  8. Last week I was quiet busy to built and deliver some audiocables before new year, job is done so far. Than I ordered the second Micro Seiki Tonearm MA 505 MK II as well as the sec. Micro Seiki Arm Board AX 1 . The Tonearm comes from france in first class condition , the arm board is an original , unpacked NoS , get it here from a german Micro Seiki Lover. Wasn´t cheap ..close to 1,5 K$ and I´ll need more headshells and have to build three new set TT cables as well. Think that I have finished the upgrate till end of january ..maybe a bit earlier.

  13. Happy New Year all...I've been away from this forum for awhile, and now I'm back as I get set to welcome a new to me pair of 1977 birch Cornwalls. The previous owner had them for 30 years and stained them honey walnut. I'm getting them from a local friend who I trade gear with often. I've had two other pairs of Cornwall's over the last several years(Verticals and CII's) and for various reasons moved them on. But I kept thinking about them, and when the chance to own these came up, I decided to jump on them. For the time being at least, they will be driven gently by a McIntosh MC2300 paired with a McIntosh C11 tube preamp. My living room is of medium size, and there is good space to move them up against the front wall and into corners(or as close as possible). Presently using a pair of Allison One speakers in there, but they will be moved to another room with a second system. One initial question I have is that the caps look to be oil filled. Was Klipsch using these in '77? So just wanted to say happy to be back, and as always welcome any thoughts/opinions.

  18. Hi @MicroMara There is a great French specialist who restores and refurbishes Sansui, his reputation is very high and the packages are very solid. You may be able to contact him if you would like to purchase one of his beautiful restoration, in my opinion he will ship to Germany with no problem. It doesn't have to be in stock, but if you reserve it can give you a superb Sansui SSP that looks like new for many, many years to come. Or you send him a used Sansui bought in Germany and he reassembles it like new. https://son-passion.com/4-sansui https://www.facebook.com/son.passion/posts/1712935438870796/ https://www.homecinema-fr.com/son-passion-sansui-cest-sa-passion/5/ Hapy New Year ✌️

  21. @Full Range a friend of mine bought the Sansui AU 717 ...he had him revised , cost were close to 500 € . He told me that he can now really hear the Sansui AU 717 for the first time, the difference between not revised and general revised is so big, he really did not expect. He said , that´s the best SS he ever owned and had listen to. Think it´s a must to do !

A hard freeze for Tucson Sun AM. My SIL is sposed to be coming down this evening. Talking about going to the bar. It's her b'day. I am little skeptical about her getting here. 30. 5 new seats for my theater. Fast delivery, ordered on Christmas Day. Black leather sofa replaces a red leather console loveseat. The settee came from an antique store. It's already restored, but I will reupholster it later anyway.

  31. A ton of thanks goes out to Mike @Rowan611! He sold me the Heresy pair that he inherited from his father about 10 years ago. They are my new surround speakers, replacing a pair of RS-7s. I did what I've done to my Heresy LCR: opened them up, loosened and tightened all the screws in the crossover to ensure a good connection. I had a ton of 3/8" wide speaker gasket foam from Parts Express left over so I sealed the backs of both of them as well. That's all I'm going to do to them, at least for now. I adjusted their output level to match them with everything else and put on Star Wars IX to test them out. It was a definite improvement in overall blending of sound from front to surround. I believe these are considered Heresy 1.5 since they have the E-2 crossover and K-53-K midrange so they aren't exactly the same as my LCR with K-55-V midrange and E crossover. But, they sound fantastic and I can't wait to listen to some multichannel music on them! Extremely happy that I finally have my 5 Heresys! 😀

  32. Fender and MoFi have joined forces to create a beautiful new limited edition collectors edition Turntable. I ordered mine a few months ago and just got notice Upscale Audio has it ready for me to pick up. I have had some good Turntables in my day but this Mofi will be the highest quality TT I have ever owned. Did I mention how bad *** it looks?

  34. Specs on a turntable will tell you nothing. Pick a tried and true design and get someone to do a professional setup if you aren’t capable. I would spend almost as much on the phono stage as the table, this is where the rubber meets the road. A 300.00 cartridge on a good table with an excellent phono preamp will sound better than a 3k cartridge with a mediocre table/pre.

  35. Are you certain the serial number is 155073? I would expect it to be 15S073 which would make the year 1978.

  36. Well, nice speakers, but they are gonna suffer from the lack of quality that is obviously your preamp/amplifier. I wouldn’t even hook them up. I’ll take that C11 off your hands and save you a lot of unnecessary pain and suffering. Deal?

  37. B&W 800 series and Krell do not mix well, too bright. Classe and McIntosh work much better.

  41. I had decided to no longer participate in this thread, out of frustration. But at this point I think that we need to gain a little perspective, so I changed my mind. captainbeefheart's understanding of the science is fundamentally correct. My frustration, and I suspect that of others, stems from his implication that his approaches to the problems are the only ones that are viable. There are as many viable solutions to a problem as there are people to formulate them, and each person seeks to optimize things according to whatever aspect of the problem is most important to them. @captainbeefheart, if I am misinterpreting your intent, then I apologize. But that is the way that your messages come across.

  42. Booker's, Weller and anything else on the planet that is great bourbon is alllll lottery here in Ohio. THEN those that aren't picked up by the winners of the lottery can be sold to anyone with a connection it sounds like. Hit the Reserve line in a bar and pay $75 a shot? Not in my lifetime. Finding a new niche in life. Hoarding the good Scotch. Always glad to hear of a negative test Carl. Have fun and as Ohio's Liquor Controls says, "Drink Responsibly!" 😂
