  1. We had a partial albino red-tailed hawk named Cloudfeather at my old job. Seen here in a pic I took with one of our students c.2012 it was a lot of fun being in the flight cage as the various raptors would fly past.

  2. It's been unusually warm for late October for days, around 70F. I was in the garden all day, can´t remember that I had to mow the lawns again towards the end of October. With my Stihl blower I blew hundreds of thousands of leaves and thousands of acorns together into a huge pile , these lay on the driveway . With a wheelbarrow , there were 7 full carts, I brought the acorns to the feeding ground for our deer, they eat the acorns very gladly. In addition, I have dug up the large rose bed. That was enough for today . Yesterday evening I was playing table tennis for the first time in 4 years, I do this sport in my table tennis club for decades. I was amazed how good my reflexes still are. It was incredibly fun and have now decided to train 2 times a week in the club again. I also met a lot of old friends, they were really happy to see me again.

  9. Took a trip a little less than 300 miles north. The leaves were almost like a big box of crayons on the side of the highways. Woke up in Elon this morning to literally hundreds of chickens making noise about a quarter mile away. Was told they have two buildings full. Also @Invidiosulus heard there was a smaller than a couple years ago quake near Sparta again last night. Would put y'all closer than I was. I slept too hard to notice... felt that bigger4.xx in Charlotte back then.

  10. I set a woodland rat in front of my camera to see what would find it, and a Red Shouldered Hawk took and flew away with the rat. I'm surprised a bird of prey would take it as it was already dead, must have been hungry...

  12. The Idler sound for which many rave is certainly difficult to describe in words, you simply have to hear it. The drive develops a very unique "drive" as it is not achieved by any other drive. Idler drives sound more dynamic than belt drives. The term "Idlersound" is often used. Why does the idlersound so dynamic ? This is quite simple, due to the transmission method by means of a self-locking friction wheel between the inner plate and the drive shaft, no slip is possible and the entire torque of the powerful 220 volt motor is available at the plater.

  14. So they did...My next guess is they stopped because the curves on the Home Theater speakers are more jagged with deeper dips hence the term "8 Ohm compatible." Dunno but I love my original RF-7s.

  23. Well no Khorns this go around for me. Couldn't work out the terms with the seller, so I guess I'll just have to continue to suffer with Corns and LS's(and Bozak 302's, and AR3, and Allison Ones...)😁

  25. They came more white in color but I felt it looked a bit too loud in appearance so I stained them in brewed coffee for a day an hung them out to dry naturally in the sun. I wanted to match them as close to my Dynaco A10’s as much as possible. I’ll get the Klipsch badges next. Pic 1

  26. just out of curiosity, I took a db reading or two. I don't know how much credibility these online meters have..... at approx 40% volume, we're getting into concert levels....the 2 sites I tried gave similar readings Around about 120db at my chair. I tend to think these on the high side. Background/music off showed 60db... ...and I don't think 30W/ch will generate that much output. Yes, LS are very efficient, but still...

  27. Yes, I am concerned the left or right edge could not support the weight (or even be stable) on a dolly of some sort, in order for the 30.25" depth (back to front) to clear the 42" wide stairs and 31" doorway. If those edges can support the weight, it can be made stable on a dolly even if a holding jig has to be made. However, making a 180 degree turn on that 81" x 45" landing on a dolly would be a good trick. It would need to be removed, moved/slid into position on the second stairs, then re-loaded on the dolly while it's leaning the wrong way and sitting partially on the second stairs - the landing is only 45" wide while the Jubes are 50.25" wide, so it would need to be partially on the first step of the second stairs to make the turn. Manhandling for the second stair trip is the only way I can see will work. Also, anyone that has dealt with freight companies knows these guys will not deliver to your door or into your house. So if they are only shipped via freight, it will be up to the buyer to receive them from the freight company and transport home. Another reason to work with a dealer that will deliver and setup. That stairclimbing dolly is neat, I will remember that for any future use. I do massively analyze these things and will have a realistic plan before telling them to please take my money. Especially one that will cost me $35K. I will make the phone calls to determine if a path exists.

  30. I think that's a fair price as long as everything else is in good condition. However, check with Crites to see if he's got some replacement woofers before pulling the trigger. I'm a stickler for keeping things proper to the original design. The Forte I is a fantastic sounding speaker though so even if you have to pony up a couple hundred for new replacement woofers I think it's still a great deal.

  33. The problem is that the Jubilee bass bin is not a rectangle. The stairs would have to be over 50 inches wide to be able to place the back or front of the bass bin against the stair climber. A stair climbing hand truck worked well for getting my P-39F into my basement. However, it would not have worked if I tried that with my Jubilee LF since it can't be loaded on the truck sideways. Luckily, I kept my Jubilee on the first floor.

Berlin public transit 9 a month unlimited travel within a large area high speed trains included. Was in spain for soccer my boy plays at a high level. 39. If Klipch will really sell you a K-33 for $129.00 I would not look into reconing. You would probably spend close to that on a recone and then how do you KNOW the recone dude has real correctly made recone stuff to duplicate the OEM K-33? I have 7 K-45's and 48's in the scrap bin right now because reconing in Nashville is a big PITA and I have no assurance these woofers would be restored to OEM specs other then an empty promise. I have one of these old woofers on the shelf. Have to see if it is working and if it is you can have it for the price of shipping. I will get back to you tonight.

  40. As I mentioned earlier in this thread no way will I pay the $5500 that the seller is asking for the Khorns. With a great collection of speakers already, including pairs of ‘77 LS’s and Corns, I’m set. But if he’s willing to do some trading(willing to let my Corns and a nice McIntosh MC2120 amp go) plus a little cash then we can probably get something done. Unloading idle gear by trading for other gear I’m interested in is always appealing.
