  3. K-22 woofers or K-28 4 Ohms woofers , 100$ each from klipsch Parts , would bring the speakers in line with Heresy 1 sound with an E network configuration ( very easy to do )

  6. @Tarheel well ya did it again. Yesterday I broke out the big Henckel's and went to work on a "Chuck" roast for a big crockpot of chili. Threw it into a big skillet and hit it HARD w/the hot sauce Master's best. Sent the daughter a pic and naturally she wanted some until I told her I hit it with the hot sauce. 😂 💪 Picked up a quarter in August and just had to make a call and snag another 20# of ground beef??? What's wrong with the picture? lol Sure she's got a crock pot but it must take too long to get things ready. lol We got this! 😂 Cold as sheet here in Duckburg, just enough snow for ground cover. Still have all my fingers intact and thinking about blowins some dust outta the LS. Had to clean the coffee pot sooooo we're chill. No cabin fever here yet!

  8. It’s difficult to find solutions without a problem. True the Lascala’s run a little hot in the 150 hz range, and the op does seem to be sensitive to this . But when this blip is removed and a very nice flat response has been achieved, the op then perceives a thin response, the exact opposite of the original problem, and all this happening within a 6 db range 🤷.In this case ,finding stereo satisfaction is not likely to happen , as the variation in recordings would far exceed the tolerance of the listener . Equalization is the right tool for this situation ,but several curves will likely be required depending on the recording . There is an implication that runs throughout this thread that a serious fault lies within the Klipsch Lascala , I don’t believe it , nor should you.

  9. I've ran a Tubes4Hifi sp12 line stage into a Nelson Pass ACA with great results with both streaming Spotify and vinyl with the PH6 Phono pre amp. All powering a pair of Heresy 1s. I don't recall what either the output impedance or input impedance is, but if memory serves, it wasn't an issue when I was researching that particular concern. As someone has mentioned, if this was a integrated system, it would be what is referred to as a hybrid. I would love to hear a full tube separate system. I have enjoyed a Scott 222 with these Heresys that I thought sounded wonderful with both digital streaming and vinyl. Now that i have a better hi res digital setup, I am looking forward to getting my hands on another Scott.

  13. I'd say it was more like a rookie QB completely dismembered the Brown defense. He has outstanding numbers for a rookie, he has a lot of talent. And.....Joe Flacco being Joe Flacco.

  14. Browns? Myles Garret nullified, no center pass rush, cornerbacks slow to cover or completely fooled. Defensive holding could have been called on every play against Houston which was the turning point of the game. The refs had a hand in the outcome changing the offensive flow of the Browns. The Browns owner forgot to show the movie "Patton" to the defensive coaches. Our defense made a rookie quarterback look like Albert Einstein. JJK

  17. It does run the 5AR4 hard in fact way beyond spec which is why they start arcing over pretty quick in most cases especially any modern production 5AR4. I have no idea why Bob didn't design it with dual 5AR4's? with SS rectification you probably should be using something to get the voltage down since using SS results in much less voltage drop. The SS rectifier solves one problem but creates a running voltage problem. By the way I hope you know that the number on the dial or built in gage of a simple variac like your using are never accurate. You need to confirm what the amp is being fed! Good luck Craig

  18. The better matched center speaker would be another 3-way Klipsch speaker like a third Forte, a Quartet, or a Heresy II/III. I used a Heresy II as a center for years, first with original Forte and then with KLF-30. However, if you can't accommodate a vertical center like those, then my next choice would be a KLF-C7. It's about the closest match for a horizontal center to the 3-way Klipsch towers that I've heard. The larger horn sounds better. It's not a perfect match for 3-way Klipsch towers, but it works. I owned an Academy for a short while when I had original Forte mains. I didn't think it was a good match. It sounded more like kg series to me. I traded it in for the Heresy II.

  19. I lifted this post from another forum ( https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=303204 )but thought it might be of interest here. Not sure if this has ever been posted here - I did a quick forum search and found no history. The WAPO article is a cautionary tale. Hope the links work. Please pardon me if this is a repost. Ken Fritz. Approximately $1,000,000 USD. 27 years. A very custom 1,650 square foot addition to his house. 35,000 watt amplifiers. A 1,500 pound (680 kg) turntable with three arms. Three 10 foot main speakers, four 7 foot surround speakers, 24 subwoofers. Just one little excerpt - Quote: “He crafted by hand the three 10-foot speakers that loomed like alien monoliths at the head of the room, with the help of Paul Gibson, a former employee at his fiberglass company. Each 1,400-pound slab pulsed with 24 cone drivers for the deeper tones and 40 tweeters — 30 shooting into the room, 10 toward the crimson curtains draping the wall behind — to project the upper-range sounds.” Gift link. 20. I’m not going to be an apologist or a fan boi. No speaker is perfect. But as I type this, I’m grooving to some Joe Bonomassa on my LS IIs with an ear to ear grin. Resonance and all, I’m still digging ‘em.

