  1. I know grits are kind of a Southern thing, I like them but this was good. She cooked shrimp and grits, it has shrimp, bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic, butter, milk, chicken broth, heavy cream and seasoning. It's pretty rich but very good. I started with this to taste it, had to taste it a second time.

  3. plenty of "contestants" get the "quick trim" on beards and eyebrows. The guy in the sarong isn't forging. OSHA would have gone crazy on us at the bowling alley. We wore sneakers and seasonally, shorts and coats. Heating/cooling? Oh yeah.... heating in the summer and cooling in the winter.

  5. . Call me crazy but standing in front of a forge wearing a sarong seems iffy at best —. OSHA must not be involved in the show ?

  6. +1 on the looks good We would cook the corn mush a little harder, wrap the shrimp in it and call it a tamale 60` this AM. Feels a bit cool. I have a wedding to attend/participate in, in 2 weeks. I'm the "best" man. Should be interesting. Bride is Lakota. Bride and groom will be in traditional [Lakota] garb. I am expected to wear my sarong and robe. oh.. anyone watch Forged in Fire? One of the guys that judges the knives wears a sarong.

  8. He's asking about Chorus II, not Cornwall. Believe me, Chorus II need good quality higher wattage SS. In my experience, they are much better at mid to higher volume than low volume, and in my experience, tubes are great for most of the Klipsch line, but the Chorus and Forte are the exception. IMHO, YMMV, TGIF

  10. Hi! I thought I would tell you guys how it went. I happen to come across a pair of Chorus II here in Sweden that I bought:) I am so happy I didn’t spend five grand on pair of Forte III. I am very satisfied with the Chorus. The drivers are in great shape. I have ordered a pair of Titanium diaphragm from Crites and are going to update the crossover in a few weeks. thanks for all the advice:)

  15. I had no idea what Polenta was, heard of it but had no idea. I would try that also. She just found this recipe and wanted to try it we have had it before but never tried to cook it. It's my turn to do it next, it's going to be a little different than hers.

  20. Hey Joe: So frustrating when the stations make changes to their towers, which obviously affect reception. Happened to me many times, and when I contact them, typically they say "no, we haven't done anything". However, I did notice one local station that when I contacted them indicated they started another (second) broadcast from a tower about 40 miles away in the opposite direction -- and a re-scan found the station. Oddly, I was unable to pick up the signal from 10 miles away, but could easily pull in the one 40 miles out. Maybe trees? The TV Fool site is good in that it also gives you the idea whether or not the broadcast is in UHF or VHF. In my case, I can easily pull in Omaha stations that all broadcast in UHF. PBS is VHF in a slightly different location, and there's another ABC and FOX station the opposite direction (Fox - UHF, ABC - VHF). So I have 3 antennas and a combiner. I've had excellent results making my own antennas --- cost about $10 in parts from the home center -- see video below and other videos from Danny (he really knows what he's talking about). I used scrap wood for the main center panel and the part where he has plastic in the video. Also --- if you are feeding more than one TV, or splitting cable, I've found that a distribution amplifier is a must-have. I haven't had cable since 1992, and I have a OTA DVR. Works great.

  25. Since I used to have Rotel gear, i am a bit partial to their amps. The Rotel RB 1080, which has 200 watts a side. I had the older rb991 and liked it paired with my Epics. The price is a tad high, but there is only one for sale at the moment, it seems. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rotel-RB-1080-Stereo-Power-Amplifier-RB1080-Black/333328300930?hash=item4d9bea3b82:g:jS4AAOSwN9tdesdr

  26. I’d like to ask as it’s been 13 years since I have owned Khorns what do most here think would be a fair price. I know things are worth what someone will pay but taking into consideration these are 15 miles from my house what do similar make/models go for? They definitely came down from their initial asking price.

