  4. Thanks Paul and Billy B. I am enjoying some Jimmy Smith over in RTM..................good 'ol Hammond Organ Jazz.............he is the one that started it all !! Love American Songbook............... HEY, did you know that Diana Krall and Tony Bennett just released their brand new jazz album together Friday ????? All three of us (David and Mossy, myself) PRE-ordered the album. I got the notification via my membership with Diana Krall, and passed on the news to the guys. So, on the Friday - release day, they got their copies in the mail ! I got a notice that mine has shipped. We are going to have a SYNC play Friday evening... All set to go in our own time zones............10:30PM. Eastern .... over in RTM. I will be sure to post here as well. Oh, there were a number of combinations you could order. The VERY expensive versions were actual signed copies !! Those were sold out RIGHT AWAY.. So, I settled for the standard vinyl version with a digital download option. There were CD versions with signed album artwork (sold out too!) and other combos... Ok, sorry for the long informational post. But, there you have it.... See you here Friday with photos

  7. Good evening / morning friends..................well, I know this is NOT vinyl, but I am enjoying a Sunday evening session with some of the gang over in RTM, and so after a good day of working around the home etc, I figured time to relax with some Floyd........I decided to go multi channel for a change, and so, with the full compliment of Klipsch Reference Premier engaged around Music Hall with the help of a Velodyne Foundation 15" subwoofer, it is pretty amazing ! Here then in an SACD DSD 5.1 presentation..........TDSOTM

  8. Well, I was at it again, enjoying LaScalas outdoors! This time for a company picnic. Turned all four loose for this one since it was a large area. Didn't get to crank 'em (family picnic) but did receive many comments on how clean and clear the sound was even from far away.

  10. Finally able to catch my breath so thought I do a quick post. House suffered no structural damage. Got lucky and all the big limbs that came down fell away from the house. Neighbors not so lucky. Trees down all over our area and no one I know has power other than generators. We have full emergency generator power where I work and I have been putting in full days since Sat. Probably won't have power at home for several more days and it's gonna take weeks to clean up my back yard. All in all feel pretty lucky. River is supposed to crest on Thurs. so still have that to worry about.

  12. same mistake I made, no words can describe this poor attempt at coffee, except I imagined somewhere in the chain of idea's, someone figured out a use for the used drive-thru coffee left-over grounds, and repackaged them …. so much for being green

Thinking digital, hoping that Mike may play some and post if like Born 2B Blue by the Space Cowboy @ Back in the High Life. Not certain on lp but, yes. Limited wireless or would do. Enjoying the selection. The American songbook...

  19. For your consideration: A newly restored pair of Klipsch Cornwall II’s. This pair was originally manufactured in a raw birch finish. Before doing any of the veneer work, I removed the trim pieces and re-finished the front and rear in a rust-oleum oil-based primer and satin black. The trim pieces were then replaced with solid walnut. The cabinets were surfaced with a beautifully figured “leopard walnut” veneer acquired from Joe at VeneerSupplies.com. This is a real wood veneer, not the cheap composite wood veneer used in similar offerings. Three coats of Waterlox finish were applied; For those of you not familiar with waterlox, it is a phenolic-resin modified tung-oil. It is my favorite finish as the tung-oil provides the best penetrating and drying qualities available while the resin allows the coatings to form a very strong film with an attractive sheen. Risers, were constructed in a similar fashion, as seen in the newest Cornwall III’s. The B2 crossovers were recapped with Dayton audio precision audio caps. The tweeters were upgraded with new titanium dome offerings by Bob Crites. The squawkers are K-57-K, and the woofers are K-34E. Resistance measurements are as you should expect from all of the drivers. The side walls have been lined with an open cell acoustic foam. The original grills are included, and they are in fair condition. I constructed an additional set in a sand-colored acoustically-transparent cloth as they were a better match for my room; both sets will be included. I made a custom Klipsch logo as well. The labels containing the serial numbers were in poor condition, and ugly in my opinion, so those have been replaced but the serial numbers have been conserved: 8634630, 8634631. My reason for selling: As you can see, they are too large for my room, and my better half hates that they are so large. But most of all, this is a labor of love for me, and I enjoyed putting in the countless hours of work. I am located in College Station, TX. I would highly prefer local pick-up due to their size. My asking price is 2,200, 2,000 1800 which is a steal compared to other offerings in the 3,500 to 4,500 range. I have attempted to make this ad comprehensive but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Here is the photo album: https://imgur.com/a/QaYi5r8

  20. Well that's good because my dad had heart disease, got a heart transplant and a few years later died from cancer where the defibrillator was while he was waiting for a heart. I am trying to be the longest lived male in our family, I have 1 year and 4 days to go to outlive any of them.

  24. The 1st paragraph is the one to pay attentions to, IF you have no history of heart disease at age 70 low does aspirin may be doing you little, if any benefit. You have to look at the NEJOM article to see exactly what they consider to be "history of heart disease." Travis

  25. Agreed. They also stated price as a negative. I don't know why as a years supply is about 5 dollars or so.

  26. Listening to one of my favorite concept albums from a great little metal band out of Austin, The Sword. This was their third album and my favorite by far. The whole album tells the story of group of mercenaries in space. Think "Heavy Metal" and you pretty much got it. There follow up albums have not had the same magic as this one IMO. If you like them do yourself a favor and check out Baroness or Mastadon.

  30. Out of my league on that. I am about audio. The best video I've ever seen wouldn't fool my cat. All flat as a pancake and I don't spend a lot of money on it. Quite happy with a 600.00 Epson projector...and all Heritage surround system with horn loaded sub. The audio fools my cat... Dave

  31. With most of PSUs weapons from last year now in the NFL, there are plenty of question marks at those positions. The good is that the Lions will be at home under White Out conditions. Always a tough environment for the opposition. Always brings out the best in the Lions. MU and MSU play OSU in Columbus. I don't see them losing at home. While others go thru a period of rebuilding, teams like OSU, Alabama, Clemson reload. Got to give them credit for it

  40. Yes you are correct. Unfortunate about being in the know. Hope all is well with you BTW. My point was, of all "blood thinners" I would characterize a baby aspirin a day (if indicated) as fairly harmless in comparison with its potential life saving effects.

Good luck with the ice maker water line, door hinge relocation, shelf relocation, wifi adjustments, and reloading everything, maybe before the last game of Sunday Night Football....

  44. The ring dual diaphragm design makes a lot of sense especially when you consider the need for a phase plug and the need to avoid diaphragm break-up modes at high frequencies. The BMS dual-diaphragm drivers also control any FM distortion (Doppler) that might show up at extremely high SPL due to the large pass band that it covers. Breaking that up into separate parts kills the growth of FMD above the crossover frequency (6.4 kHz). The fact that they can do it with polyester diaphragms also tells a good story from the standpoint of material shape stability of the moving diaphragm which moves as a ring rather as a membrane with higher order modes--like a drum head.