  23. Couple items of note: It's spelled timbre and pronounced like tamber (rhymes with camber). I had an Academy with Heresy mains and hated it. Once I added another Heresy as a center, then everything was perfect. I'd never spend $400 on an Academy when you could buy a pair of forte I or Heresy and sell one of them.

  24. Guilty haha Nope, I have a phono amp built into my turntable that is decent enough. Not in playback, in the mastering stage. I'm referring to compression in the music since in the mixing/mastering stage, not the compressions or transcoding of the audio file.

  25. Hello @suko_nanami, Welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. Klipsch does not repair the Cinema soundbars. If your soundbar is still within the warranty period, they will provide a warranty replacement. The replacement will be the whole system. If this is a new system that has recently been purchased, Klipsch recommends you return it to the place where you purchased it for a replacement (or a refund). If it is outside the warranty period then you will have to have it repaired. If the place where you purchased it doesn't do repairs you will have to find a repair shop, preferably an authorised Klipsch repair depot.

  27. I also used 10 awg copper wires for the crossover/driver connections. It's a very nice and balanced sound. It sounds just like turning the gain up three steps or so on an analog mixer.

  28. It is not that it has 3rd order harmonics. I have not seen the spec's on the amp but PP amplifiers cancel out much of all the distortion delivering a very clean signal with the even and odd harmonics below the level of being noticeable or a problem. In a SET tube amplifier a 2nd order harmonic is noticeable which many consider desirable including myself. Some of the best in the sound industry like a little 2nd harmonic and a touch of 3rd in their amplifiers. Some even put some in if it is not there. It is called entertainment. Adding a simple circuit tube preamplifier will put some 2nd harmonics into the mix if you want to play.

  33. Not exactly the same as this convo but…. Can I hook up left channel to speaker A and right channel to speaker B via the A/B button. I either have a bad channel on my avr or a bad speaker. Just trying to further troubleshoot the issue I got a bunch of old stuff and it seems I got a bad speaker that will trip the avr when volume is increased

  34. Ive actually found the tube effect counter to yours OP... I while Vinyl was awesome, I also found that with Digital, Tube's take the edge off and makes it MORE palatable.

  35. @KT88 yes I believe he could add a PEQ: 148Hz / Q:8 / Level: (+2 to +5db range) as a trial to compensate for some of what the Auto-Room Compensation adjusted it to. If it proves to be a move in the right direction for @Flevoman then it could be fine tuned if needed to reach his listening goal. NOTE: This is Roy’s PEQ setting except we are now using +db levels to compensate some for the Auto-Room Compensation and find the balance Flevoman desires. Other PEQ; filters can be added to fine tune the region more if desired. It’s important to understand that when you compensate for room modes the bass/mid-bass can at first be perceived as light versus before the compensation. Because the problem room modes are adding a false boost which also mask clarity/detail then by the room compensation removing this false boosting the “perception” can be of a much improved clarity/detail in bass and also in the midrange and hi frequency but also of this perceived lighter bass/mid-bass and some listeners will find it desirable to increase the level in the corrected region. The DSpeaker can perform this in several ways like the PEQ I’m suggesting above. It might take some time with trial and error to find the balance someone desires but it should be achievable. I do understand not everyone is comfortable with the process or desire to spend the time to become familiar enough with what a DSP EQ offers and that’s understandable. miketn🙂

  36. Id be curious to know what the EQ curves applied by the dspeaker device actually looked like. Roys recommended PEQ with a Q:8 is very narrow centered on 148hz.

  41. Reading this about sent coffee spewing out my nose! Very surprised to read this to say the least! I'm not sure what to think... either there is something very wrong with that SX-1250 or something very "right" with that 730 OR (less likely) we have vastly different hearing. I have a SX-1250, HK 930 and a 330b but I don't have the 730. The 930 was gone through by Dewick (he referred to it as "getting the usual suspects") and the SX-1250 built by Paul of Many Moons Audio. I like the bass of the HK but can't imagine it comparing to the 1250. Maybe it is an unfair comparison as Paul upgraded my SX to the Nth degree. Now I'm either going to have to get a 730 or send the 930 to Paul. Seems like I can turn just about any thread into an excuse to spend money.
