    • Hello. I came across your thread on the klipsch 48 power supply issue and purchased the power supply you recommended for the repair. I was wondering if you could tell me in which order the the three small white wires go into the terminals on the new board as I can't tell in picture you posted. One has red x's one a red stripe and the other just writing on it. Thanks!
    • If I could do this with my center channel, I would love to compare to a "Jubscala" with K510.  This could be a real game changer for original Lascala owners.  Also, if the mid horn isn't that deep,  could this setup be a potential upgrade for Belle owners?
    • I am curious as to how the sound of the new active AL6 compares to the Frankenstein referred to as the "Jubescala".  I know this isn't an apples to oranges comparison, but I would interested in hearing what your impression/comparison between the 2.
    • whatever you decide... don't bastardize your AL5's. they are perfect the way they are.
    • Correct pressing the volume button on an iPhone once has the same effect as rolling the volume control, on the Three. Also note that adjusting the volume on the three's roller updates the iPhone dispaing the volume update on the overlay. Volume control is not continuous but rather in steps. And the volume change per step is the same regardless of what item is used to change the value it, this includes changing the volume in the klipsch app from the phone.
    • Look at what the price of the Forte III is now vs what it was before the Forte IV came out. Yes, one can 'upgrade' the F3 to the F4, but...  You might scratch around to find out what happened to the prices of the LaScala II when the AL5 came out and how much are they valued now. IMO, the prices might stay stable for a short time, but in time that price will go the other way.  The main difference in the prices of everything that seems to be 'valued' more is because the money is worth less.
    • When we were in Hope Roy discussed exactly how to swap the doghouse, it comes right out.......you actually can get a whole new doghouse with the 12" woofer and ports already installed as part of the upgrade package.  Or....you can leave the 15" woofer and doghouse as is.  You can op to just change the top horns and drivers.  This can be done to any lascala.  The new tweeter is much bigger and some significant routing and maybe even tweeter trimming would need to be done.  But it's possible.   If you chose to replace the top horns/drivers and the doghouse the only thing left of an AL5 is the outside frame and top hat.  It's really quite a job to upgrade to an AL6.  Several of us basically said just get the new lascalas, as you also mention.  By the time you try and replace the doghouse you may scratch the heck out of what's left and you have to hope the new doghouse matches the veneer you have.  Knowing what I know from being there, I would never try it.
    • I use my “Table Tuba”, as a table. Currently serving as additional vinyl storage. It would probably be ok to use for electronics, my TT is big and doesn’t transfer a lot of vibration, but some. It might cause some issues with CD player, and maybe the receiver over time?  I’d say that amp is enough. I’m using a 300w Dayton with my T18 in the family room, it’s more than enough, now that system rarely is pushed hard, so you might want a bit more power if you are rocking out. Room placement varies, but you’ll likely get more oomph in a corner, but try & see. Sometimes placement is dictated by the space & not always ultimate sound quality, blasphemy, to many, I realize.  Let’s see some build pics.
    • The AL6 comes with an internal crossover, the DSP crossover is an option. And then there is choice of using an ANALOG crossover (3 way of course) into the power amps.
    • Aside from low end bass response , how does the AL5  compare to the Jubilee. I do remember you mentioning the Jubilee having a bit less of a live sound. I think a lot of people would be interested in some comparison , like impact , detail and immediacy , for example.
