  1. Hey gang ... Happy Friday. Getting mentally prepared for my weekly grass cutting/trimming fest. Better Half Unit has put me on notice that we are going to have our first big blow-out party/bbq in several years to repay all of the social obligations we've been ignoring. Told her okay but stock up on Tums and Advil. When this happens, I usually am assigned to the grill for hours. All in all, it's fun. Have a great day. Will try to check back.

  2. Morning all............ It's............ FRIDAY Got some of the Hawaiian Gold KONA Coffee going on this morning... I like this one alot..... The other coffees blends that The BOSS got are good but so far the KONA is #1 for me. So.... I did a real bonehead move earlier this week. Last weekend I took my jump box home cuz I thought my tractor might need a jump start. Well the tractor started but I left the jump box in the bed of the F-250. Tuesday at the shop I needed the jump box..... then I remembered it was in the back on the truck.... No big deal but it was raining it's a$$ off all day. We got home that night after dinner. I could hear this sad sad beeping noise when walking to the truck. The LED was going crazy... I got it in the house a turned it upside down in the sink and water just poured out of it. Not only was it in the back of the truck but it was laying flat and just filled up with water. I took the unit apart in hopes it would just dry out...... not so..... one of the two circuit boards was very warm to the touch... I sprayed it off with some contact cleaner. it was just falling apart. Not good Mannnnnnn........ this was one off the best jump boxes I have ever owned........ So Thursday The BOSS and I went to the Battery Warehouse to get another jump box. Those guys at the Batt Warehouse treat me good. I send quite a few customers there way when people don't want one of my Interstate Battery's..... The box goes for $200 but they let me have it for $170 and no tax We could have got the same box from the internet for $135 but I like to support my local small business. Getting another Suzuki Samurai ready for sale..... this is a real nice truck....but I just don't need it..... I need to get The BOSS's Samurai back on the road... Planing a 1.6 Geo tracker engine swap this year... I got the Geo a few months back... Well The BOSS's mom is doing Sooooo better..... She seems happy and gives me a great big smile when she sees me ....... We got a tablet for our daughter so we can do some video chatting with mom. Our daughter will call and tell mom to look...... and you can see mom looking around and when she sees us her face just "lights up" ..... Really good stuff .... OK gang gotta roll...... wishing all a great Friday...... MKP :-)

  4. We began this morning at 8am. It's now 8pm and we just took a break for a quick dinner. Today we moved the LaScala Trio and Quad RSW-15's onto the platform and hooked up the speakers, Onkyo receiver and the AppleTV just to play some music while we work. The arch, diamond patterns and side decorative pieces have been installed. We had to move the front two can lights about 2' as it was too close to the cabinet. We still have to add a few trim pieces to the very top and a 7" Crown Moulding to finish it off the top portion of the cabinet. We made a cutout in the back wall for the projector. The projector will sit between a pantry and my son's closet.

  7. I don't know what to say other than what hasn't all ready been said. The one thing that trips me up, is the minimal modification that was done to make this work. I mean the fact that Wake built this from miles away and barely had to do any modification is phenomenal.

  8. Hi. I saw your ad on Craigslist for the Klipsch speakers. I was born and raised in Hope, Arkansas (the home of Klipsch) and knew the inventor/owner of Klipsch my entire life. I've seen & heard practically every speaker made by this awesome man and his company...even own quite a few myself. The speakers you are showing for sale are NOT Klipsch speakers. They are not made in any way by this fine company and you are trying to rip people off by claiming they are something they definitely are NOT. You really need to edit your post removing the Klipsch name from these cheap imitations before the company finds your post and takes measures against you. Seriously. Not cool at all. Sincerely, A Klipsch Lover

  11. Back from a whirlwind nc trip! So sorry we couldn't connect Chuck. My uncle who was hosting the reunion has leukemia and is on his last days, so his kids had to leave midweek and I took over part of rage hosting duties which ate up my free morning. Hopefully in Hope we'll meet up sometime! Left mid 90's for high 70's, but it feels great! Enjoying cup number one. Have a great rest of the week all!

  12. We began Day 2 of the installation at 7am and wrapped up at 12:30am. Two very long days....I'm working off of 4hrs sleep. Yesterday I had my very first energy drink at midnight, and my second energy drink this evening. LOL I don't have any photos to share as most of the day was spent outside making adjustments to the height of the columns. Neither of us felt the transition from the column to the piece that sits above the column flowed well so he had to make some adjustments to several pieces and ended up modifying the top and the bottom of the column. I painted the side walls to help totally blacken the area behind the screen and am very pleased at how that looks. I also painted the wood supports behind the screen frame flat black as well. We ran into a few more snags today but were able to overcome and as always, Shaun found solutions to the problems. I thought a quick video recap showing what we've worked on might be nice. I will post a recap video each evening showing the progress we've made. Hope you enjoy the video while I catch up on some much needed sleep. It's almost 2am and we are hitting it hard again at 7am.

