  7. Would you compare the "eight o clock" red bag, as resembling the red bag in community coffee ? Just a thought, as if they might be the same packaging facility,, with a convenient printing press, with duplicate available stock supplies.... but they could of slipped some mr mcCrappee in there by design lol ….

  8. Rungren was great in hits of his own and some producing like Grand Funk. Stevie for sure. Still disgusted J Giels Band is not in. Not enough LP sales but a 3 hour live show that most hall of fame recipients could not keep up with.

  11. I went over to a friends house last night, actually his soon to be rent house. He had some copper pipes that need to be soldered so I told him I'd swing by. I've helped him with other projects in the past and I guess that he was feeling a little guilty so he bought me a bottle of vodka and gave it to me as I was leaving. He knew I liked potato vodka so he bought me THIS. I've never had it or even heard of it before but can't wait to try it. Maybe this weekend or next week.

  13. Okies...will soon put up a wav recording from my latest MMG treatment and success. 1950 recording of Artie Shaw's Gramercy 5. I think it will speak for itself. Bought at a flea market and it had clearly been played and was quite visibly dirty. At the moment it sounds better than most modern recordings. Have a 1951 Louis Armstrong being treated and will wait on it before making full report. Dave

  18. the Woody Creek Potato Vodka story was interesting... interesting enough that I plan to chisel in an itinerary for a Saturday afternoon excursion to a liquor establishment for an acquisition, even though 4" of rain is forecast for today, that should make the trip down to White Rock lake a little more exclusive, should I find some... I almost want to experiment with some hash brown's in a copper frying pan, with bacon and cheese and a touch of Woody Creek, being careful not to catch the kitchen on fire lol... that should neutralize the day.

  24. Speaking of Mars, since July 31st, it’s been as close as it’s been since 2003, and as close as it will be until 2035. Here in Southeast Michigan, on the rare clear night, it can be seen low in the southwest sky. It looks red. Go figure.

  25. I have been giving my neighbors a gift for the last 4 years. I have been the sole caretaker of the drive way (probably 12 families on the 1/2 mile long sand drive) as you may imagine a sand road needs a lot of attention. I had an 80 hp tractor that was to big to use around the house and its sole purpose was to drag a box blade or rake up and down the drive. With the recent rainfall from hurricane Florence (21 inches) the drive way was washed out on the hill. One of the neighbors works for a company with heavy equip. he worked a deal to borrow there backhoe for a day. He then borrowed a tractor with a blade from someone else. I am doing what I can to help with the washed out road. The helper and I assume his adult son pull up to me and ask me to stay off the washed out area till it dries more. The son starts cussing twords me telling me I am the reason the road is F-ed up and I should park my tractor etc...etc...etc... Now little did they know I had been questioning the intelligence of having 6000 dollars tied up in a tractor that is only good for the drive that not one of the others had ever offered a nickel to help with fuel or maintenance. and now they have the audacity to kick a gift horse in the mouth Craigslist was but a few clicks away, I get a call and within hours the tractor has a new owner, and I have cash. I took the money and told the wife we will need a 4X4 in case of road issues in the future, I found a cheap 1988 Bronco 2 rebuilt engine stick shift 4x4 with 31" tires. Needs some minor work but I have plenty of time Put some dough in the boys savings accounts........ Next my dad finds my dream truck (Almost) 1992 extended cab f-250 7.3 IDI Diesel with 144,000 miles I trade him my little gas miser car and the rest of my tractor cash. been having some fun tinkering with the pickup and the bronco Hurricane Michael came through and dropped 4 inches of rain and the ditches that I supposedly filled in with my tractor are now full of sand again, the road has some decent ruts starting and I am more than happy to drive around the problems Heres a pic of my Truck that I got today

Once they're gone and the house is empty I can't help myself. The collective joy they bring us always outweighs the pain of their departure.

  36. My hair fell out when I was having chemo. Twice. In the winter my head was always cold. In the summer when I stepped out of the car into the sunlight almost immediately I could feel the sun burning my scalp. No big deal but I'm glad it's back.

  38. Besides dress pants, I only have 2 pairs of jeans, shorts all year unless I will be outside all day. Probably because of the size of your head. That's funny, I laughed at this news story from New Orleans this morning. Fall has finally arrived in New Orleans, with Friday morning temperatures on the south shore in the 60s and in the 50s on the North Shore. Time to pull out your parkas, y'all. It was the coolest night in New Orleans in five months, according to the National Weather Service office in Slidell.

  41. DizRotus, I've read every word of this entire thread (which is impressive) and I've read every word in the recipe and TAA article. I have some very important albums to clean up and this seems to be the best way ever created to do this. I've scoured the "Record Revirginizer" website for clues to whether or not it is the same formulation, but there just isn't enough information. I am so very grateful to you and the others who have contributed to this amazing thread with some of the best information ever gathered on record preservation and cleaning, and I need to know if you still have any CYASTAT SN left, and if so can I follow the instructions in 109 to get some from you? My biggest question is about how to "soft boil" in a pyrex double glass boiler. I'm not sure how you place your glass vase, in the water, or on top of something perforated to allow boiling without the water touching the glass? For what it's worth, I'm a part time member of the San Antonio Symphony and I'm in the San Antonio Brass Band (Soprano Cornettist) and the San Antonio Wind Symphony and I'm on the board of directors for both of those groups as well. So, music is a big part of my life, nothing but family, my friends and my dog are more important to me. Again, thanks for the information and your contributions! David M.

  42. That is very cool, and a good picture. Do you plan on bringing it back to a place for gatherings, just wondering because it looks perfect for that. I love those kinds of structures, we added a much smaller one than that to the front garden 16x24, and it gets used more than we would have ever expected. BUT we do not have a back patio like yours either. I was looking for something similar to what you did, shade and some ceiling fans/electricity and a couple of speakers for music. Edit; I was thinking about that, that was one huge deck under there, that would get expensive fast at that size. We used pea gravel and on the walkways going to it since it's what our driveway is. Cheap and easy, just hose it down if needed and blow off leaves, not the most convenient but good enough for what it is. We did put stepping stones to make it easier to walk out there, it's kind of off the left side of the front porch. .

  43. I'm guessing you'd probably be best off having one built by a car stereo shop that specializes in building subs. Or, you can piece one together from many of the pre-fab boxes out there. You're right; there aren't many if any available for home use. I have a Klipsch kg sw subwoofer. While it doesn't reach below 36Hz, and it's not quite the kind of subwoofer you're thinking of, it's filled my needs quite nicely.
