Thanks. The 250 is a first generation SS. But very "tube like" in it's presentation. The 110 works beautifully with the 250. The 250 was designed to actually be plugged into the early Mac pre's, like the 110, for on/off capability. And yes I really like the phono section. There's actually 2 MM inputs, and I have my AR XA and Dual 1019 both using them at the moment. Thanks!4 points

I'm just glad you picked a good picture. Later I got into a little trouble and was locked up for a while, this pic is me in the zoo, begging for peanuts. After all of that I lightened up and with the help of some jamaican friends went in a different direction, taking it easy and relaxing is now a goal. second pic.3 points

To push my Cornwall II's. A very early MX110, and a MC250(restored by Audio Classics). I'd say I'm all set for summer.2 points

I'm a sucker for a good deal. Just bought this pair of Klipsch KSP-S6 surround speakers. $149 shipped seemed good to me. I owned a pair previously and miss them since I sold them.Tim2 points

I'll take 'why did anyone listen to Milli Vanilli?' for 1000 When I first looked at the original pic I thought it was a pile of drivers up there, Probably distracted by the big horns ? Milli Vanilli, now that funny, but really they had as much talent as some of the pop groups out there now.2 points

Indeed it is dry. It could mummify ya before the buzzards knew you was available.1 point

Incredible in every way. Floorstanding speakers in a "bookshelf" speakers body. IMO, very well balanced but still has that aggressive edge. That's if you can call a 32lbs speaker a bookshelf speaker. Bill1 point

Hi Don, I'm sure there is interest at large, and from me. Particularly the crossovers but the others as well.1 point

Bashing a competitor's product, about which you know absolutely nothing, is very distasteful at best. I can't imagine it is elevating your status in the minds of prospective customers. Weisfeld and Leung have clearly stated that the chassis and faceplate are made in China and that it contains parts from various Asian countries (it has been a long time since the COO of the "American" parts which I constantly purchase is USA). The amps are built here in NJ, not in China. That said, the OP is thrilled with his purchase which is all that matters. I don't see the point of debating anything else as it is not relevant. And, for all we know, in a side by side comparison with a restored "real" 299D, the VPI may sound much better. Maynard1 point

Did you actually look at the girl behind the ugly swim suit? If you wouldn't have some of that then there's something seriously wrong with you. I love you like a brother too Richie1 point

By the way my daughter's starting to gig a little around town. She played at Beer Works on Friday and has a couple of dates at Tommy Condons. She also plays at Top Dawg in Summerville and King Street Grille at Northwoods. She's actually making some money. You have to come check her out sometime. Here's a link to her FB page and website. Like her FB page. Any of you other fine people shoot her a like too. She's 16 and already getting something done. Facebook: Cat Strickland Music Website: www.catstricklandmusic.com1 point

Weisfeld and Leung were very up front about using the original 299D as the basis of their product. There's nothing wrong with using such marketing. Better that than to copy someone else's work and claim that it is their own. There was once a bitter discussion on here about the latter method and it was of no benefit to any of the parties involved. Maynard1 point

I thought these would be shipping by now but I guess not, they're saying July now. Preordered some california walnuts and matte black ones yesterday but I still gotta wait. Real curious about the distressed white oak, have yet to see a picture of that finish on anything.1 point
