The young man followed the wizard into his laboratory. Using various means, the wizard had prepared the young man carefully. The young man had listened attentively and trustingly as the wizard explained his theories of how to transform electrum into waves that could reduce the most resistive person into a slave dependent constantly requiring more. Some very non-threatening or unnerving demonstrations had been used, but nothing to inspire any suspicion about what was to come. He’d been shut inside a room for a few moments and primordial fears of isolation and self-awareness had begun to grow, but the wizard had opened the vault door to the light before these really became alarming. In fact, he’d been gentle, disarming, and quite humorous in fact. The day had begun when the young man’s priest of the auld religion had offered to introduce him to the wizard. The young man had often served this priest at the weekly rites and trusted him. The priest had told him of this might wizard and his great works, and the stories were mesmerizing. When the priest told the young man that he was a devotee and confidant of the wizard and could get him an audience, he gladly accepted. The wizard had a fearsome but also disarming visage. However, the eyes pierced and sparkled as if powerful reactions were going on just behind them. However, while a mystery, the eyes only seem to command attention in a non-threatening way. The young man found out later this had been thoroughly rehearsed and practiced successfully on thousands of innocents. Finally, the wizard bade the young man sit in a lone chair curiously placed in the midst of the laboratory. Without a further word, the wizard stepped to a large console and began adjusting nobs. Moving to other equipment nearby that clearly showed the craft of the ancients, he made a few adjustments there. Then, he activated the system. The first assault on the young man instantly fixated him and rendered him both unable and uninterested in resisting. While there was something of sadness in the waves that enveloped him, there was also a promise of a joy and satisfaction to come. The waves came in 4 distinct segments, and each took the young man on a journey of love, joy, peace, sadness, self-exploration, and expansion of various centers of the mind. But the final assault was transformative. The moment it started he knew he’d never be the same but could do nothing but sit, transfixed. Over the next few minutes it seemed to almost toy with him like a woman, moving him so very, very close to a mental climax of some sort then suddenly backing off and coming at him again from another angle. However, eventually the end came. It came in the form of a mighty descending C major scale, but not the same old C major scale the young man had played and heard so many times. And certainly not the most natural and non-threatening C major scale so many engaging and harmless tunes were written in. This one started as though the young man were hearing the voice of God from on high. Transfixed, he listened as this omnipotent and irresistible voice descended towards him one massive step at a time arriving finally at the fundamental C0 that few had heard before and represented the limit of human ability to perceive. Then, it was over. 8 notes, and they died away what remained were the 8 points the wizard had explained to him patiently during the day which had interested him, but now became his gateway to the world of sonic magic. In his stupor, he asked the wizard how much power he’d been subjected to and the wizard, glancing over at his instruments said “Oh, about 5 watts.” Well, thought the young man, "I suppose no harm was done" and went on his way imprinted as forever a disciple of the great wizard of Hope. Nearly 50 years later, still in in the service of the wizard, the same man labored to preserve the works of his master. Wonderful things he felt was his duty to ensure remained for the future. Then he read on a box in the master’s hand: “Saint-Saens Organ Symphony. Copied from the tape sent me by my ‘slightly dishonest friend.’ This dub made 700823” And it all came rushing back. The careful preparation and reduction of any resistance to the wizard followed by this “tape” that had been made by the wizard just before my arrival. And now, right here in my hands. Before you dismiss my story as an old man’s fantasy examine your own past. For many of you have likely at some point been subject to this transformative magic spell by one of the wizard’s secretive disciples. Think on it, and tell your story if you dare.3 points

I agree with dirtmudd in using non ethanol fuel, but I suspect that by stating you do use the expensive premixed fuel you are referencing a product like TruFuel which is 100% gasoline. Again I agree with dirtmudd and hit it with some carb cleaner and replace the old fuel with new if it has been a long time since it has been started, Pull of the fuel line and blow into it and listen for bubbling in the tank. Possibly a small crack in the bulb and it actually is not priming.2 points

I hate it for you seadog. My regular stomping ground is that white quartz about 30 miles east of you. I try to go in March, May, September and October. Last 2 weeks of May are my favorite, I understand others have timing conflicts. At least get some cool beverages and some Royal Red shrimp (if you can find them) and oysters down and make the best of it. You might hit the outlet at Miramar. Make the wife happy. Happy Trails. http://eatalabamaseafood.com/fish/royal-red-shrimp/2 points

