. You started this thread in deceit . . . just not cool. Totally unnecessary, and lacks community integrity--antithetical to the community camaraderie this forum is built upon.In your CL ads, you write: "Wish I did not have to give them up but I am moving and don't have room for these at the new house. $1000. I am located in NW Arkansas but drive to Tulsa quite often so bringing these to any interested parties would not be a problem." More deceit in your CL ad; again, simply not necessary. We have your number, sb001, both figuratively and literally. I will take the liberty of quoting your current public domain CL ads again, their ownership confirmed by you in this thread already: "Please call or text 479-four zero nine . . . " Here is your reading tip of the day: http://www.wordreference.com/definition/deceit GLWS . . . you are going to need it.

  36. My time around pawn shops has ensured me no shop ever ONLY asks for double what they gave -- triple or quadruple more like it What's in it for me? Yep. Come on over to Decatur- and find out it's a town with a population of 203, one cafe, one bank, and ZERO pawn shops. You'll note however the craigslist ad says Tulsa. Can't blame me for seeing if there's any local interest at $1000, where I could buy the speakers turn around a flip them and make a cool few hundred. As the OP, you have the privilege to do so unless someone quotes you. Best wishes with your sale............

  37. Wouldn't it be something if you walked into a Magnolia or some other store and they had KPT speakers setup in a high-end HT? The slogan could be "Bring the real Cinema to you".

  38. The codes are only a piece of the puzzle. It's the data logging, both memory and in real time, that are useful at getting to root cause. Codes are just general information on where the problem may lie, data can often help but most would not know what they were looking at anyways. I spent 2-3 months out of the year in GM training school just to keep up with yearly changes. Think the backyard mechanic could get by with limited or no training ? I think not. Watching sensor data in real time shows what the engine and emission systems are doing. It can help in some situations. The ECM processing hardware alone (sensors, harnessing, ECMs, etc) add about $3K to the cost of a vehicle. Not to mention most of these parts are OEM only. I'd like to have access to it since I paid for it. You pay for the vehicle but manufactures do not want weekend mechanics working on their own vehicles. I don't make the rules but i agree more harm than good can be done by a uneducated tinkerer.

  39. Some cars can access the codes & much more information by way of dashboard cluster or info screen but most would not know what to do with the code and end up just throwing parts at it anyways.

  40. Going to go out and just say it, what a clown......... All of that and not even room for another person to sit, not one friend of partner who may want to share ? Wires lifted by wooden blocks, your own wires are no good touching the carpet George ? A turntable that looks like something broken off the mars shuttle and a Lp that's warped and moving up and down. And be sure to hold the dog for the video and close your eyes and think how impressed you are. SORRY I feel better now, this is what I get for reading those stupid websites with reviewers pushing BS "improvements" like $40 receptacles and special cover plates, oil rubbed rosewood wire lifters, if your setup is to the point that this is your last improvement, congratulations, but I need to stay away from this level of silliness. Anyway he obviously needs more lifters there sagging to much in between, it will create lulls in the signal, only makes sense really, you would think George would know that ? Edit............thought someone would have shot me in the back side for this by now........
