  1. Hey there DizR..........That sounds like a lovely evening for you both, VERY nice and thoughtful of you I looked over the restaurant menu etc. Looks like some grand choices there.....ENJOY! (let us know how the whole thing turned out, from burr to gift card ) Hey there Duder! Good to see you again... Ok, FINALLY got my brand new Metzeler 800 series tires installed on my bike Thursday. My dealer was amazed that the bike still looks like the day they sold it to me 7 years ago!! Had a recall warranty service performed also....little thing called a rectifier with a more updated adhesive/heat conductor for the heatsink or something like that...Changed out the whole unit with a new one... Now registered and in a few moments heading to a motorcycle speed shop one town over to get my inspection... The owner let me off last year with a small bit of cracking in the front tire only (tread a'plenty, just a little dry rot), but said I needed to think about new tires for THIS year. So, I did what he said, and bought these top of the line German made tires... Here is a photo right after they were delivered to our shop... ......more later on.... .........Gary

  2. Grew up in NE Pa. and it was always soda there and up and down the east coast, but when I moved to Ohio, I heard the term pop, over and over, but I still call it soda. Good thing is, everywhere I've been, beer is beer. LOL

  3. Tomorrow the wife gets a gift of whole bean coffee and a Cuisanart burr mill. We shall see how that goes over. It violates the rule against giving a woman a gift with a power cord attached. It's our 34th anniversary. She'll also get flowers, a card and dinner at one of Detroit's best kept secrets, La dolce vita (http://www.ldvrestaurant.net/). The coffee stuff is more of a gift to both of us to celebrate the decades. The whole bean is 8 O'Clock Colombian and decaf. I also got some LaVAzza ground.

  4. Good morning friends :emotion-44: Your welcome JL..........that Reba concert was a special order a few years back, it is only 42 minutes long. It is really very good, and an intimate setting with a small audience. A CMT production, the audio portion is the standard DVD format. It could be a series, but not sure. I would have to check into that. Of course, in Music Hall, I am always sure to have it in Stereo and not surround... The DVD case is also unusual. By this I mean, it is smaller then a BluRay yet a little taller then a CD Jewel case yet, has rounded edges which are the custom for an SACD jewel case. It is the only one I own like it in all off my audio/video collection ! Ok, nearing time for blueberry pancakes and coffee and juice and.......... ......yes, BREAKFAST here in the NE.... Heat and Humidity is ours for a while, 90ies again today and tomorrow... Enjoy your morning everyone... .................Gary

It will take a while to test and optimize and complete the room but it has finally begun...!!! It appears the Zebra Chair will be my main listening chair after trying the Copper Leather chair first. Experimenting with the Jub position optimization and how best to implement and optimize the acoustical treatment in this room are still to be determined. miketn

  28. Roughly 8 months ago i bought all the tools to make my own subs. well after building a few subs i had been dying to try some speakers from Diysoundgroup. so i bought the fusion 8 towers and center. built them and absolutely loved them. but the downfall, IMO of my diy ventures has been finish. i duratex EVERYTHING. i do it cause 1)its easy 2)my wife doesn't mind it and 3)its extremely durable in a living room with a 5 year old running around. i was on pins and needles with the palladiums in the living room even know my son is VERY well behaved around speakers. Fast forward a few months and i got a buyer for the fusions and decided to try a three way design from a different designer. I ordered a trio of 893 speakers designed by a guy from avs forum known as tuxedocivic. he has designed quite a few speakers for the site. he's known for producing a more "forward" sound. I did not want to duratex these i wanted to try my hand at veneering. I researched pics of what the flat packs looked like for these since i could not do regular window bracing due to the three way horizontal. i knew the center brace needed to be different. so once i saw a pic of it i just mimicked it and made my own enclsoure. came up with this: after everything was put together i took a shot to see how much space this one was gonna take up. i did order crossover boards for this build as this one had about three times the part of my fusion build. wrapped with oak veneer after a ten minute coat of dark walnut minwax, and four coats of gloss poly here was the finished product not much for listening impressions so far except this baby has fantastic midrange, silky smooth highs, and the off axis response really is good. sounds great in every seat in my living room. will be doing some fun A/B'ing soon with some high end center channels.

John Kerry would not have a clue what is going on and would be asking to meet with Kim Jong Un.....totally unrelated to anything going on. Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper would be in their speedos on set chasing each other around with squirt guns, all the time Anderson is giggling like a little girl...Kathy Griffin is offering sex to all of the captors. The House of Representatives would think this was a good time for a sit in and they would demand that Vladimir Putin be present....also totally unrelated to anything going on.
