Yes, sir! I picked them up on Saturday. They are in really great shape (tad dusty, couple of nicks and scratches). I haven’t listened to them extensively, though. Just some music every now and then, and the Red Sox games :-) The wife and I are moving into our new house very slowly, but I’m hoping this weekend we’ll be able to set them up in our (new) living room. Super excited. Do you know what, exactly, I should be on the lookout regarding drivers issues or whatnot? They... sound good. I’m happy.6 points

Not quite like Arizona but here a few Big Sky shots. We get some cool cloud formations up at our hideout. It's hard to catch a night-time lightening flash with a Blackberry but I like this one. This was one night that I wish I had my good camera gear. Another cell phone shot near home.5 points

Ha, yeah the hills in last two shots do look similar but are about 180 miles apart. I understand your friend's sentiment about Montana weather - here's a shot of our place near Augusta on New Years Day, it had warmed up to 10 below zero and we had to walk in because our road was drifted over. Not much there to block the views though.3 points

You can Bi-Amp if you wish BUT your tweeter will probably not use more than a couple of watts==Most of your power goes to the woofers.3 points

Feel exhilerated and foolish at the same time. After living in this condo for almost two and a half years I made a minor alteration to my sub positioning and everything just changed for the better. Things had seemed pretty good, although I sometimes felt my bass was a bit weighted towards the front room corner where I had my sub. On a lark (and partially for aesthetics), I moved it about four feet along the short wall away from the corner. Holy crow what a difference! I had it dialed back to -3.5, increased it to +1.5 in the new position and everything just came came together for 2.1 stereo. The hint of boominess that arose with some recordings is now gone. Clarity, evenness and balance just dialed in. I can’t beleive it took so long to discover this. Another bonus is that my wife much prefers the optics of the placement. The difference four feet along a short wall can make.2 points

I have experienced similar improvements in the past by moving the subwoofer location.2 points

From the feedback I heard that is anything but true. The horn in of itself is different, and the port designs are also different. They may be similar in timbre, but they wouldn't be nearly as seamless as the 450. Again, the 62 is a fantastic speaker, and I have no problems recommending it when all else fails, but if you had the option and the budget, the 450 is the speaker designed to mate with your configuration.2 points

Yes and no. You will get some benefits with bass reflex with the ports being in the front, but you may also get benefits from plugging the port on the 450 to make it a sealed design. With the center, my thoughts would be the priority of the drivers matching as they pan across the front soundstage - the most active - would be much more important than bass response from a speaker that you're going to cross into the sub anyway.2 points

Sounds like a story for the road trip thread. Congrats!2 points

Here is a pic of the LaScala pair not long after shoehorned temporary setup. They cleaned up nice except for DIY badge misplacement from previous owner and someone left a minor burn mark from a cig or something and a couple of watermarks on top of one. Not perfect but, I can live with the bargain. 2 college guys loaded them for me and some electronics into a 2000 Volvo wagon. It was plug and play.:2 points

OK; had to share this ... spend $10 and very happy Finally got some "pro" badges for my KPT-904's ... now they look "professional." Yes; cheap Chinese knock-offs, but Klipsch doesn't have any originals anymore Cheers, Emile2 points

I use a heat gun, and keep the vinyl warm as I peel - it stops any adhesive from sticking to the surface.2 points

The KLFs (20 and 30) along with the larger CF, were the sleepers of the Klipsch lines. Klipsch would do right by offering them again though when you look at the current prices of Forte and Cornwall along with the multi woofer configuration, figure them to be more than twice their original prices. Bad part about Klipsch offering them again is that would drive the prices up on the used market, as with Forte and Cornwall.... The good and the bad.1 point

I do not use the Audyssey even though I have done a calibration in the last week. I can get far superior sound by using the built in equalizers and input levels combined with the speaker levels in this AVR. This is the most versatile AVR I've ever had and the sound options are almost endless.1 point

Basically you stuff some foam in the port of the 450. That way you aren't putting holes in the cabinet and damaging it. Ported designs for centers are nice, but I question the need due to the general XO on most of the speakers and the usual roll-off at 80 Hz.1 point

A widow is at her husband's funeral, sitting in the front row. One of the husband's friends taps her on the shoulder and asks, "may I get up and say something?" She replies, "yes, please." He stands up, walks to the front, clears his throat and says, "Plethora" and returns to his seat. The woman turns around and says, "thank you, that means a lot."1 point

My wife knows a lady that runs a business, she has 3 Great Pyrenees dogs and trains them to interact with older folks in nursing homes, children in hospitals, even with Pre-k kids in school. The dogs are so big and strong, but very gentle and well behaved. He company is called Bentley's Buddies....beautiful dogs. I'll bet your kids will love Sam.1 point

No way I'm easy to get along with, not like Jim, or Oldtimer, they are cranky sometimes. No, I'm the monkey here, or really it's Orangutan, but with my family tree there could be a little of anything in there ? But I am related to a pirate, my sister did one of those genealogy family tree things and found that out. Jean laffite, my mother was not thrilled at all. See a resemblance ?1 point

Not much time this week to work on the splits. Tonight I mounted the SpeakOn connector in the LF sections in the pocket I routed out. I had to sand and paint the bottom right of the photo and I used a brush, which is why it looks smooth. I'll go over it with a roller later and it'll get that awesome texture.1 point

My wife looked at the sub and says "You've got a real problem". and I said, "look, I don't complain about your shoes..." that was the end of that story. lol.1 point
