  2. @Full Range , Hey Paul ! My doughter is in Sidney till Sunday, than she departs to Canberra , sheĀ“s keen to see the symetric city design , and lotĀ“s of cultural sightseeing. SheĀ“s fine and didnĀ“t miss her home at all. ThatĀ“s the way it should be if a 19teen year girl is doing a trip around the globe.

  7. I was trying to get some old photos together and realized how much better a lot of my older pictures were when I used a camera and not my cell phone. It may be also that I was shooting film and really needed to think about the shots before hitting the button. I hope Josh doesn't mind the pics of his mom. ]

  8. I started a thread in tubes last week about the impending arrival. Well it landed yesterday and it deserves a new thread. I was a little apprehensive about 8 watts. I've never owned anything so measly. Well I couldn't have been more wrong about that. This thing has balls for days along with the delicacy that the 300B is known for. I only got to listen for about an hour last night, but wow, very impressive. I'm sure much of this performance can be attributed to Aric's design and his overbuilt power supply. Glad to be in the DHT camp now. I will post more about how it compares to the PP EL84 amp I have been using after I've had more listening time. In the pic below, the PS is on the rack behind the amp, tethered with two umbilical cables.

  9. Ja ..even if youĀ“ve got a strong mentallity , like I have , thereĀ“s coming a point where you ( I ) give up. It makes no sense to invest anykind of energy into a failed marriage. ItĀ“s better to save that energy for yourself ( myselfe ) for the upcoming war from our lawers. The last two weeks I spent by a good friend mine , now i`m back in my house and living in the first floor apartment. SheĀ“s living with my son in the sec. floor . Good to have space and rooms enough in that house . You won't meet if you don't want to and my son comes to me when he wants to see me. Nevertheless, I'm looking for a new apartment in another city to really find distance, even from the house. Never would I have expected that it could affect me after 17 years of marriage , like many others. statistically I am as a normal man who has survived the average duration of a marriage in this day and age. šŸ˜‚

  11. Finally put it all together. It has been awhile since I messed around with cables, and here is the thing of connecting three wires together (3 for L, and 3 for N - seven wires with a ground wire). Since the wires are positioned in a star configuration, all are different lengths when you try to connect them together ... and the space inside the connector is not that big. But one cut here and another there, and we are done šŸ˜Š

  12. Why are you interested in buying these or do you just like to ask questions ? If you want to buy them I will unpack them and take pictures with meter and post the pics . *************The reason why I put the link to the ebay listing is so you can go there and see my feedback as a seller . Anyone can post a picture of someone else's photo were they tested these same kind of tweeter hooked up to a meter . I think that gives you a more complete picture of my integrity . I just put the link on here so if anyone wants to buy them , they can . simple

  14. Sounds a bit like overkill but that's what they claim they have installed in some new attraction in Vegas called the Sphere. For you guys unlike me who can't count past 21 without dropping my pants, the website cites various science stuff which they used in creating the sound. Maybe you can understand it, but it's gibberish to me. They are: The Helmholtz Equation, The Kirchoff-Helmholtz Integral, the Kirchoff Integral Equation and the Wave Equation. I, of course, have no idea if these are actual science thingies used in creating sound. Still, if I'm ever in Vegas I'd probably check it out. Maybe sneak into the control room and turn up the volume.

  15. Hey there, I'm a long-time lurker and figured it's a good time to join the discussion as I need your help. I've recently made up my mind to purchase speakers from the Heritage line. I had the opportunity to try out the Heresy IV and I like them a lot. They seem perfect for my needs However, I'm facing a bit of a dilemma. The room I'm working with is quite spacious, measuring 20x13 feet with a ceiling height of over 11 feet. This has led me to wonder whether the Heresy speakers can effectively fill such a space. In the same time, I came across used CW3 in my town. They are available at a similar price to the new Heresy IV. This has made me consider whether it would be a sensible decision to switch to the CW3. I truly like the sound of the Heresy speakers and I'm just contemplating whether they'll be able to deliver the kind of performance I'm looking for in a room of this considerable size. What other considerations I should take in mind here? I know these are very different speakers, but any comments regarding performance of these two in large space will be super helpful.

