    • I was going to say it might be a shame to sell these.....you might regret that later in life but it sounds like he's got you covered.  Sounds like a really cool guy.   They look darn near pristine in the picture.  I've got some 1979's that I bought new...  "great condition" but look like trash next to yours.  Good luck with the sale!
    • Hi!!   I’ve been searching high and low for these subs and have a WANTED ad here for same…..   Would love them and have shipping company I can organise for everything…     hoping they are still available 🙏🙏🙏   pm sent
    • Makes sense—love it! Thanks for sharing
    • Everything is relative: in France they go in retirement at 62 (oh, no, now it is 64, thank you Macron)!   In a weird way, this post is good: it means you are reaching out, and you know what? We're happy to have you here!   I've been through a tough month and a half myself (kidney stone with complications), and I've been through some moments of extreme physical discomfort, which I have been sharing here too (not all of it!), but I know that burn out, mental distress, whatever you call it, is arguably even worse a burden that some people don't understand ('You look fine to me! Go outside, catch some air!')   Mental distress is your mind-body signaling to you that something in your life is askew and needs looking at and dealing with. The challenge is to pinpoint where exactly the problem lies: it could be a chemical disbalance in your brain due to lack of vitamin D ;-) or it could be deeprooted marital problem that now comes to the surface. Sometimes you look in the wrong place. You'll need time to figure that one out. Don't judge yourself, don't judge others involved, but investigate in a state of neutrality, mildness and forgiveness to the people involved, yourself included of course.
    • Believe me I don't particularly want to part with them, I know how special they are. I won't bore you with the circumstances. But there is plenty left to cherish to remind me of my folks. Relevant to this forum, my dad was an electronics wiz and collected hi-fi gear and made a lot of his own stuff, which I still have. My very first amplifier in my childhood bedroom was an early Heathkit tube amp that he found at a garage sale and gave me some of my first lessons in troubleshooting as we got it working. I must have been about 8 years old when I got to see my first large capacitor go up in smoke! So I'll be OK. 🙂
    • Man, if I had something as beautiful as those that had been in the family for decades the last thing I'd do is sell them.
    • You go to a third party vendor when OEM parts and sevices are not available. Since OEM parts and services ARE available, why not use them? Jim and me are a little more expensive, but we should be - we’re using authentic parts. None of the competing networks meet factory spec. They sell three versions and NONE of them are right. An amazing accomplishment!    Yes, Klipsch has put their foot down on allowing their platform to be used to promote competing businesses, and in some cases - businesses that wouldn’t have even existed had they not helped themselves to Klipsch IP.   I am over at AK quite a bit, and I find it very ironic that after all of the weeping and gnashing of teeth from the Klipsch collective because of the changes here - there are only like four or five people over there, discussing less than a handful of modifications, which have already been discussed here ad nauseum for a decade.
    • read this     Chief bonehead Posted December 29, 2020   Most people who modify a part on their network have no idea how it might affect the overall voltage transfer, which affects the spectral balance of the speaker. But it’s your speaker....do what you want. If you want the original intent, then replace with original specified parts.
