I just ordered 2 of the bookshelves and the matching center in Natural. Now the ever familiar waiting game begins.. I can't wait to get these babies! My natural-edge TV stand is very dark, almost black so I went with the lighter finish to contrast the stand. I also think the natural looked like zebra wood and I love that look.2 points

I'm guessing the "3" to be a partial stamp of an "8". You can buy replacement tweeters from Speaker Exchange for $38. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-rb-35-rf-35-tweeter/#prettyPhoto According to Speaker Exchange info, it appears you might NOT have received bad advice from Klipsch folks.2 points

"John Reeves, the wife murderer, was hung at Clarksville last Friday until he was as dead as a doornail. Strange as it may seem, there are many people who enjoy seeing a human being in the agonies of death as much as they enjoy a circus performance and the neck-breaking drew to Clarksville one of the largest crowds the town has ever seen. John Reeves, who furnished the entertainment for the very large audience on this occasion, was perhaps as depraved a being as ever filled his lungs with ozone. One night when he and his wife were alone in their humble cabin near the little town of Avery, he deliberately killed the woman he had sworn to love and protect and then buried her in the garden. In his confession the brute who was clothed with human form stated that he buried the unfortunate woman before life was extinct, and that when he plowed over her body to hide the evidences of his crime she was still kicking. The day before the miserable sinner was ushered into eternity he professed religion and was baptized into the Catholic Church. He may, like the dying thief, go straight to Paradise, but of this we are extremely doubtful. We know that God can take to His bosom whom he will, but until our understanding is opened wider it will be impossible for us to believe that the All-Wise being desires the presence of such a scoundrel as John Reeves in the home above." copied from: https://www.facebook.com/TracesofTexas/2 points

Nice dynamics at loud volumes but also has nice dynamics at lower volumes, which is often times harder. I just took some really good acid and this song is making me hallucinate. Pretty colors and shapes, feels like I can touch the music. Oh wow, a woman just appeared. This acid rocks. I have no idea what I'm talking about right now so just bear with me. These speakers are damn smooth. Man I did really good buying this studio apartment. Did I just say that out loud? Focus! Gotta say something good that people can actually understand here before I wrap up, this line always works. Nice huh. Dude, what if this whole planet is just a molecule on a giant dog's butt hair?2 points

My Son talked me to going to this concert (I won't mention the group) and I see alot of people there sort of boot legging via cell phones. Well I've head that type of sound and its not very good as its going from the speakers through the air through the people in the room into a tiny mic in the phone. I guess its better than nothing. I was thinking the best source would be right off the mixing board. We are very close to the mixing guy and notice he is recording. I ask how its done, he is saying its from the guitars, mics on stage into the mixer then finally out to the speakers. Then I notice he is recording. I asked if they are selling those. He say no its just for the band. Then later on somehow my son just asks the guy if he gave him a usb stick would he copy the concert from the mixer cpu. I'm thinking to myself fat chance in hell. Well I don't know what he said but they were like best buds and he took the stick and copied it in what ever the highest format they do. My son acts like this is Gold. lol. Anyway he got a copy of the exact live concert on a CD later and we compared it to the one off the mixer. You know what, the mixer is superior. The CD is much louder and compressed which at first I thought was better but then noticed all the voices and guitars were very quite and muffled vs the live mixer USB stick. They also added some kind of reverb effect that was not in the concert to give it a wider sounding intro. I don't know the process but it appears a different person (Not the mixer guy) must have manipulated the recording for the CD and some how botched it up. Or is this just a personal preference of the person doing the CD transfer? Maybe the mixer guy had it right but they hired some other guy to do the CD and his idea of good sound was different? This situation is quite rare I think because I don't know many people that have a real live recording right off the mixer board unless you happen to be in a band.1 point

