  1. Sort of but slightly blurry memories, we were not sponsored by a beer distributor but was supporting them on our own. Mixed league and men's league plus a company work league, all included beer. And to think I do not drink beer anymore, or much of anything, well 90% of the time anyway.

  2. If you're not grinding beans yourself, maybe give it a shot. It can make a difference. Also, check out local roasters for beans under $10 a pound. They might have some great options. Upgrading from Keurig to a drip coffee maker could also level up your coffee game.

  3. decided to down size some gear, this is a Fisher that I did a full recap on, all can capacitors replaced. Individual Bias Balance Adjustment board installed. this allows you to adjust the Bias for each power tube and to balance the pairs. Soft start was added, Screen resistor mod and a bunch more recommended mods for the 800c. the chassis is very clean, no rust, the walnut cabinet is original and I have the grill not pictured. all the functions are clean and quiet. FM pulls strong. i need to replace the lights. I used LED but its too bright. there is one mark on the faceplate but all the lettering is clean and sharp. Its a great example of the 800c. All the tubes are Fisher, New capacitor cans are from Hayseed Hamfest they are the best. I will be glad to demo this to anyone, looking for a local sale in Mobile Alabama but can meet from Penscacola to New Orleans. Asking $1300 or best offer.

  4. Are any of y'all realtors? I found out something today. Apparently the similar to a VPN network that all the titling agencies in the continental USA use was down for a period of time last week. So that might be true. It could have been a whole bunch of smoke, I'm not sure. I still might close tomorrow, but my 10:00 a.m. appointment is called off because something from the seller side didn't get there in time. So I'm wheelin' and dealin' I told my new neighbor lady after she told me what she likes to do for folks around there that don't have a woman to cook for them. She makes chicken and dumplings, I told her I trade her a pan of cornbread for a couple bowls. We didn't shake on it but it was eye to eye contact and we both nodded so that's kind of like a gentleman's agreement! Heard tell of live bluegrass to be heard around in two different places. And that I might have to find out about too, it's been a long time!

  5. I was president of a softball league (the Bar League) in the 80's and our league was sponsored by a beer distributor. Since he gave us money I tried to drink his products at our games. The problem? He sold Old English 800, Weidemann, and Pabst.🤮

  6. Really not keen on posting what comes through the door but owning numerous Klipsch speakers from RB75’s to Jubilee’s and several in between I think I can speak with experience when I hear something special. Just received a pair of Canadian made Coherent Audio GR 12 Signatures. Point source, or co-axial design using the high performance Radian 12 inch driver, inset with a 1.75 in. beryllium dome compression driver with high Q crossover components. Currently playing with Quicksilver Horn Monos I can honestly say these are goosebumpers, something I haven’t felt with few, if any other speaker. The texture, clarity, soundstage, overall “completeness” is astounding. An exciting addition to say the least -

  11. The same reason there is a bass section on any speaker, for bass, it's not a sub. Bass has to go up to where the mids take over, a sub has to go up to where the bass takes over. OK so I like to keep it simple and mid-woofer-mid confuses me, not really almost all speakers are sort of mid bass and a little lower, except the Jubilee. The only speaker I know of that does not need all of this is the new Jubilee, no sub needed, full range 2 way.

  13. I see nothing wrong with the price. The starting price I see for most Corwalls is $2k. People are selling Fortes, Choruses, and in some cases Heresies at that price and higher. Those Cornwalls are vintage, they have "beausage" and I'll bet they sound fabulous!

  14. Not good but still better than Falstaff, and this is from someone who drank Schaefer at one time. But back then it was like $6-$7 a case which made it easier.

  16. Somewhere I have an opener for this beer: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griesedieck_Brothers_beer My paternal grandfather drank Schlitz beer, from a can... he would put salt around the rim. He worked in a maintenance shop for the Illinois Central Railroad. When they closed the shop in the small town where they lived, he drove about 30 miles up the Champaign-Urbana five days a week until he retired. In those days, that was considered a long way. Now, people drive the distance and greater every day. When my family moved up to Peoria, we first lived in Peoria Heights. My grade school was across the street from a Pabst Brewery. Bad beer followed me through my youth...

