  1. Back surgery on March 14th. Got home Saturday and slept. This morning I had to fire up the PM51’s and sub to let my Dad hear. Picked Chet Atkins Mr Sandman. Mr Klipsch would be happy! The emotional reaction I get from these speakers blows me away. Tears were rolling down my face! Why? Never happened before unless the song had a personal connection. I’m a believer Mr. Klipsch!

  13. Brenda, my wife had the same surgery as yours five years ago. It gave her life back to her but it actually took her ~1 to 1 1/2 years to fully recover. Don't rush it. There'll still be concerts to go to in a year. Enjoy your Klipsch. I do--every day. I believe they've been largely responsible for staying in good health over the past 10 years or so. Chris

  19. That would be nice but the only problem would be he would probably OD on Italian deserts and coffee, not the worst way to go. Now I feel like eating a cannoli and the only authentic place is an hour away and closed.

  22. Hello all! I'm looking to relocate my office, which means I won't have enough room for my current setup so I'm looking to downsize. All items are in mint condition and working perfectly! Forte III cherry - $1800 for the pair R-112SW - $275 each (2 available) For the Emotiva fans - XSP-1 gen 2 Preamp - $650 Sold XPA-1L (maybe gen 2? not sure) Monoblock Amp - $375 each (2 available) ERC-3 gen 2 CD Player - $300 DC-1 DAC - $300 XDA-2 DAC (gen 2) - $300 I'd much rather sell these locally (Indiana), but I do have boxes for everything except the subs in the event someone wants to pay for shipping. All prices are OBO, I'm also listing the bundle on the Emotiva forum. Thanks for looking!

  23. Was it really that easy? the new Khorns have backs which allows non-tight corner placement. And I currently see 2 pair of Khorns on eBay with backs added to them. I've been absent for about 8-9 years but I never recalled people saying you could put backs on the Khorns for more flexible placement. There was always a lot of talk of "false wall" building but I don't recall anybody EVER mentioning you could close in the backs to give you more flexibility in corner placement. Is this a new phenomenon? I'm in the market for a pair and was considering ordering a new pair from Klipsch. But I also see a couple of nice used pairs on eBay with modified backs on them. I don't recall ever seeing that back in the 90's and 2000's.

  24. The guy says don't email and pester him about the condition. $2,000.00 per speaker 8G for the two pairs if you go with the quantity buy. https://littlerock.craigslist.org/ele/d/amity-klipsch-speaker-la-scala-and/6813462539.html

  25. Well this is my second quad. I put these woofers in my other 30's in my main system last year about the same time. Compared to stock.....better build quality but most of all they just flat out sound better. They're tighter, cleaner, punchier and give the speaker an overall better sound. Although I power mine with low powered tubes most of the time, they love big power thrown at them. .....and THAT my friend, puts a big grin on my face.[emoji39] Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  26. Got some pine needles today, and yesterday, but it's not as crazy as it sounds I needed to mulch the garden. A few years ago the wife came back from the feed store with the back of the Jeep Cherokee full of bails of pine straw and I put it out and it didn't go very far, it's a good size garden. The bails cost $60-$70 so I told her I was going to take the tractor and some plastic contractor bags and go across the street and see if I could get some, nothing but tall trees for acres. . In an hour I filled up 4 giant bags and the tractor bucket, which went further than the bails. So raked almost 1.5 hours between yesterday and today and saved at least $120, yes I am cheap and need the exercise. Still far from done, it will take a bunch more trips, but there is no rush. .

  27. & I'm ticked..... had to go to the Publix 5 mi north for decent produce (the store, different name in the middle of the 10k sq ft mansions & Lambos a mile away just has crappy sometimes rotten onions, green bananas, $3 stalks of celery) they can keep it. So I get the good stuff priced right then go to their bakery where I've been able to get canollis without the d*mn chocolate chips in it for three years.... no more! Past couple of months there is always chips in it. To buy the empty shells costs the same. (red faced smiley with steam coming off my head) Was it just that particular Italian family I was a part of for a while that doesn't like choc chips in the cream? `Cause that is my way now too! I still like the guts with the plain cream, cocoa powder on top of the whip cream that's on top. The canolli cream is easy to make but the shells... might have to pay for them

  28. Does it feel funny saying, wife. What is that picture? I love swimming and snorkeling in the Carribean but don't think I would do it at night when I can't see what's there or especially at night with lights. I have seen enough large fish snorkeling, which is not as bad because I can see them, but in the dark, they can see me but I can't see them. Not that it really matters I guess, if a Baracuda decides to attack you there is nothing you can do anyway.

  29. Hello ! Great your research on my region 👍😜 In Beaucaire there was a huge fair, one of the largest in Europe, from 1217 until the 19th century. There were up to 170 boats per fair on the Rhône. https://www.persee.fr/doc/geoca_0035-113x_1953_num_28_4_1380 In Beaucaire there are also Roman remains of Via Domitia and around less than 12 miles away, there are the arenas of Nimes and Arles, an ancient theater in Arles and of course the Pont du Gard. There is also known the medieval castle of Beaucaire and that of Tarascon in front. And then not far from Les Baux de Provence and Arles where Van Gogh painted many paintings. Sorry for this long "off topic", so back to Forte III 😁 I agree, it's better to play the tone controls rather than changing the speakers.

  30. When they say "Don't drink the water", don't forget about the ice. I'm a "simple man"... We would eat off the taco wagons and thoroughly enjoy it, when we went to PuertoPenasco. Ya gotta like the soda... Real sugar. No HFCS.. The German's did better teaching Mexicans to make beer than the Hawaiians.

  31. Oh I tanned, just had a reddish tint to it. OK I lie, I burned. I'm done peeling though and it doesn't hurt to sleep on the back. Oh yeah, back home with clean water and margaritas that CAN get you drunk. Wasnt impressed with the food there either. Tried everything from higher end places to locals recs and didn't take a strong liking to anything there.... Wife and I got violently sick for 24 hours as well...

  38. Ahh yes, I love LS power, I have a 2001 SS Camaro LS1 6 speed manual with just 89K on the clock. It's loaded with leather and all the caddy stuff as well as a kick azz stereo. It's got LS6 heads with a lumpy cam and associated parts, long tubes and no cats (400rwhp), aluminum flywheel and LS7 clutch with a Tick Perf. adjustable master, lowered on Sam Strano springs with Strano sway bars,UMI tube K-member and A arms and all tube torque arm panhard rod and lower control arms with subframe connectors and a driveline loop and riding on Koni shocks. It's set up as a canyon carver riding on sticky 18" Michelin Pilot Sports,275's up front and 315's in the back. Fun little car that can run with cars that are a lot more expensive.

  39. I have the opposite issue. I am only selling this pair by way of having another pair - and we did discuss selling the core of the Mac tube system entirely (MX110, Thorens TD124, and Sonicapped versions of these along with this pair). We have the VRDs/Peach after all. But the recent additional playtime with the Mac setup with vinyl very quickly reinforced with me as well as her that the core Mac tube setup will stay. She’s even more of a keeper than the Mac tubes with vinyl and they arent going anywhere.

  45. Thanks to your location info, I looked up Beaucaire and ended up learning a lot about the religious wars in the South of France during the Medieval period! BTW, on some forums I use a picture of the Pont du Gard as my avatar. Also, people, please don't mangle your F3s! They're nearly perfect as is.
