    • I 100% agree with @mark1101 on this.  If you have the patience to wait (and the necessary budget), the Heritage horn-loaded subs will be exactly what you need to give your La Scala the clean, distortion-free low bass extension that you are missing.  The last detailed information we got on the subs was at SubFest in Hope back in November 2023.  Roy mentioned in November 2024 at the La Scala class that all the engineering work for the Heritage subs was finished sometime in 2024.  So, now it's up to marketing/production to work out when they will go into production.  It will be sometime after the new La Scala and Khorn are released.   Here's the info from SubFest.  This is obviously all preliminary information.  If Roy made any changes since that event, I'm sure it only made them even better.
    • I'm fairly sure that La Scala AL6 and Klipschorn AK7 are coming very soon.  No one would give a specific date at the Pilgrimage last weekend, but my guess is this will be in a time period measured in weeks or months as I saw evidence that they are already into pre-production last weekend.  I can't say any more than this (and perhaps I shouldn't even have said this).  However, I see no reason to believe that these speakers aren't on track for release soon.   It helps to remember that the reason that these revisions are being done now is that the decades-old tooling for making the K-401 horn had finally worn out and could no longer be repaired.  Since new tooling hade to be made, the decision was made to finally replace this last old exponential horn in Klispch products with a modern modified Tractrix horn.  The tooling for that new horn (designated the K-406) was made.  So, Klispch literally has to release the new versions since they won't be able to make K-401 horns anymore.   Read my full report on the Chief Bonehead class last weekend here which has the info available to date about the new Khorn and La Scala.
    • Got some new tires put on my S2000 and broke them in last weekend with the opening AutoX for the year.  I took the class lead by over 2 seconds.  I suspect I'll get a bit faster with this thing this year.
    • 2025 goals. Had been wanting to upgrade my CD-DVD player. Been using an OPPO 83. Found a killer deal on a BDP-103 last month so I jumped right on it. Have wanted one since they came out. One other item on the list is to build a pair of LaScalas.  Already have the woofers and lumber. Just need to work out the top end. Need to get it done. I'm not getting any younger.
    • Graceful and melodic. A class act. I've listened to her for as long as I can remember.
    • You can bid on serial number 1 and 2 of the first production run.   https://givebutter.com/c/LaScalaAL6Auction/auction
    • You've got the tools to test.   Hook up your center channel amp to your RF-7 IIIs even if one at a time. Do you hear the hiss?   Hook up the RF-7 IIIs amp to your RC-64 III and see if you hear the hiss. Do this with each channel of the amp.   You can also do the paper towel tube test: Place the end of a paper towel tube against the opening of whichever compression driver you choose. Turn down the bass all the way. Turn up the treble all the way; it will just make it easier to hear the compression driver output. Listen at the other end of the tube. As you turn up the volume, does the driver make unusual sounds or is it just louder? Those tests, and comparing the results from each RF-7 and your RC-64,should convince you whether you've damaged your driver or the amp is not as quiet as you thought, although that hiss is imperceptible when audio is playing.   If your amp produces a turn on thump, it's either not designed properly or it needs service. Even moderate quality equipment has  a turn-delay circuit to eliminate that thump.
    • I'm sure they sound as good as they look, and they look great.
    • Thanks. I'd like to keep them, but I have 2 other pairs.... someone else should be enjoying these.
    • Sad, but not the end. You get them dried out?