  20. It was right around 24 years ago I was recovering from a neck operation and was dealing with issues with a set of Klipsch Computer speakers.... I wandered into this forum looking for support for those and stumbled into this 2 channel section......guys were in here "Mobile Homeless" and "Allan Songer" being a few of the most vocal talking about Klipsch and Tubes, which quickly peaked my interest since I learned basic tube electronics from helping my father work om WWW II ham radio gear, he refurbished, used and sold as a sideline from his normal home appliance business which I also worked with him on in my youth. So "Mobile Homeless" was keen on the lowly low quality parts EICO HF-81, "Allan Songer" was a fan of the HH Scott line of vintage amps for a decent build quality and awesome phono section. My father told me EICO brand test equipment was garbage...I quickly gravitated toward the better built and handsome looking Scott line of amplifiers. So, on eBay I bought a pristine condition 222C that the moron eBayer packed improperly so the face plate ended bent over in shipping. I forced him into a deep discount and kept it. Which led me to decide to see just what I could do to improve it. In steps "Mark Deeneen" of Juicy Music Audio and famed Paragon preamplifier of the 1970's which none of knew that was who he was at the time. He takes me under his magical electronics wing! Teaches me most of what I know about tube audio! All the while "Mobile Homeless" obviously feels threatened a resident "tube guy" of the forum! Those 2 proceed to fight for my musical sole LOL!!! Man were those days a riot around here... All the while folks were watching as a reported what I was doing to the 222C... I started getting asked "would you do one for me". I did a few for the part and shipping cost no labor or profit. It mushroomed out my control! I was released back to work (home improvement contractor) and still did the refurbing for profit as a part time thing for about a year! Then I had a recurring neck problem and was told by the Neurosurgeon that I needed to stop working over my head or with any vibrating power tools. I talked with my wife and decided to take the leap and turn my new hobby business into my new full-time business! Man did that work out great! So fast forward 24 years I have become forced into semi-retirement from what seems like never ending nagging health issues to the point I have not taken in new work in 4 years! At 62 I was approved for Federal SS disability in 7 weeks without even seeing a doctor because my health records were that bad in 2021... including lung issue from smoking for years but had quit and sucking solder fumes for 20+ years. Here I am recovering from Total Knee replacement surgery my nagging health issues have stabilized from good health care providers! I design a ventilation system for my shop and I'm back here offering my services starting two months from now. Isn't it strange how things come full circle in life sometimes! Cheers Craig www.nosvalves.com PS forgot one detail I damn near died at home with COVID in 2020 of course it found my weak spot those lungs! But I'm a stubborn Bxxxxxxx In 2016 it was the Flu that almost got me...7 days in the hospital...

  23. I have a 11 speaker setup can it be laid out at 7.1.4. Everything will be in a bedroom that is converted to movie room. Odd size so placement is tough. Mainly where do I put the tv and where to put the sides, height speakers. . . If I put the tv in front of the window, will the 42 inch bump out make a difference. I put green tape for the rs62 (5 ft high right in front of couch) and rs7 (back wall near ceiling about closet door 36 in from side wall), don't know the proper height and if placement is good. Where would a person place the front height. Just bought new setup with some old stuff. My pictures are to big to post, I did take some of the current spots. I'll try to take some later. Setup Emotiva mc1 emotiva xpa11 (3x300 and 8x65) klipsch rf83, rc64, rs62, rs7, rb81, rp5000ll Svs pb 400 Panasonic ub820

  31. Never thought Brock Purdy would be this good. I knew the 49ers were a good team, but Brock has really turned into a "Montana" looking QB. They could win it all this year. Another one Love at Green Bay. Thats an up and coming team right there.

  32. Mine arrived in Oregon two days ago, on Saturday. As others have said, it is beautifully composed, printed, and packaged! Copious thanks to the Barbie and Paul team for making this happen through clear vision, lots of hard work, and consistent communications! I've never participated in a Kickstarter project before--what a great experience!

Kinda funny that Tyler Hubbard just dropped his first solo lp and they were gettin it! Funny but I had to blink. What a sweet tune. Have to look and see if I can lift her dancin w/o her knowing it, which prolly won't happen. rofl I'll be gettin yelled at again! lolol

  35. I had Khorns and a LaScala mono center with PWK's resistor box for 30 years. I think any form of LaScala in a 2.1 or, better yet, 2.2 configuration (sub front and rear room center) would trounce a pair of Khorns, but that's just my opinion. I doubt that Roy would ever make that statement in a public forum (with curves). You and I are outsiders, after all.

  36. That's the word so far. Lots of talk about lots of different things coming up. That's just one of them. Something will have to be done w/the addition of teams into the B1G and other conferences. When I mentioned the other day that as of Thursday there were 60 QB's hitting the portal was true. It's honestly getting crazy and it's all boiling down to the money. They ALL want part of the cash cow. Those kids are driving Porsches in college as a result of the money they're being paid. It's ALL about the money but will the country support their favorite football teams? That remains to be seen and is the crux of it all.

  37. Checked out a local 60’s cover band at the brewery/theater over in Mars Hill Friday evening. The first thing I said when I walked in was “not enough PA”. As soon as the band started playing it was confirmed, the vocals and guitar were getting buried in most of the mix. Yesterday we went caroling downtown with folks from our parish and the rain held off until we were done. That was nice.

  42. He has no idea what he is talking about, someone posted “any guess as to price” and he felt compelled to respond and guessed. The group at this event are the only ones who have heard all 4 prototypes. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was discussed in terms of price at the class, so your guess is as good, if not better, as his or anyone else’s.
