No, I am an OSU alumni. That was some time ago, and it is always nice to see a Big Ten game. My kids also went to IU and Purdue where they had parents weekend on a football Saturday. I'm not a fan of pro football so, this is my favorite time of year for sports.

WillyBob made it to his Sister's in northern Indiana, and the La Scalas did fit inside his car. I'm not sure if he's still going to North Carolina, I can't imagine him driving over there with all the damage that Florence has caused. Ok, I jumped the Gun and read Daves post wrong. I apologize Dave. I have no idea what my freezers draw as far as power goes, My generator is running 15ish hours on a full tank (6 gallons) We got power back yesterday and promptly lost it 3 or so hours later. I like that idea Carl both my car and van are electronic fuel pumps I will look for the rail and see if I might have a piece for that

If I might opine....separate amp(s), when used with and compared to, an AVR does make a good deal of difference in movie mode. BUT, in movie mode you absolutely need a center to match up with the L&R AND a sub woofer. Yes, a phantom center can sound better than just L&R but you really need a dedicated center (redundancy alert: that matches the L&R, get that or don't waste the money because you will want a match later). I have found that a lot of amplifiers will fulfill the movie mode / surround sound whether 3.0 or 7.0 for us guys with non-uber expensive, dedicated rooms (read living room with wife) where two channel has always been more picky about the equipment I used. I see you have Cornwalls, me too (now after Heresy, Chorus IIs, Forte II, LaScala, Belles, KHorns), and I will tell you that for movies you need a sub and I would submit that REGARDLESS of the L/R/C brand / model you use, you need a sub. It makes a helluva impact. Not pimping a brand, even though I currently use it, take a look at SVS subs. Could you hide a cylinder somewhere. Get a sub, get a sub, get a sub

I think it's not a bad idea, the title is kind of misleading the facts. It's CBD they want to use, not the part that gets you high, only the parts that help with many other things which made CBD legal in all states. UNLESS they change their tune and go all out, who knows the intent besides the normal making money part.

I am the last person on a dead end as well. While I understand the issues of maintaining the system. I lay the blame directly at the operators feet simply put they could take the silly amounts of money they spend maintaining the right of ways and begin burying the lines, most of the problem would be solved permanently. Of course then you would not need all the line men, all the equipment they pay for to support working 25 feet in the air, you would not need to pay the crews to cut the branches year after year etc...etc...etc... I am quite positive my position is well known to the electric co-ops. I am also sure many people would fight it. I doubt anyone could say burying the lines would hurt service. I am positive they make an informed decision to maintain a faulty system for monetary reasons. That being the case they should expect people to be unhappy and to express there displeasure. All the above said I fully understood I would loose power and I frankly thought I would be down longer. while not happy I do understand

The last hurricane that I had to use my gas generator I filled up all my gas cans and the 3 cars that we had at the time. I used the fuel in the gas tanks to run my generator. At the time all my vehicles had a Schrader valve on the fuel rail that was normally used as a place to check fuel pressure. I made a hose that fit the valve and every time I needed to fill a fuel can I'd install the hose on the vehicle and turn the key on. The pump in the tank would activate and pump the fuel out. The vehicles gave me about 50 or 60 gallons worth of storage.

I had 20 Gallons on standby and generator full as well, both car and van full all the food and water we would need...............It was looking like we may have outage for a week or more so I was trying to fill cans as they emptied. If you wait to fill them stations run out of fuel then you are up the creek. When you say Jerry cans are those the old military style or the red 5 gallon cans ? I would like to find a few of the military style cans. Around here they want 20+ for the red 5 gallon cans. I thought the same way as you If my starter on tractor had not failed I could possibly have saved the road from wash out by hitting it some point in between the rain drops, as it stands now it is going to take some doing to repair it. Small rain storm this evening and power is back out again, Without a doubt this is the WORST power company I have had the displeasure of using, we are constantly loosing power I understand it in a heavy or big storm such as Florence or even severe Storms but this goes out all the time with small rains, or winds. Please enlighten me How exactly does 1 get the fuel for the generator needed to keep 2 packed freezers from spoiling 2000.00 in meat while staying HOME ? I was not told to EVACUATE I am no where near any of the evacuation orders..............Easy for someone with no irons in the fire to run off at the mouth. It's not an exact science. My egg numbers are down too. Heat, diet changes, stressors, amount of daylight, etc can all impact egg output. Focus less on the eggs right now and more on the chicken life cycle and your flock's temperment /personality. In other news, I'm expecting 100 meat chicks to arrive on Thursday. So where you're scratching your head on egg output, I'll be doing the same with regard to maximizing final dress out weight at 12 weeks, reducing dead loss, and the logistics of it all - this is a massive jump in scale for us and I'm nervous as hell. These guys are supposed to be 100% our poultry source for next year.

Finally able to catch my breath so thought I do a quick post. House suffered no structural damage. Got lucky and all the big limbs that came down fell away from the house. Neighbors not so lucky. Trees down all over our area and no one I know has power other than generators. We have full emergency generator power where I work and I have been putting in full days since Sat. Probably won't have power at home for several more days and it's gonna take weeks to clean up my back yard. All in all feel pretty lucky. River is supposed to crest on Thurs. so still have that to worry about.
