  1. Yes kiddies, your resident Jubilee hater, (I don't care what they sound like, they're damn ugly......) is I think, finally making the mental turnaround to: (I don't care how ugly they are, they sound damn good, if not actually miraculous....) Not withstanding the somewhat "interesting" selection of music to demo them.....this would be my third year hearing them in the Hope demo room, and I guess I must be thick for it to take this long..... A new friend of mine that I met in Hope and had some great conversation with out by the pool at the Super 8, suggested that next year perhaps we should have an auction for listening time (perhaps with Roy) in the Jube demo room. Our music choice of course.....I think that's a splendid idea. @richieb, there you go....You're welcome. Hope you've had a nice trip. @Chief bonehead You know I love you

  2. 2 great white sharks spotted the survivors of a sunken ship in the distance. “Follow me son and do like I tell you.” The 2 sharks approached the people bobbing in the water. The dad shark instructed his son to swim around the group showing just the tip of your fin. When they’d done that the dad told his son to circle the group once more showing his entire fin..... and they did. “Now eat them all.” After devouring the hapless prey the son asked his dad, “why did we have to swim around them, why not just eat them?” “Son they taste better if you scare the 💩 out of them 1st.”

  5. Yeah I unloaded this morning but great weather. I get home and this must be my lucky month. A pristine KP-201 in birch with only one small ding will be in my hands tomorrow and only a 40 mile round trip to get them. Capacitors on order. Aint they purty! The voice in my mind said go buy these and I have to obey the voice in my mind.

  6. I hear they have a great weight loss program going too. Eco smart they also teach you how to cut back on electricity usage and return to the earth mother simpler way of agrarian life free from all modern conveniences that so ruin the ecosphere. They have also embarked on a methane reduction program where under the advice of AOC they eliminate herbivores from people who just don't understand meat is bad and replace it with stone soup. Bernie etal will no doubt be running cruise ship fundraisers to paradise soon.

  9. I've pretty much given up on going to concerts to see bands I grew up with in my youth/teenage years. At the age they are now and their range of vocals diminishing, the use of auto-tune and backing tracks, etc., I just don't care to ruin the good memories of concerts past. Plus they just cost too darn much to go through it all. It's one of those things again where I'd rather use that money to have a cookout at our house, feed friends, and listen to music. But that's just me.

  10. I don't either, I think they may be talking about that game where they skate around and try to hit a small round thing into a net, and if not they just hit each other which seems to happen much more.

  11. I've got a copy of "Street Survivors" with the band engulfed in flames on the cover and a tour schedule insert, which tour was tragically cut short and the remaining stock of albums pulled to be reissued sans flames. Can't get that on CD!

  19. Sooooo much love shared in here at times. Thanks everyone and spot on @rplace! BTW @JohnJ i see what you're talking about on the album cabinet glass now. It's actually a "Home of the Buzzard" sticker from WMMS in Cleveland. Hinckley, Ohio has a buzzard festival when they return to Ohio hence the nickname. WMMS totally ROCKED the world 24/7/365 in the mid-70-80's and became Rollling Stone's top metro area for like 8-9 years in a row. WMMS was instrumental in bringing the Rock Hall of Fame to Cleveland. They lost their license over some Howard Stern stuff I think. Then iheartradio bought them out and totally screwed things. That's my story and I'm stickin to it! Why am I watching Columbus Blue Jacket hockey? lol

  25. Pro gear IS better Jim. I always figured if looks were important then a silk screen hanging of some sort could cover the front of ugly so your music could be pretty. You need to hear a set of KPT 456's or newer equivalent too and then you too will be doomed.

  26. Looks like an awesome place there. I wish I could find the pictures of the house my dad and (ex) step-mother bought there before they moved back to the states. It had a panoramic view of the city and a 2 lane Olympic length swimming pool with a guest house out back. Beautiful place. Moved after someone poisoned one of their German Shepherds. Bought huge brand new Prevost and traveled the US after that then got tired of travelling after a couple years and bought another ranch outside of Pueblo. Then they divorced. lol

  29. Good question. Those were made in the second year 1995 and the born-on day was 222. We are not sure of the exact changover date from ver 2 to v3 as ver3 was made late in 1995. The best way to tell is to look inside. If the wires are black/red, that is exclusive to v3.

  30. No Chit, there I was....sitting in front of my NEW K-horns, trying to decide if I needed another sip of Irish before heading to bed...so I got up, staggered into the kitchen, decided that I had already had more than enough....and staggered back through the living room for one more look at the K-horns before wandering down the hallway with its REALLY COOL NEW CARPET, to the master bedroom...and I had an epiphany.. "These K-horns are perfect for my starting point of getting into the low-crawl position to head down the hallway to the master bed room with a stop by the master bath en-route to bed....to hug the commode and lessen the hangover for tomorrow!" See pics of K-horns and hallway with really cool new carpet.....below:

  37. Picking them up tomorrow morning. KP-201's with one little ding and stands. Never had a set before and this looks like a good one to get. Capacitors on order and maybe a new MAHL tweeter too. Recap for sure though and I have heard so much about these I could not say no.

