  4. Kinda just hanging while listening and not posting too much. Cranked out some Queen the other day, which worked to sooth the beast. Then last night my buddy decided to stop so had to step my game up just a bit. Love sitting back and watching his nonchalant reactions. First the foot starts tappin then his head and neck start to twitch, finally it's the death quiver! THEN he pops the question! Who was that? hahahahaha Hit him HARD w/the first lp. hahaha Lil John Mayall and his "No Turning Back" is just like most. First side slow and easy and side 2 reels 'em in. Kinda like fishin. They ALWAYS or most times swallow the hook. From 69 after the break up of the Bluesbreakers in 68. Do some research and see if ya know anyone other than EC who was in the Bluesbreakers. Talk about a line-up? This is from Bill Graham's Fillmore East and Mayall decided to drop the heavy guitar AND drums. Funny he was gettin his jam on midway thru side 2 before he realized there were no drums in the LP. hahahaha GOTCHA! Fantastic lp if you can find it. Next up a lil EC just for giggles and to let him listen and slow his heart rate down while he caught his breath! lolol Then right back up there while I kinda smirked inside! Finished him off with this one! He had to ask who it was Ahhhhhgain! lol He's a great guy and a good friend. He does a nice job on his guitar w/the guys on jam night. I just love workin on him though. Loves to play his head bangin rock loud n proud ALL the time. A real Jeff Healey kinda guy. On the stage lookin at the crowd thru a chicken wire screen while he plays.

  6. It appears to me that the forums no longer tolerate discourse. They allow select articles on select subjects..... but do not discuss them. Taboo content exists in just about every current news topic so very few qualify around here. For example posters can no longer discuss or post articles about The World Health Organization.... it has been deemed too controversial. Really. If you wanna stay abreast of covid19 just read the news and try to discern the real from the fake news. Posting here is sorta like doing a lighthearted polka in a mine field in a snowstorm. Behaving yourself has evolved to mean reading other posts and waiting to see if they survive.

Looks like a couple more last night so gonna go for another frigid walk up and down the drive soonish. Can I borrow that stick @grasshopper?

  11. Why is it the younger generation raised on internet and computers thinks the older generation raised on privacy and not trusting big brother are crazy when they find some intrusive program being slid in under the radar. These programs always to try and tell you they are helping you, making life easier. If the current state of affairs in this country and around the world are what constitutes making life better and easier. I personally would like an opt out button

  13. Source: https://www.stereophile.com/content/analog-corner-289-ortofon-anna-diamond-mc-phono-cartridge An amazing picture from a Michael Fremer, of a high end Ortofon mc needle. It is disheartening to see how dust is sticking to the stylus. This surely must affect the sound, unless they calculate it into it. This is a picture from the Ortofon website, showing the same needle, dust free https://www.ortofon.com/mc-anna-diamond-p-898

  15. I looked at it and it is a very interesting product. I live in Europe, Belgium. When I click on 'buy international' I immediately am diverted to the PayPal site. There is no information on postage and taxes/import duties. I contacted them for information about that. I don't want any unpleasant surprises afterwards.

  17. Klipsch minds if it's more than a name or an acceptable quote. I'm just a volunteer moderator. Go read the terms of service and tell me which term you are violating when you copy and paste an entire article. Like I said, it's not a big deal, we all need a reminder on it, DO NOT, please, copy and paste an entire article, including the copyright notice (which is like waiving a red flag in front of a bull). Attribution isn't the issue, I don't care if they are attributed. You are fine on fair use with a paragraph about a key point, or the intro paragraph with the link should always be a safe harbor. Then they do get the traffic, if the person is interested they will click and everyone is happy. Selling something isn't the standard for infringement, making a copy, whether you charge for it or not, is all it takes for infringement on a patent. With copyright it is technically copying and pasting any portion of a work. However fair use says that in a non-commercial context, like education, public discussion, etc. is "fair" and they don't have the right to complain. Thanks

  20. Quite a few people here own a pair of these and I'm one of them that can say, you would be hard pressed to find anything close to the performance for the $$. The DH1A's aren't quite the size of a frisbee, but pretty close. Wish you were close, I have people that heard mine and are hunting for them. I'm building a new home for a friend along with a band room/studio, and he keeps trying to buy mine and a devastator for his house system. Somebody snag these, you will not be disappointed. GLWTS

  21. Beautiful KLF-20's! Cabinets are in excellent condition with perfect corners and no scratches or gouges of any kind! (Pictures do not do these any justice, they look much better in person!) Grills are in excellent condition with both badges. Original feet. All drivers are in excellent condition with perfect surrounds, cones and dust caps. Upgraded Crites Titanium tweeters. Front to back internal bracing added above both woofers. Damping added to both mid and tweeter horns. You will simply not find a nicer used pair out there. Comes from a smoke and pet free home. Adult owned and listened to and always used with a sub so they never saw low end abuse! This was my dining room set of speakers, used mostly around the holidays to play old records. Garage audition available at time of purchase to verify correct functionality. Location: Illinois 60511 Price:$950

  22. True and it would scare me if was perfect, we could never expect that. To be honest I look the other way alot hoping some of the comments will change subject since nothing stays on tract for long. Sometimes it does and sometimes not, this makes me feel like I am dumping it other moderators, because I am. I have been here 18 years and have been helped by so many I have lost count. I wouldn't have what I have without all the advice and friends over that time. That is where the love is, and respect for those who go out of there way to help, and there are MANY here, you can see it everyday. It just get's aggravating sometimes, but it will be OK, everything works out one way or another. I say this because at 63 I have become selfish, only so much time left to spend it on silly things. I am going to spend my time on what I like to do and my family, In the long run no one else honestly really gives a crap anyway.

