  6. Ok, THAT is ridicules !!! What looks like a whole chicken !?!? All right 1.5 hours of cleaning off two SUV's, our walks front and back, a path out to my bird feeders ( which are now topped off ) and the driveway. Included is the hydrant across the way, and the huge snow banks to the right and left of our drive entry for the trash and recycles... Thank you city plows.... End of rant, showered and now time for some dinner, WHEW !! Enjoy your evening (0; .....gw

  9. Well if nothing else you sure are regular, every Tuesday. I kind of got use to the almost crunchy bits of the last cup I hate when I take that last sip and forget it was the end of a pot.

I think I want something between his and yours, OK to start remove the whole chicken and replace it with one more of whatever that is wrapped in bacon ? That's crazy, but I'd try it

  12. Brewing is fun, but you have to be very diligent about sanitation. Unless you are brewing an open wild yeast Belgium brew, which I doubt most of us could do, boil the hell out of everything that will come into contact with the beer, prior, in between, bottling etc. If you can't do that don't bother. Try doing a wheat beer. My first batch of wheat made my teeth numb! Oh, another thing, forget the recipes that came with the kit. Go get yourself a good basic book from a brew store and use their recipes.

  15. Not their final location, they sound fantastic. They are in better shape than I thought, they look brand new. These will go down in the basement at some point, I cannot believe how big they are next to my KLFs.

  19. No problem at all, the great thing about this amp is if you buy it and find the phono does not suit you tastes you will resell and loose ZERO $$$ In fact I will promise to buy it off you for the 675.00 (if you sell it, which I doubt) you only have to wait for me to get settled with my injury issue

  21. So I have had my way with these gals the last few days. I am ready to give them a bit of a review… Let me start off by saying that I am new to the Horn Loaded bass world. It started back in August with the completion of my THT folded subwoofer. The whole reason I built it is because I had never heard one. I was very impressed and the research I did was absolutely true in the fact that the sound from a Horn Loaded Woofer is superior to that of a direct radiator. This led me to believe that I needed to go with a fully horn loaded speaker. Until this past weekend I had never heard a Belle, or a LaScala, or a Khorn. All my Klipsch experience had been with the KG series, the KLFs and the Cornwall. So I now have these Belles downstairs where the Cornwalls were sitting. They are hooked to my Sunfire Amp, with the THT pulling in the sub 60 frequencies. I listened to Michel Jackson’s Thriller on DSD and the bass is indescribable. It is so tight and so in your stomach it feels like butterflies, like when I get nervous or anxious. I have never heard anything like it. It is like the bass is hard and hitting like a bat right to the gut. I can completely understand the statement that these are a little anemic in the bass, they are… the deep bass anyway, but coupled to a THT sub allowing the Belle to do what it does best the mid bass, they are spectacular. I have swapped in my ALK Cornscala-wall networks for a trial to see how they sound. The stock AA do need some updating, but I may go the 2-way with a digital crossover route. The ALK has brought them to a new level, Al provided some advice on the attenuation of the drivers, and so far he is right on with his settings. (Love the accessibility of the Belle) So in summary, these have fulfilled my needs and I am 100% happy with the bass and sub bass my system has. I believe it to be jaw dropping. If you have a LaScala or a Belle, get a THT to go with them it really is the missing link/octave. I think it is an unfair expectation for these Heritage speakers to go that low and do it correctly. Even the CWs benefited from the sub. I have a few sounds/noises within the these Belles that I don’t hear in my CWs, I’ll have to spend some time with them and see if I can figure out what it is. It might be a wire vibrating, or loose mounting screw, who knows, it is very subtle. Fortunately I have 4 of everything now and can swap drivers around pretty easily until I can figure it out. So far I am the only one to hear it. I also noticed a bunch of casting and irregularities in the mouth of the horn from the manufacturing process. It’s not even close to being round in there so I’ll rasp these out to be round as well, I know it made a difference on my CWs. Anyway I am in audio bliss now and for the first time in 38 years completely happy with how my system reproduces the Kick drum, in fact the whole drum kit…

  22. Chris, That network looks like hell. Please destroy it before someone goes blind from looking at it. I asked John Warren to model this mod, and to create some plots for me using a microphone. Btw, this is still first order electrical. Seriously, all we are doing here is adding some series resistance and accelerating the roll-off a bit. The effect on phase is minimal. It's simple and effective - you are the first that I'm aware of to complain about it. Still, you know your stuff, so I certainly don't want to give the impression that I'm discounting your opinion.

  27. Fury: Brad Pit and the rest of the tank crew were excellent. This was based on a true story and very realistic. I usually don't like a lot of war movies but, this movie get's you into the characters and their plight. This will be added to my collection! Good constant bass and rumble using the shakers. I will rewatch this one with just the subs when I get the movie next month when it goes on sale at the local video store.

  34. I was just saying yesterday while we were getting slammed all day with snow and winds, "some folks are sitting around in shorts and bare feet". I'm not staying here the rest of my life. 3 degrees this morning. -9 Wednesday. Right there with you Gary, all though looks like your ahead of me, already moving to vino. Up late last night doing some clearing with my tractor and loader. Still working on my last cup...black...out of H&H. That's o.k., it goes good with Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies. Mother Nature making it a challenge to get to my firewood. Going back out shortly to clear some more. FedEx expected any time now with a new printer. Cables this afternoon, but should just be one USB cable and a power cable. Which outdoor bar would you rather be at sipping an umbrella drink? I vote for dtel's.

  41. I saw your post on these over at AK . I have been a member there for a long time but found myself lurking here a lot for all things Klipsch. I've had Fortes and currently own Quartets which I enjoy a lot but I'm working on a trade for a pair of Chorus II's. I think the Quartet, Forte, Chorus series offers a lot of value and bang for the buck.

  44. Ok, give the installer a second chance to make things right. Didn't notice that they were RANE gear, which is generally pretty good. Perhaps they work working within the constraints of a very tight budget, or committee as sometimes happens with churches. I have a pair of Klipsch KP262, it's a trapezoidal Heresy sized box with K42 heavy duty woofer (NEW) and the forte II 60x 40 tractrix horn. They are voiced for VOICE - ie specifically intended for the House of Worship market. They came out of a church and belong in one. Have the correct safe flying points built in and I even have the steel ATM flyware frames you can have. $400 and you're definitely in business. These are white to blend in with ceiling and walls but could be painted any color. These are two way, so you don't have different coverage patterns for the mid and tweeter. Hanging them in a single cluster eliminates phase and delay effects caused by listeners off to the side hearing sound from two speakers at different times. There is a real science to projecting the spoken work with clarity and articulation. So they'd be like your Heresies, but even better because they were DESIGNED FOR THIS SPECIFIC PURPOSE! Reading backwards through the posts I see Bill H has already suggested this speaker in the configuration I suggest. Placing the speakers horn to horn, with the top cabinet angled so as to reach those at the rear of the room, and the bottom cabinet tilted downwards to reach those in the front, might be an ideal hang for this room.
