  1. That will work fine. They really only need to be within a foot of the corners.

  2. I think that's pretty much the price in Europe. When I just saw the Norwegian advert for the CW3, I noticed that a little further down is a La Scala II for 40,000 Norwegian kroner. Whilst the price for the CW3 is normal I would say that the La Scala II is a bargain. Of course it's a higher sum, but if you have the space and can afford it, I'd go for the La Scala in a heartbeat. https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=332029204

  8. @Luca Pescatori Welcome to the Klipsch community forums. You can return your soundbar to the retailer from whom you purchased it for a replacement or a refund. If your soundbar is defective open a support case with Klipsch product support and request a warranty replacement. First, though, you should do some basic troubleshooting to isolate the problem. Does this happen only when you you use the analog input or is it the same for all/other input sources? This sounds like a separate issue... Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles? They may provide some help.

  12. Good day! I'm currently using some RF 82 II's and a R 112SW, but I want to upgrade. A deal on some used Cornwall III's has showed up nearby, however they are approx. 2800$ (link in norwegian - https://www.finn.no/326589954). For comparison new Cornwall IV's are around 9000$ here. Any thoughts on the linked set? I feel like Klipsch is a bit overpriced here and wonder if this would be worth it.

  13. I have her album. I was not impressed with her songwriting. However, she is clearly a talented bass player, sort of along the lines of Victor Wooten, and I think her strength is playing bass for others. That Jeff Beck chose her is certification enough for me.

  20. The fully enclosed back does not mean that the Klipschorn is no longer a corner horn. The enclosed back eliminates the need for the cabinet to be tightly against the corner, allowing changes in toe-in. However, the speaker still needs to be close to a corner to achieve full bass response. Here's the quote from the current AK6 product page (https://www.klipsch.com/products/klipschorn). "The Klipschorn's low frequency horn has been redesigned and is now fully enclosed. This eliminates the need for the loudspeakers to be positioned snuggly in a corner." From the current product manual: "The Klipschorn (AK6) has a fully enclosed low frequency horn and no longer has to be flush to the corner in order to operate properly. The Klipschorn can now be toed in or out to obtain the best imaging. The corner still serves as an extension of the low frequency horn, improving low frequency performance. For best results, Klipsch highly recommends the Klipschorn be placed in the proximity of a corner."

  25. Are they supposed to pick the 4 best teams or what? They didn't do that last year and we all know what that got em. Nobody wants another 65-7 NCAA championship game, especially ESPN. Boy was that ugly. That's exactly what was brewing with Florida State and their 3rd string QB in the final 4. No matter what those people in the committee do, somebody is always gonna be unhappy, left out, and pissed off. If it's supposed to be the 4 best teams at the end of the season, they got that right. Sorry, Florida State is NOT one of the 4 best teams after losing their QB.

  26. The JBL 2360/65 horns have a slot in the throat, which many have said will sound like frying bacon if overloaded. Dennis (DJK) always commented on this, but I am going to make an assumption here, that used in the home, the JBL horn would be ok in that regard, especially since it was designed for P.A. use but you are downsizing the area covered. The K402, is a modern design with more time to make it a better horn all around. You can see the long slot in this pic I pulled off the net.

  27. Your best bet of course. I have owned two Acurus 200FIVEs, same as Aragon 2007 minus two channels, and one of them was purchased with a blown channel. Took it to my local electronics repair guy and yes the fuse was blown but that was due to a faulty output transistor on a single channel. Back then, about 13 years ago, I think I paid about $125.00 for the repair. Bill

  35. 001- Thank you for supplying the final clue! Slowly and gently is an understatement. Snug fit! I measured continuity from each speaker terminal to either side of the diaphragm. However, I measured open across the diaphram. There's a light film on the diaphragm wires that blocks the probe. I razored off a small point. Same condition on both drivers K55X. Called Klipsch for replacements, got 3 speaker supply references, only one, Midwest Spkr, carried them and there was a waiting list. The tech Dave was very knowledgeable and helpful and directed me to Bob Crites. Had a very informative discussion with Bob, particularly my testing and diagnosis. While we were talking he went into the back and got a K55X driver. Sent me pictures and walked me through. He agreed that is likely the problem. DISCLAIMER: I do not hold him to that. Phenomenal phone service! The short version is I can send the old drivers for repair or purchase new drivers. I don't know what forum etiquette is about mentioning prices, but either way it's only a few hundred dollars. Shockingly reasonable! The owner of these speakers inherited a big stack of great equipment. They're leaning towards keeping the speakers now. I would recommend the new ones especially since the difference is only $110. My thanks to all of you who have contributed your knowledge and experience to guide me through this. I was amazed at how many and how fast the responses were.

  41. I used to work in the DSP (digital signal processing) field. A digital, low amplitude (ie preamp level) crossover would be easy but expensive to do. While at it, adding time shift to compensate for a Klipschorn's bass horn time delay would be easy to add. Throw in a tri-amp to drive the the 'horns 3 drivers & you'd have quite a system. Whether the improvement it would bring is worth the expense is another question. Rob

  42. First, not a mindless observation at all. Second, like many Forum members, apparently your ear is v. sensitive to changes. Third, I suggest you give the new set up more time. Long time ago I sold speakers as a part-time job and found that most often listeners liked best whatever sounded similar to what they already owned (including Bose junk). The ear/mind seems to appreciate familiarity first. You may grow to like the 4.5 over the 3.5 after some time. Small model no. change, but different woofers, efficiency, horn (exp. vs. tractix), crossover point, and maybe more. A lot of change there. BTW, if you haven't already, re-calibrate sound levels across the system to compensate for the efficiency change. Let us know how they sound after more listening. Perhaps for that room the 4.5's have to go, or they may end up as the new fronts too. Rob

  43. The screen idea is excellent. Works in many ways. The box around the Fortes is not a good bet. I'd pursue a speaker change: for example, use Chorus with their front ported design. Good luck with the project. Rob

  45. ---------------- On 4/8/2005 5:34:49 PM zman wrote: I have a Rotel 200w/ch power amp which has been running warm to the touch very nicely. It has a built in protection feature which shut itself off. I felt it and it was too hot to keep your hand on it. I turned it completely off and when it cooled back down too a normal warm, and turned it back on and it is running again with a large fan blowing on it. It has no internal fans. Can you suggest a source for this sudden heat? Is something about to fail and this is a precursor? The sound is still terrific. ---------------- I suggest you shut it down and have it looked at. Excessive heat often arises from the output section over-conducting. This often occurs from a problem in the driver circuit, or something in the output bias. Either of those are usually easy & fairly cheap to repair. If it is over-conducting, it often leads to the outputs failing, and sometimes taking the power supply too. Now that will be an expensive repair. Perhaps someone on this forum can suggest a good place for repairs. Rob