  27. The XTi2000 is rated 1000 watts into 2 ohms. Would you need the DSP functions in the 2000? What is your budget, or do you already have an amp you could use. Is your party series always the same venue or will it change? The Crown XLI800 would provide plenty of power for the La Scalas, especially if used to power a single pair of LS. Some of the QSC amps would also be good. Welcome to the forums, btw. Bruce

  28. They already have jobs because they got an education while still playing football. I met lots of Academy grads this past weekend. All very nice people. Chatted with a couple of ENC fans for a bit, fun ribbing on both sides. College football games are just so much more fun, considerate and enjoyable than the pros, IMO.

  30. make sure that you leave an open un damped volume from the bottom of the vent on up to the top of the upper woofer. You need this cavity to be fully resonant so the woofers can most effectively drive the vent into resonance. You can damp the bottom corners and the area above the top woofer solid with damping. You can line the walls with damping but you must leave a good sized cavity to be free to resonate. The woofers drive the vent into resonance then the vent loads the woofers at and just below the tuning frequency of the vent.

  34. I had mine in my Chorus II's in 1,500 square foot Photo Studio, 30x50 room with 16 ft. high ceilings (an old Baptist Church). I ran them with a 6 watt T-amp with a 12 volt Radio Shack Wall Wart for a power supply. They sounded great, and most times the other tenants in the building told me to turn it down. The bass was very detailed, and the mids were fabulous too.

  38. Mornin' All Winding up this bag of Peruvian. Next up Sumatran. Was half tempted to get some Kauai... one problem. It's dirt coffee.... ground. No like ground coffee. dropped $100 at the store and came out with one bag. $40 gas. $40 tobacco, $10 coffee and a handful of edible stuff. The gas will last for quite a while. The car doesn't [much] leave town. It goes to the dump [some day it will stay there]. Out to gather wood and, if I have time, to the lake. I do not recall the last time I fueled her up. It really needs to be run more than the 5 miles I give it. That's only when I go to the dump. I take a little cruise. The coffee shop and back. Wheeeeeeee. Used to get a lot of miles when I was working. Now I have to run it to keep the battery up.

  39. Is that what happened? I thought they were too busy making sure it was easier to pollute the earth. Someone dropped the ball. p.s. Apple...snicker. Here's a great idea, subjugate your freedom to a corporation instead of the government because somehow it just seems better.

  41. it's about 15` cooler here. and Yes... difference between being in the shade is 40` cooler than being in the sun. Quite noticeable Was talking to a buddy about a sub. He is a DJ... Reaffirmed what y'all been saying... Don't really NEED a sub for the music I listen to. Nonetheless, asked him to keep his eyes open for a Danley unit. He still has connections. And a moving van... and 2 young/er men..... wife's secretary has folks she chefs for. They have homes in HI and AK... soon to have a place in AZ... for her. Must be nice. Maybe they will spring for a sound system. Since they aren't pinching pennies... There is a pair of RF7 II or III with a center speaker and RB81 II for less than a pair of CWIII that are also on local cl. Either way. https://tucson.craigslist.org/ele/d/amado-klipsch-rf-7-ii-rc-62-ii-rb81-ii/6972192231.html https://tucson.craigslist.org/ele/d/tucson-klipsch-cornwall-iii-like-new/6968750184.html

  42. Never could dance like Travolta, I'm wired for boot-stompin' & beer drinkin'! But darn I did a good rain-dance today, there were organic specs of something that made me have to wash the car twice earlier. Just can't wax over dirt, not time for a Zaino clay bar for a good while. But I got the top half waxed before this one gray cloud just let go of some big heavy drops and a bunch of them. High 90s must've made rain clouds at the river again.

  46. Default always works just fine for me. I built a pair of Belle inspired clones using 2 different plans that are quite accurate. I always wanted a pair and non ever came up that looked decent and/or affordable before the flippers got to them. So, I just built a pair. I'd often pondered on making mine a 2-way using the Crites woofer along with the Faital driver & horn that is used in the Cornscala D. Bob had said the passive crossover he has for them would most likely work. Or build a pair of Cornscala D's. Those are lots of good choices you posted for sure.

  47. I don't know. But that's not the point. I'm an electrical engineer whose specialty is signal processing. I know what it takes to do resampling well, and I also know that most resamplers don't. So whether I can hear it or not, it bothers me when someone else is messing with my bits unnecessarily.
