Thanks for the update. You were wise to choose a pair of bookshelf speakers to replace your Optimus speakers, vs. buying a pair of floorstanders. The subwoofer will already fill the gap any bookshelf speaker can provide and due to size and placement issues you already had a location available (the place where your Optimus speakers sat), where you were sure you could put a new speaker. We often have to consider limiting factors other than the features of the speaker we want, when considering how to upgrade. I wouldn't chuck those Optimus speakers. Many times we later yearn for those speakers we had "way back when" (I know I do), so consider puting those bookshelf speakers to use in the garage, basement, workshop etc. where you'll still enjoy them. -

That's the quietest I have seen. Themador, Bosch, Miele, Cove (Wolf/Sup-Zero), Viking, all in the 40 to 42 dB range. -

@dirtmudd Thanks Mr Mudd. Couldn't resist! Here I go on another dive. Been forever and I've been holdin back. Ugh! Astronomy started it. Now I'm sittin here lookin at a handfull of albums, which isn't good! Well, maybe. An exorcism is right around the corner if I start with them Ahhhhhgain! Heaven help me... Lima, Ohio Saturday, October 26th @ 7:30! I could be runnin the beads and I'm not even Catholic! Ya ever lose an entire weekend and not know what happened or anything related to that weekend but told you had a blast? Asking for a friend.