Congratulations Apex, they are really nice, I tried to explain how good they were when I first heard them. I didn't want to sound like I was overdoing it and was really glad when everyone in Hope thought they sounded as good as I thought they did, being I am biased with the original Forte's and thought the 3 rd version was easily better than the first two. It's going to be rough waiting, but worth it.2 points

I have heard this on the forum before but didn't know what it was . Thanks for the video. For my speakers, I just went into tone control and turned up the bass a bit on the front speakers and now I'm happy with the bass.2 points

It is rare to find the RF 7's lack bass, especially in a 2 ch system. I read in the subwoofer section that the OP is also having trouble with the sub. It seems he's off to a rocky start. Is this a new avr or were speakers working fine on it before getting the sub and RF 7's? The speakers can be temporarily positioned on a side wall to see if the problem persist. Try the speakers set to Large without a sub and then set to Small with a subwoofer. Use the sub crawl with placement.2 points

Actually you are right and I thought about that after I posted The Belle is wider and not as deep, the extra width could help the Belle fit a few TV's that the LaScala can't . I love your Setup2 points

Of course I mix it myself. 100 shakes! The oil comes in small containers. You use one can to a gallon of gas. I have the strange engine configuration in mine, it's a 4 stroke with intake and exhaust valves that uses 2 stroke gas and no conventional oil. Took me a while to wrap my head around that concept but it's never given me a spec of trouble and is an absolute hoss.1 point

The center of the storm hit about 30 miles east of me. If I hadn't been watching the news I would have never known it. We've had more wind and rain on countless occasions than this. It was basically a non event here. I hope others fared as well.1 point

Haven't looked at this thread until now and really enjoyed it. Need more pictures. I got my license when those mid-late 60's muscle cars hit the streets. Factory race cars. Look at them now. Wow! Sweet Challenger pics I remember riding to school in a 1971 Challenger. Down to the coast (300 miles) in it too. Rough even on the young cheeks back then. I would still like to have a new ZL1 but I'm past that. I'll post a stock photo of 'ole Magic Carpet Ride. All options, including oldtimers favorite, acoustical glass. 2012 Buick Lacrosse Touring. In the garage with 9,009 miles.1 point

Most likely, this is because of one of three reasons: Somebody employed at the plant were buying them to use for a year or so and then re-sell them to get money for more expensive Klipsch models on their next purchase...and wanted the terminals at the bottom instead of the top...OR.... New people in the final assembly end of things....or a certain dealer request came in. The labels were put on the speakers AFTER the back panel was installed in those days. The testing booth in those days was set up so that bottom terminals were actually more difficult to hook up the source wire to for the final frequency sweep testing before boxing for shipment...so it was most likely done due to a special request of some kind. You'd be surprised at how many special requests came in back in those days...and the company always did their best to fulfill those special requests back in those days, since Klipsch was still more a "word-of-mouth" advertising company than anything other mode of advertising. Customer support sells speakers! Customers often came in to hand-pick the veneered panels used for their K-horns...many of them famous singers and such...Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker...to name just a very few of the many who did so...it was a customer option for the K-horns....especially for the rosewood and ebony ones...and Belles. It was always nice to have the option to buy a pair of K-horns in rosewood and a single belle for a center channel...and hand select the panels for a wonderful match of the three!1 point

Just this week, the owner of this bad boy offered to even trade me for my '23 T. 871 blower on a 496 big block, tubbed with all the goodies. It was a long and difficult decision... The offer is still open. I really need to quit looking at this monster. If it were a short bed with a toned down paint job, do believe I'd be driving a new rod Matt ♪ ♫ ♪1 point

Children, children, don't argue about West Coast sound versus New England sound. Leave it to your elder -- 69 in November -- to point out the real debate prompted by those Maxell ads (the print and TV versions were similar, but not identical) is which cassette tape was the best? Who can forget Memorex? I know I've tried. Poor Ella Fitzgerald sold her good name to peddle that junk. It was my misfortune to briefly fall for their pitch. The high frequencies recorded on Memorex cassettes disappeared quickly.1 point