Like you and everyone else on the forum except Carl I work hard for my money and want to spend it wisely. I’ll do that comparison next time home between the Mac and the Inspire to see if there is an audible difference. Your welcome to my Casa anytime bud was a real pleasure having you here. Jerry

  43. All I can say is that I have these finished as much on these as I'm going to do. They look pretty much the same as in the earlier pics, but I have binding posts inside the back to connect the woofers to the crossovers. Finally got some decent wire to get the woofers installed and new bottoms on the cabinets. Still using the EV 1828 drivers for the mids. Woofers are new K-33 woofers that my older son got from JWC. The tweeters are APT-50 drivers on the Eminence 150 horn. These are the older APT50 drivers made in Poland, before Eminence started making them in house. Crossovers are DHA2s designed by @JohnA (John Albright). This sounds SWEET, and brought back the memories of how great LaScalas sound. Since I will be getting some MWM (dual K-43) bins within the month, I got the basics done so that I could listen again before letting my older son Josh, aka Invidiosulus on the forums, take them to his house. If we think we can't live with the sheer size of those, I'm sure I can find someone who would want them. Then I'll find something else to put in here. I'l let Josh decide if he will do anything to them o leave them as is. With three boys and two girls in the house, I think he will leave them alone. The LS are being powered by my 2A3 amplifiers, while the small JBLs flanking the TV are powered by an Alesis 100 wpc SS amp. The Heresiy IIs were connected to the Moondogs, but currently aren't connected to anything since I moved the cables to the LS. When I got the first LS totally together, I swapped out one of the Heresy speakers, and didn't change the gain. The LS almost blew me out of the room and I could barely hear the other channel with the Heresy on it. You have to love high sensitivity fully horn loaded speakers. Now my wife and I need to get a bunch of the Filipinas over for Karaoke. 😲 Bruce

  44. I feel like I am starting to pick on you, but I am not. I could see how those in the southern states have issues with lower temps on the BGE. I can fill my firebox with good lump charcoal (preferably oak), some fruit wood chunks if I wish and run it 12-15 hours at 225 without having to add any wood. Now I have a home made Ugly drum (normal smoking and hanging ribs) I don't use my current setup to hang but did in the past, Green Mountain pellet, BGE, and have used a PK and Weber for great grilling. There is a difference in all of those. It really depends how involved you want to be with your cooking. If I was going to buy a one and done pellet, I would look at Yonder or Blazin (Blazins are made about 45 mins from me). The Green Mountain is what my wife and daughter upgraded to from their easy bake oven. Nice thing about it, I get bbq on the weekdays during the summer. If you do go for the Big Green Lots of natural lump to use, I have been happy with Better lump from Walmart. Its cheap and has decent lumps. Since Lowes now sells Kamado Big lump, I am going to give it a try. Some folks say that BGE lump is made by Royal Oak, if so, there is still a difference or at least from my experienced batches. If I use my Ugly Drum, its good old Kingsford with some wood chunks which is mainly used at the lake. When I am with my buddy, we use his original Oklahoma Joe to smoke brisket with nothing but oak and I say original, not the ones you buy at Lowes. These weight twice as much and as close as you can get to something homemade that is thick as hell. I prefer and offset when cooking brisket. Now I got lucky about 2 years ago and was able to purchase the bottom to my Green egg for $100 on the used market and the lid for $100 as well, one piece in the town I work and the other in the town I live. So I ended up with a $900.00 set up for $200. It was well worth it. If I was going to purchase a new one, it would be an XL (you never hear anyone that has an XL say they wish the purchased a large) as it will come with a lifetime warranty, as I know they have had some issues. But don't worry their customer service and warranty is top notch. From what I have heard, just send pictures to your dealer with a copy of your receipt and wait a week or two for replacement parts. Normal issues are fireboxes and rings cracking and bases cracking. Both of mine have had cracks for these two years and never given me problems. I have my egg up to about 600-700 degrees Saturday making pizza with no issues. Yes I have had all of these going at the same time. If I was more into catering, I would looking into building something like Dtel has mentioned, just don't' have the time or space for that. Its all about retaining heat, air flow and efficiency. Each one does one better, but the BGE does all of those the best.

  48. My dual 12" woofer tractrix horn is calculated as a full space tractrix 90Hz. Throat 90 sq in. (If my memory serves) Measured in more than one room would extended to 70Hz then drop. There were very little parallel walls....so not much dips in response. Best soundin horn I ever made. Jc
