  1. I did not know MJ was banned, heck you can get it in all 50 states. Been that way for years. When did they ban it, maybe time to come out of this purple haze.

  2. Here's my take.... Kids now aren't gonna be any worst off say in 20 years after it is legalized... I'm 53, grew up with a lot of shit around me. Started when I was 13. "I've tried a lot of it, I still drink... I raised 2 kids on my own, both are grown adults, productive and living life happily :) .

  4. We are sitting at 11 degrees. The only thing that would make the wedding seem interesting. Would be for me to booze it up. However i don't think this is that type of wedding. Plus i dont know much of anyone. Maybe a flask with Makers Mark is in order. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  7. 6 degrees here today, with lake effect snow....marvelous.....going to try and venture up to Grand Rapids anyway to see some friends for the day. Hopefully I'll get to hit my favorite cheese shop, and need to pick up some fantastic coffee from a local roaster. Hope it's a good day!!

  8. We were thinking of putting one of those in, I never realized there are so many different types. Haha…it sounds like the wedding isn't high on your list, you just kind of slid it in there If I ever felt like drinking something warm like coffee, today would be the day, the windchill is -15! I do have to go to work for a while, to prepare for Monday, so I'll be outside. I'm usually off in the winter, but the odd weather has me very busy. It was 55 one day last week, then cold again, I'm ready for spring. Have a great day everybody.

  9. ate a bunch of shrooms once and slept for 4 months (so i thought). Don’t laugh, it’s quite stressful to think you’ve slept that long.

  10. Lately i heard a commercial about getting constipation from opiate medicines, another win for big pharmaceutical company's pocketbook. Extremely addictive opiates do ease the some of the pain but so does a little weed and side effects are easy to take care of, just have some Doritos, ice cream or fried pork skins handy to take care of the munchies.

  14. I bought my wife her own tool box full of tools. I looked in it the other day, and I think there were 3 tools in it. The rest are scattered everywhere in the house. It's really no fault of hers, she just doesn't care about tools. I, on the other hand, care a great deal about my tools. I was in my screwdriver drawer this afternoon, and I noticed some of the screwdrivers were turned the wrong way. I muttered a few expletives about somebody putting tools away who don't know where the hell they go. You see, I keep my flatheads and pointy screwdrivers laying left to right, and my phillips' laying right to left. All the ends in towards the middle, and the handles are on the outside. Without lights on, I can grab the screwdriver I need. My wife loves to bake, and I could care less. I love eating baked goods; just to be clear. If I went in and organized her baking stuff, she would poison me or suffocate me in my sleep.

  17. The stuff is hated because its exactly what has lowered our stardard of living in this country and lost millions of jobs in the US over tha last few decades. US consumers demand...pay me big bucks for what I do but I want to buy everything cheap as possible..,,,,formula for economic disaster. Of course the governments trade agreements sure doesn't help matters. End rant....

  18. I can't say exactly how much stuff I've soldered over the years, but several years ago we got an order for 6,000 surge protectors and I went through 5 pounds of multicore and 8 pounds of solid core, about 42,000 solder joints, on that one project alone.

  20. But that's just the thing. They need to reschedule MJ so proper research, at our best research hospitals and universities, with peer review, can take place. Our bodies are rife with cannabinoid receptors, they do modulate things (mood, pain, etc), and it demands proper study. There is no rational reason why MJ should be schedule 1. And the freakin' banking industry needs to get it together and serve the MJ businesses. Also related to the sched 1 situation.

  21. It appears that a tone deaf doctor stepped in and staved off his imminent demise. Said doctor has gone into hiding in the face of angry mobs of music lovers demonstrating outside the hospital. A counter-demonstration of little old ladies wearing sneakers fizzled when their oxygen tanks ran down.

  22. i’ve lived in that climate before. But, i’m kinda spoiled now ... for instance, i don’t think it’s been under 76 degrees in quite a while. Last night was one of those “don’t even bother with covers” when i got into bed. Some winter weather, huh. I’ve heard Bend has 300 days of sunshine -- i hope that is true. That's what I was thinking, it would be a little rougher weather than your use to. If I ever get to the Oregon area I have one place I have to go, Portland Japanese garden. Japanese Maples are our favorite plants, we only have about 8-9 different varieties left, we had over 20 at one time.. http://japanesegarden.com/garden-images/image-galleries/

  27. I wish I could say the same about Colorado. My wife any I are trying to move back there but ever since legalization it is impossible to find a house. The market is so hot that houses are literally going under contract withing 12-24 hours of being listed. Its crazy.