Happy Saturday all....Went car shopping with my daughter, she ended up with a 2016 Kia Sportage....I'm tired...I picked my daughter up at 7:15, together we picked up my sister because my sister is simply intimidating. The three of us went car shooping and at the dealers by 9:00am. After all is said and done, this includes going back to my daughters to get the 2004 Honda CRV with 191,000 and handing over the title.to it, it was about 13:15. Anyway cheers all. This is what I kinda feel like after car shopping....I just wanna stick my head in something...LOL https://vine.co/v/ixr0uex97VA1 point

Lots of variables. It might be a good deal if the damage to the veneer is normal wear and tear, and the stock drivers and crossover have been well cared for. Ask if everything is stock. Remember, these things are almost 40 years old. I'm 46 and a lot of stuff started going out-of-spec on my body around 40. Same thing here. If you let emotions win out, you could end up with a couple pieces of damaged furniture with electronics and drivers in need of hundreds of dollars of repair.1 point

I looked at a picture of your meter. Do you have it set at about 8 o'clock.......20V DC? That's where it should be. Just turn on the preamp and only 1 VRD and adjust each output tube to .55. The black lead stays in teh ground test point and the red lead gets moved from the left tube test point to the right tube test point to make the adjustments.1 point

A crawl space alone isn't really a bad thing. In terms of reflections with the wood floor, it's not really the sub(s) that you need to worry about, it's the higher frequencies.1 point

First World problems, my young padawan learner. It's very well established that "multi-tasking" is way overrated. It is a very small percentage who can listen to music and study both at the same time. Turn the music off and let that magnificent young mind of yours soak up the information you need for finals. At your age and stage of educational development, I'm very sure you have turned into an expert at learning at this point. You're already smart enough, you just need to put in the time necessary to study, you know what to do. You work hard now so you don't have to work hard in the future. Wow...it's just like have my mom back again! Happy Mother's Day WVU!!!!1 point

Oh, you mean Chad. If you had any idea the actual level of stuff he has to deal with all would be a LOT more understanding. The Forum owes him a HUGE debt of gratitude for getting us noticed by the Klipsch brass, supporting us, listening to moderators and members alike, and doing it with a great sense of humor and good judgment. Completed piecing together my George Wright 2a3 monoblocs with his 12a tube preamp. All acquired from the same enthusiast with many pieces of George's gear. His speaker of choice with the Wrights is Tannoy. For too long I had my doubts that the 2a3 could satisfy or push my Khorns to satisfying levels, I was mistaken by a long shot. Some time ago our friend Paul79 eluded to the superior sonics of tubes, to which I concurred. Multiply those sentiments several fold with this Wright 2a3 single ended gear. Superb. A tip of my hat to the late George Wright.1 point

Eth, didn't you just get a $9k + preamp? I would have asked this question first. Mediocre components that work well together will sound better than expensive ones that don't. All the way through the chain. Bruce1 point

I completely agree OP! The worst part is... even if there is discernable differences audible to the user, it ONLY manifests itself when either set up is heard immediately pre/post each other ot by switching "on the fly".1 point

I just got my 37's pinned up and they are very perfect for my room. I have had P39's, Belles, Cornwalls, RF7's, RC7's Heeresys, KLF 20's, KLF 30's and maybe something else and these are it. The KLF 20's in this room were second best but then I never had them hooked up to these electronics. My wife is in love with the looks, their physical size is perfect and they of course sound fantastic. At a fair amount under $4k I think they're a very good buy. I will keep these forever. Can't wait for the sub to get here1 point

What a shame you don't follow a real game like hockey. Considering your option on things to do I must say you must not be a sports fan at all. You are probably on board with those participation trophies... Just think how much better political debates would be this year if all the candidates were required to wear skates and take their shots using a puck and a stick. Hillary could hip check that crazy old goat running against her into the middle of next week.1 point

The good part is I already have all the necessary tools to get these babies ready for finish. Since I am not taking them all the way down to wood, it will be a piece of cake. I learned some nice short cuts on the previous 4 LS restorations. I could have them ready in one afternoon (after filling the holes, of course). You are fast. It took me probably more than a hundred hours to prep just this one speaker.1 point
