  8. So high lights of 2018? Or NY's resolutions? Rescuing Jake (Norwich Terrier). Loving the new audio gear (Spatial M3) ATI 1502. Surviving 2 hurricanes. Made a Pilgrimage. Moved in with LF (kept my place). Mostly healthy (will turn 70 in January). Resolutions: Less social media......more music. More exercise. Work on 2 pack abs. Laugh more.

  15. Sorry I was late to the gate... caught the post last night.. And having coming off Christmas eve... With the traditional 7 fishes.. That's why those would be my choice... And I'm not a fan of bechamel and fish veloute to make a supreme suace... For seafood.. But I'm a big fan of espagnole and demi... Can't beat the rich velvety rich flavors of demi ! With your veal / beef / and lamb....

  20. At the moment it is "Drive" from "Live At Carnegie Hall, Joe Bonamassa, An Acoustic Evening". I like this version better than the Official Music Video!!!!! I really like this song, it has a haunting sound!!!!!

  27. It’s the dynamics and hair trigger transients that creates the sense of realism. Even a small set of Klipsch monitors do a respectable job.

  28. I had coffee this morning. This afternoon I unhooked cables from the vintage HK and hooked them up to the ATI. Later I will have a cocktail to complete the trifecta. Who can top that? Good to see Tigerman make an appearance. Anyone who is not familiar with the RTM thread should stop in and kick the wheels. Gary has done a great job in continuing the thread that our bud Boxx started way back when. Mike....google Caprice Bistro, Wilmington, NC and tell me what to order from their NY's menu.

  31. This is, without a doubt, the best advice we can give to every audio hobbyist - newbie or "old hand". Given that this is in the General Forum section it reminds me the big difference between the Home Theater Hobbyist compared to the 2 Channel Crowds needs. Imo, there can be more playing around with different amps in the latter but for Home Theater/Multichannel music, folks use SS amps that should be pretty consistent in their sound when comparing similar speced units (including impedance requirements). That is where the beginner should decide which formats they want to play and the purchase processor which suits their needs....Affordable all-in-one AVRs really have come along with upperend trickling down to lower end units and all getting less expensive compared with 15 years ago. Rooms, Obstacles and Environment is definitely on the short list.

  34. Just received my ebony Forte iiis. Haven’t hooked up yet but the workmanship is outstanding. The ebony finish with silver luster grills look gorgeous. I will post pics and initial listening impressions later. FYI - these are my first Klipsch speakers and I bought them without an audition - excited but a little nervous.

  36. My buddy runs a PrimaLuna integrated I think it's a Dialogue Premium......I got to say.......listening to Nora Jones.....Eva Cassidy sounds amazing.......low volume detail is acceptional...He also runs Chorus II with the Crites update kit. I think he runs a Vincent 701 phono preamp. George

  37. Good afternoon friends here on Coffee and Cables..........Merry 7th day of Christmas! ............I know, I've been absent from the group, but very active on RTM and my latest new hobby - Amateur Radio, talking all over the country and beyond! Anyway, taking a vacation day and enjoying a LIVE concert from the Berlin Philharmonic as they are having their gala performance for New Years! It is already coming u on 7pm. their time.... Congrats Chuck on those new speakers! Man, they are very simple but I imagine sound great !! an 'out of the box' sound clearly open I would imagine.....Watched the videos too! Here is a photo of a brand new CD from Thailand (import) and my genuine 16 oz. Startbuck's Christmas Blend mug, and filled with same, which arrived under the tree... 🌲 Enjoy your New Years EVE Day everyone...

  40. When traveling, I always enjoy local architecture, including churches. This obviously shows the influence that Catholic Spain had over the Philippines for 300 yrs. Interestingly, the church was built in the early 1950s, the construction headed up by a U.S. Army chaplain. It was originally built for leprosy patients, so they wouldn't have to enter the nearby hospital grounds to attend church.