  16. Ha! I wouldn't necessarily call those "action shots." It reminded me it's like that at the airport coming back from international travel as an American. I could enter Foreign countries faster than coming back to my own. šŸ˜ Anyway, thanks for posting and glad you found something that interests you--check out that crazy bike crossing in Amsterdam in the morning. Alot more action. šŸ˜Ž

  18. I had this Fender bass back in the early '70s. Without reading the headstock, doesn't anyone... Josh, Duke... know which model it was. It was white until I stripped off the paint and stained it. It wasn't a Squier model. Maybe a Mustang? Don't wake the cats!

  20. Although not available on YouTube, you can watch the traffic crossing from the Mexican side any of the 4 International Bridges at the City of Laredo. Here's an action shot of taken at the Colombia bridge off the old mines road. The long line that's double and triple wide include vehicles coming to the US, (usually 99% tractor trailers at this bridge filled with goods, some legal some not so legal)....... And the trains, well let me tell yea, the trains can be as long as a few miles. For more action shots and videos you can also visit: https://www.cityoflaredo.com/departments/bridge-system/bridge-cameras If you're lucky, you might get to watch the next rush of illegals that show up at the bridge, rather than cross the wild country and trashing up the barns, ranches and farms along the way.

  25. Once again are you interested in buying or do you just like questioning everything ? I explained my reasons to provide a link to e-bay . If you are not interested fine move on . There are adults here mature enough to make their own decisions . If you wanted to buy these and had questions to help you make a purchase I would answer them .

  26. This is an issue seen on many of the Cinema series soundbars. Recent firmware updates have reduced the number of times the audio disappears but have not completely resolved this issue. Often the only way to restore the audio is to power cycle the soundbar.

  27. I need to replace one of my woofers in my quartet speakers. Woofer has what I believe is a frozen voice coil, as I can't move the cone at all with my fingers. Would rather have an original speaker than a replacement one. Thank you. Addendum - Was just contacted by support, and they DO have the speaker. Problem solved.

  30. What is the advantage of the 203 / 205 over the 105 if you do not use for movies? I know the DAC is supposed to be better but mine sounds great on some very revealing speakers.,

  31. It's a bedroom setup so no possibility of getting the speakers behind the bed/listening area. Definitely not ideal for speaker placement, but the cozy factor has made it the default watching area despite having a dedicated home theater and heritage 5.0 in the living room. I was just going to put the rears on night stands facing inward toward the listening position. The RS62s would be easy since mounting it on the back wall points half of the drivers in the general correct direction and doesn't take up any table space.

  33. Hope they have a nearby speaker shop. Iā€™m lucky enough to have one a mile from my house!

  34. the woofer seems to have a defective voice coil .......any speaker shop can replace a VC , no need to recone the woofer , they remove the dust cap , unsolder the leads , remove the VC , clean the gap area , and in reverse mode , , they install a new VC with shims , solder the leads , re-glue the VC , 1 h labor plus parts

  41. KT, sorry to say Iā€™m not an arch top guy. All I know is it chords so easy. Iā€™m not familiar with your 175. I donā€™t want to misrepresent my self here among you all. Iā€™ve never been an equipment guy like my friend Keith Satterfield and others I know. Iā€™m a competent enough player to have played irhythm in several bar bands but I was Keithā€™s bass player off and on since 1974 through 88. Lack of bass players in my area kept me able to play in bar bands till my back showed me I canā€™t do 4 hour twice a weekend. My last band I was the new guy with them for 13 years. I had started playing bass in our church in 1993 and still play there today. I left my working band in 2006 due to several back surgeryā€™s. No one ask but thereā€™s my musical life story. Iā€™ve forumā€™d with several of yā€™all since I joined this forum would some of yā€™all mind telling me about yourselves? I just hope I've Not bored yā€™all to tears. But thanx for interest yā€™all have shown. kevin
