I know timbre matching and using the same make/product line is important, but this sure blends fairly well with the La Scalas. The audyssey config certainly helped things overall vs the other night2 points

Haha ... here's mine ... smaller, 12" woofer Seriously thinking about a new box2 points

Well crap.. It does blend better after runngng audyssey, rather than just eyeballing it by hand before. Still very much lower than I'm used to, but it's not as annoying with proper EQ and integration.2 points

https://www.lifx.com/products/lifx Expensive but the A19 has worked very well in the first few hours. First 'smart thing' in the house. I'll get a second so both will be used in our three season back room. These would definitely add to a theater room's ambience. Lots of colors and many white light options (warm to cool). The brightness range can be adjusted 2-100% (1100 lumens max) in 1% increments.1 point

Well I'm excited to finally be moving towards Dolby Atmos! I ordered my Atmos speakers and am awaiting the arrival of the Denon AVR-X6400H receiver. I know I will be looking for advice from you guys that already have moved to Atmos and Auro-3D so I'm excited to take my home theater to the next level. I thought I would document my journey along the way1 point

I guess those youngins got hitched ok? This place is vacant, everyone is at the pilgrimage. I hope the weather holds out for them.1 point

Thanks Dave....hey dubs. The UPA-700 may not be a worthwhile move if you have anything close to that 80 WPC. I would go out on a limb and say you may not benefit from the UPA-700. The other Denon receivers in your class seem to put out about that amount into five channels. Some more, some less. If you are looking to power just your front three, you would be much better off grabbing an XPA-3. 200 WPC will be noticeable.1 point

Yes--true for audio, too. Yes--GD is the first derivative of phase. But group delay audibility hasn't been established below 500 Hz. Here is a table on the most referenced report on the subject of group delay audibility (Blauert & Laws): There is some evidence that I've seen that GD audibility extends to bass frequencies (i.e., the audibility of port group delay in bass reflex cabinets), but no one has done the research to establish audibility threshold levels...just like no one has done the work to establish modulation distortion threshold levels vs. SPL and frequency. We could certainly use the data, but none apparently exists. Absolute phase audibility has been repeatedly shown to be inaudible (linear phase), but rate of change of phase vs. frequency can be audible (i.e., group delay). Chris1 point

I think Audyssey is at its best when making speakers of different makes and efficiency play nicely together.1 point

Yep, and during the shootout, you can hear the difference between all the guns. Great transient response.1 point

Folks, This is a steal. I previously owned this rig and it's primary use was driving a pair of Quartets. It was an incredible combination. I sold the Denons to Kimba after selling the Quartets for fuel $$$ for a trip to Chicago. I totally regret selling any of it. The Denon integrated amp, PMA-1080R is one sweet piece that really thumps with fast punchy bass drive and the midrange and highs are very detailed with little coloration at all. I highly recommend this rig for anyone with a pair of Heresys, Fortes, Quartets, Chorus, and even Cornwalls. You will be stoked at the sound that comes to your ears. Kimba, good luck with your sale. The audio was superb on nbc. I tbought it a lot of fun, the shots of the chapel were pretty stunning. I'm always a sucker for beaufiful churches and this certainly didn't disappoint. You still going to Hope? @WillyBob1 point

Oh cable isn't an issue. It's about 50 ft and coiled up out of frame. Working on wife acceptance today and then I'll run fresh cable behind the TV along with all the rest. I need to build a new TV stand so it can move backwards in line with the mains as well. It doesn't look like very good wood underneath the carpet, so I may shave it down, pull out all the hanging eyelets, and spray paint the grill solid flat black. Just making sure it's suitable for the long haul before I go through the effort.1 point

Can you turn the Yamaha over? That should give you enough cable to run it behind the other speaker on the right side... Never mind, that would leave the Yamaha logo upside down. Unless it could be flipped too...?1 point

Probably 2 cuft size. I have a 15" sub and the driver goes into a pretty good sized 3 cuft box. Will any of these help? I'm not sure Erich H will sell them unless you buy a DIYSoundgroup.com kit, but if he will he also offers blank front baffles you can cut to taste, https://www.diysoundgroup.com/flat-pack-cabinets/kit-flat-packs/home-theater-flat-packs.html1 point

@Aguero90, You might want to create your own "For Sale" ad instead of piggy backing off of @rennoc442's ad. I am sure you meant no disrespect but you may be taking some of his thunder. Bill1 point

Anyone else watch what just happened for the first 15 minutes of the third period? Scheifele. Fleury. That "old" goalie is playing a lot better than he used to. Jets poured it on and could not get through! These two teams want it bad and are willing to work for it. Tough luck for the eastern teams if they don't man up, and soon. Best game yet of the conference round yet!1 point

I had some smaller ga flat 6 conductor at one time that could be rolled up round; still looking oh, I wouldn't worry about interference from different speaker wire channels; that comes from electrical power runs.1 point