  23. Speak for yourself, I strongly doubt you know "they older paranoid generation" ( by the way that's your misspell not my older paranoid *** ) as a whole. You may know a few, and they may walk around with cell phones in there pockets. But for arguments sake you apparently agree that its bad to even use / carry a cell phone as it constitutes an intrusion of privacy. " the real big brother all the data points they would ever need " So then how can one be considered Paranoid or Crazy when one feels there privacy is being usurped ?

  24. Not really, the is not the news or part of it. And if it were to be allowed, someone will positively turn it political, it does even if is just little comments, then others reply if offended or not until it's political even when disguised.

  26. please read that thread again & maybe you will see your initial reply to the guy asking about 20+ year old speakers & sub amp clearly said-- "klipsch parts dept has all the parts needed 99.99% even the Heritage line -------they work with the serial number of the unit ----but due to COVID ----they have been hard to reach -" the word "current" is not in there anywhere & your comment implies that klipsch will have his 20+ year old parts 99.99% of the time. that is all i've been trying to say here. to keep quoting a different comment & avoiding the one this pertains to is just deflecting the fact. i give up... something mark twain said about being drug down to their level & beat with experience applies here. carry on.

  30. RF-7III's are not book matched, consecutive serial numbers only means that you got the luck of the draw. That's not the norm. It's only meaningful with Heritage.

  31. Agree, why not push the sofa to the rear wall ? I ran 2 channel for years and loved it, LaScalas Adding surround was something I did as project one winter out of boredom

  32. suggest that you raise up your speakers so the centre of the mid horn is centred at your seated ear level rather than tilting the loudspeaker which skews the stage and image in an unnatural way projecting sound from an unnatural location, either up or down has a similar effect.

  34. Yes Sir. I enjoy a small arsenal of diverse amps, SS and tubes (single ended only) Class D (yes in the SS category). Go full tubes, go full SS or mix and match.

  35. Hey hey hey!!! You have insulted the resonance of my center channel and I now demand satisfaction! 🤜🤓🤛 LOL obviously, I wouldn't take offense. It's a good question/comment. You can't tell from the picture but the 8" bed risers were a short term solution to getting my TV up over top the RC-64 III. Underneath the 64 III is a 3/4" thick closed cell soft rubber mat that covers the entire width and length of the speaker. You can see it a little better from this angle of my previous RC-64 Mk1. I put everything on rubber pads. 👍 😎

  36. @JefDC I use compressed felt furniture pads, you can get them in packs of a dozen or so - different sizes both diameter and thickness. work like a charm and only cost $2.00

  37. I now remember 'Owner of a Lonely Heart', which has this incredible, orchestral chord sample in it. Don't even know how to describe it! Neither does Wikipedia: " For the "whizz, bangs and gags" sound effects, Horn used the Fairlight (programmed by J. J. Jeczalik). According to musician Questlove, "Owner of a Lonely Heart" contained the first use of a sample as a breakbeat, as opposed to a sound effect.[23]" The three exisiting music videos are quite bizarre, I must say...

  38. In my experience, Klipsch Heritage speakers like to be placed relatively far apart. I would keep them in the corner, toed in at 45 degrees. For the reasons I previously mentioned plus to have a realistically sized soundstage width.

  39. Let me ask you some questions. Do you think that Mr K had nothing to do with tractrix? With steep slope networks? With wide dispersion phase plugs? With the horn loaded vented system?

  40. Either one would be a good choice but for an entirely different sound SE. The thing is one would have to spend much more for a SS amplifier to get the quality of sound in a tube amplifier. This is from someone who has 30 or more amplifiers at the present time both tube and SS. Most of my SS ones are First Watt clones which retail in the thousands. This one is highly reviewed. https://www.amazon.com/BOYUU-Hi-Fi-Stereo-Amplifier-Single-end/dp/B07L4GL63N/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=21ZGDGM8E1AZJ&dchild=1&keywords=tube+amplifier+stereo&qid=1611866460&sprefix=tube+amp%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFLRUFDVzM1REVTTEgmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAxNDQ2MTgyWlpTNjY1VzkzWUU3JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5MzU4MThNVFFTWEdONzVGMU0md2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl And for push pull consider this one. https://www.amazon.com/BOYUU-MT-34-Intergrated-Amplifier-Push-pull/dp/B07L3HQ425/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=21ZGDGM8E1AZJ&dchild=1&keywords=tube+amplifier+stereo&qid=1611866523&sprefix=tube+amp%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUVpCUE9WSzEzVTNHJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzI5ODIzRkw3TkVCOTU3QkoyJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5MzQ0MDIxUzVZNjlBSFNXOTM5JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