  13. Hey Ben, I think you can access the back bank of plugs if you pull the intake manifold. Alot of V-6 are set up like that. I've only had a few Caravan's in the shop but I've never done plugs on them....... Carl might know more on this... A tip or two if I may..... When I do ignition components on my customer's cars I will always use OEM parts.. ie: 99% of all Honda's use NGK spark plugs.... a few Denso plugs here and there. If I'm replacing wires I will use ether dealer parts or NGK wires. NGK wire are "aftermarket" but there fit a performance is that of OEM. Also NGK does make wires for some car manufactures. I will never use Autolite spark plugs..... over the years I have pulled put more Autolite plugs out of peoples cars that they have put in. All come in with missfire codes and they tell me it couldn't be the plugs I just did them last year...... what do I find????? Autolite plugs..... IMHO.... price out the ignition parts from the dealer......Oh if the intake has to come off..... get a intake gasket Good luck MKP :-)

  16. Quickly off the top of my head - MartinLogan electrostatic speakers - Lawrence KS - about half hour west of me. I believe the higher end products are still made in Lawrence, the rest farmed overseas. Sutherland Engineering - world class preamps - Kansas City. Ron Sutherland was the co-founder of MartinLoagn with Gayle Sanders. Transcendant Sound - tube amplifier kits, the famous Grounded Grid. Kansas City

  18. Having a friend come over tomorrow night that I haven't seen in over 35 years, he now lives in Texas and is in town for his sisters wedding. He and his wife will stay tomorrow night before heading home. I hope he calmed down, I know I have mostly, we were not good back then, and luck to have lived through everything dumb we did. My wife talks to him on facebook and he called this morning, should be fun.

  22. Day 3 of the build and I'm totally exhausted. We began at 8am on Thursday and finished at 3am on Friday! We only stopped for about 30 minutes for lunch and then were back at it. It's 3:30am now and we will likely get up at 8am. I must be totally sleep deprived because I literally almost poured a bowl of cereal on a plate instead of a bowl. Here is a video recap of what we did on Day 3.

  27. The pictured Klipchorn looks like it is sitting in a false corner. This allows you to use the speaker without having it in a corner. The finish on the Khorn looks really nice... Both the Khorn and the Forte are easy to sell if you decide you don't want them in the future. A pair of Forte's in that shape should be about $500/pair. The Khorn could be anywhere from $1,500 to $2,800 depending on condition etc. At first glance, the Khorns look like they would be north of $2,000 at least.

  30. Just returned from having my ten year 'procedure'... Since I didn't eat anything at all yesterday, I was ready to have breakfast today. Yum! Fresh rice, some leftover lechon (roast pig) and a couple of eggs. Added a fresh asian mango to top it all off. Finishing a fresh cup of coffee and will take a good nap. Good news is I can wait another ten years before I do it again... Bruce

  32. Here is the massive aluminum frame to hold my 150" AT Screen! Holy cow is this thing enormous! We brought in one of the columns to see how it would look. When we raised the screen, the frame just barely touched one of the columns. Shaun asked me to give him some time to think how to fix it. I step out of the room for about 20 minutes to catch up on some emails and when I come back in, he hands me a 1/16" sliver of wood. He ended up using a skill saw to hand cut the back side of the column a 1/16th of an inch so that the column would sit closer to the wall and provide enough clearance for the screen frame to be raised without it touching the columns. Now that was impressive! There is a latch (similar to a hood latch) installed that allows the screen to be raised for easy access to the inside of the cabinet and speakers. It is supported by dual gas shocks. Wooden framing was added to the left and right of the screen that will be used to support the diamond pattern. This diamond pattern turned out absolutely gorgeous! I'll get some close up shots of it after we finish the build. Five carpeted plywood sections are installed to support the LaScala Trio and (4) RSW-15's. These are just sitting on top of the wooden frame so they are very easy to remove to gain access below the carpeted platform. The bottom middle section is attached to sliding rails that will support up to 300lbs. I will finally be able to easily gain access behind my equipment when I need to install or swap out components. Well, that's all for tonight. Will share more pics tomorrow evening. It's not 3:22am....I have no idea how I'm going to function at 7am. Haha. Hope you enjoyed the pics. I know I LOVE what I'm seeing. This is turning out far above what I could have ever asked for. Absolutely incredible craftsmanship.

  33. The build begins tomorrow morning at 7am. We have no idea how long it will take us to complete the project. There will definitely be some challenges to overcome as Shaun doesn't remember anything that has been built for the project. There are no plans, no diagrams....hopefully this build thread will be able to provide guidance as well as problem solving skills. Our plan is to begin constructing the bottom shelf, then move upwards to the frame and then the upper portion. I will keep my DSLR handy to take some photos throughout the process and we are going to attempt to do another timelapse. I have no idea whatsoever as to how often to set the GoPro to take photos. I'm guessing maybe 30 seconds? It's not a big deal if it doesn't turn out...just thought it would be fun to see. Shaun said he's really surprised that I still trust him with this project...in which I replied, "I still trust you with my life". It's going to happen and we are both extremely excited to build this together. Can't wait for you guys to see it. I likely will not post anything until late in the evenings after he goes to bed so that we can get as much done as possible each day. Stay tuned! It's going to be awesome!

  43. This happened to us about 13 years ago at our previous residence. We had 3 outdoor cats and these two enormous and very fat hawks swooped around for a couple of weeks while their babies were just getting ready to leave the nest (as it turned out). I was afraid we were going to lose a cat or two. They were unusually big hawks. We have a lot of them around but they never behaved like that. But something different happened. Our male cat figured out what was going on and hid around the woods, stalked, and eventually almost killed one of these hawks that was much bigger than he. He had it on the ground flailing and there was a mess when it was over, but the bird escaped. I didn't see it happen and told my neighbor I thought their dog must have got one of the big hawks. They said nope, it was your white cat. (we had 1 white and 2 black cats). Heck I was afraid he was going to get carried away. But it was almost the other way around. Now........we live at a different residence, even more remote and wooded......and I feed all the animals. They come in peace now and get nice treats.