  29. For the most part, I agree - as a general sense. But, in all of history, there has always been a need and desire for mind altering drugs. The reasons are many. First, there is escapism from dire realities like fear, insecurity; second there is a desire for mind altering consciousness expansion (spirituality rituals); and third is recreation. The need for various kinds of inebriation, and escape are universal in almost all cultures. Alcohol is the worst choice for general use because it has higher aggressiveness than other drugs, and no one has much claimed any conscious expanding on alcohol. I think the right and best answer would be to legalize institutional and professional use of all hallucinogens and empathogens. So that, psychiatrists for example, could treat mental disorders with these drugs. Simple inebriating drugs like MJ, and perhaps some opiates and empathogens, should be decriminalized. My reasoning is that it is very regressive that the upper classes can take advantage of these drugs with impunity, while the poor use them at great risk of prison. People deserve more personal freedom.

  33. For many years. The most important part is the mechanical connection, not the solder. The phone company (Western Electric) use wire wrap tools in the exchanges which would wrap the wire around the stud about 5 times and did not solder. The wire would gouge and jammo jammo itself into each corner of the four corner stud. Electrical conduction from wire thru solder to connector is un- acceptable. JJK

All the good trees are named and grafted, the best book is by J.D Vertrees, it was printed by Timber Press out of Portland Oregon and it's hard to find old picture, still in pots

  38. This is the kind of discussion the government should be having. Give the right people the tools they need to do their job. Weaken the underground by lifting the bans. Strengthen our mental health professionals by giving them the tools and the money to combat the problems effectively.

  39. Got it home. Wow just wow, first off hats go off to total comfort the pics in this thread do not capture the amount of detail that went into making it, it really does look like a piece of furniture. So much so that my wife actually said "Hey I could live with that in the living room" that in itself is an amazing feat. The sound I first hooked this up using the high level inputs of my bash 300, the JM Peach pre and the MC 2105. Ray and I were both underwhelmed to say the least. It just didn't seem like the sub was getting a good signal from that combo. I pulled the Peach out of the chain and put in my old Marantz Sr5005 AVR everything else the same. The beauty of the Marantz is it allows you to change crossovers and all that fancy stuff not to mention no more high level inputs just a single RCA to the Marantz. BINGO the THTLP woke up after Ray and I tweaked it, sounds sooooo good. I was worried the that it would not blend well with the CF4's in my small room. WRONG this things makes the tightest bass I have ever had the pleasure to experience and OMG the output this thing has will cause my large window in the below pic to flex. When Ray and I were tweaking settings I honestly thought it was going to break it. Conclusion Ray did a bang up job and along the way of this build I meet a fellow Klipsch/Music addict to enjoy this great hobby with. As far as the sub goes I'm done I don't see how anything could sound as good for the money in my listening room. I still need to build those Anti-Res platforms Pete H mentioned earlier in the thread but for now it's time to jam. Not the best pic I'll try and take in better light. https://goo.gl/photos/EP9vPS7Nj5papgfr9

  40. With out seeing a photo, it seems like a very easy fix/modification, to me? Just get an angle grinder with a few cut off wheels in hand (wafer type). With the angle grinder, cut the welded seams of the old jack and discard. Install a grinding wheel to smooth out all the rough edges and what-not. Prime and paint to protect. Install the new "bolt on" tongue jack. DONE ???

  41. I understand Dave. I wouldn’t recommend that others do many things that i’ve done. When my kids were teens, i was upfront with them about my drug past and told them to stay away from them. i’m seriously considering going back to pot though. i have four herniated disks and arthritis in my hip & neck -- i’m in pain every single day. After I got ran over by a truck back in 2009, i’ve been cautioned against pain medicine due to stomach bleeding. I have high tolerance for pain; but, some days it’s just very bothersome. Doctor just wants to prescribe hard narcotics -- i feel that marijuana will be easier on my body. I’ve talked to my doctor, who isn’t opposed to it. because of my past, i’m considering it very carefully.

  43. Yes you have to be very careful with the edibles...some cookies you can eat a small portion and others you can eat several (I am talking retail purchased Meds). Like alcohol, it should be illegal until adulthood. The studies with use of those under 17 are clear enough to support this, much as alcohol has been shown to impair development in the young. I think that it should be legal for anyone over 21. I first smoked in the Military, and then quit until recently. I have been on Medical MJ for about 3 years now, and I have to tell you it is working much better than the prescription meds i was on before, and I don't have any of the side effects that the prescription meds had (not MJ). I have Asthma, PTSD, and IBS, and I have found that using oils in a Vape pen work very well. It is also great to watch a movie or listen to music while under the influence of MJ. As far as people getting into accidents I am a firm believer that you should not be driving while under the influence of MJ, alcohol, as well as some prescription meds. If you think it is ok to drive intoxicated, you are wrong IMO. When I was in the Military I drove high once, and several times after drinking, and i do not condone it for anyone. I was lucky i never got into an accident or caused one. If you drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol you need to pay for the crime. I do believe i was a safer driver after smoking MJ than I was after drinking by far.

  48. I know that cops around here use it as a reason (Probable cause?) to search vehicles for "harder" drugs...ie...Officer thinks he smells weed in the car, calls in drug dog, and hopes he gets some harder substance. Ultimately, it wasn't about Marijuana, but about control.
