Still be hard-pressed to beat a good 2A3 amp, especially with some fully horn-loaded Klipsch. Classic combo. -
I didn't mean anything I didn't say. Like with Telemarketers, there comes a point where you have to hang up. -
He's a lumberjack and he's okay, he sleeps all night and he works all day... -
I have 8 Crown K2's , 3 Crown K1's , 3 Crown D-45's , 2 Crown CT8150's and a Crown CTS 8200 . All have been very quiet for me (some required Deoxit on the gain knobs) and all are used on highly efficient Klipsch speakers . The D45's I have not used yet so I cannot comment on them . The K2's are currently feeding MCM's with the original passive XO's for Home Theater and they go dead quiet when need be and of course NO fan noise. They sound great to me....I don't find them lacking in any way. I don't hear much if any difference between the K2 and K1's on the MCM's but on Sub duty the K2 has more power which always helpful. The CTS 8200 sounds good pushing outdoor Klipsch speakers The CT8150's are pushing LSI's right now and they are super clean. I agree with @SWL the K2's seem just right for my purpose. -

Yeah I have several amps that power these speakers. High power, low power, moderate power, tube, solid state..... They do great with all of the above. As far as high power goes, obviously they don't need 500 watts and 100 watts can really make them pound. 50 watts can make them pound. But in my experience with these speakers, a 500 watt K2 is just on another level with headroom and energy. These speakers love power and can handle it. The only time I got nervous was with a Macrotech 3600vz. It sounded great but cranked up it sounded strained. Never blew a woof or a tweet but 1200 watts at 8 ohms was total overkill. 😯
