It has been a while, but we have found a house, and our offer was accepted. This time it will not be a dedicated home theater, but a Home Theater/2 channel setup in our living room. The dimensions are approximately 19' w x 31' l x 30' h. The house is build of 1' thick clay brick covered in stucco, including the boveda ceiling (not sure how thick the ceiling is though). I just ordered 3 75' xlr cables for the front channels. The 14 channel amp will be in front for the time being until we get the new Synergy style horns made...at which time we will dismantle the 14 channel amp and make multiple 4 channel amps for all the active speakers. I am hoping to have 5 Synergy style horns, and use my old JBL surround speakers for atmos channels. We plan to have our turntable, and a stereo preamp for the turntable up front, but the rest of the equipment will be in another room(other than the speakers of course). I just ordered Roxul for my room treatments, and it should arrive some time after we move. Here are a couple of pics of the new room...2 points

If only PWK had incorporated Piezo Tweeters in his systems, the world would be a better place.2 points

The record companies would class the genre as soft rock But Twin Sons has power ballads as well2 points

Fogelberg & Weisman "Twin Sons of.." Power of Gold... Thanks for the memories @Full Range Got my guitar fix to start the tonights tunes. Early Stevie, another very good LP from Analogue Productions. That company has really impressed me over the last year. Clean club recording that was broadcast live that night down there.2 points

From ad: I have owned these for about 10 years and I honestly HATE to sell them, but I have 2 large bills due tomorrow. That is why these will only be posted for today. I have never ran more than 75 watts per channel through these and they still sound beautiful. You will need help loading them they are about 85 to 100 pounds each. They are cosmetically a 7 or 8 out of 10 and sonically still 10 out of 10 . If you are looking at these, you know what they are. Price is pretty firm. Come and get them before I change my mind. Sorry about the end table in the picture,we have a pretty small living room https://nmi.craigslist.org/ele/6613228404.html No affiliation.1 point

Cornwall II UNLESS your plan down the road is too make it part of 5.1 or some such system with LaScalas or Khorns... then all your tweeters and drivers (K-77 and K-55) will have the same “timbre” using Cornwall 1’s. The horns AND drivers are different in the two models. Not better or worse, just different. The mounting of the horns and drivers is different too. Flush mounted (CW2) as opposed to behind the motorboard (CW1). I have owned four different pairs of Cornwalls over the years and still have a pair of ‘85’s (last year of the CW1’s) in the bedroom. The difference sound-wise between the last few years of the CW1 and the CW2 are pretty negligible due to the (I think) better crossver (B-3) in the last few years of the CW1. I prefer flush-mounted drivers over those behind the motorboard (as with the CW1), but with the grilles on it lessens the sonic benefits of flush mounted. Grilles are for aesthetics... Listen to them both if you can and go with YOUR ears.1 point

It's merely zooming to the full res of the photo, whatever that may be for a particular upload. The forum shrinks it down to fit within the post formatting.1 point

The wall alone (above the doors) could make for a great screen too and you could use the loft as your seating / viewing area.1 point

I'd probably go with this option. Unobtrusive if making trips to the kitchen and also viewable while in the kitchen. Assuming this option is also for an electric drop down screen? Would hate to block those beautiful doors/windows with a fixed screen and that nice view while not in use. Congrats an the new home......beautiful!1 point

Yea soft rock for this guy is a little too vague for me. Also jazzy a little bit in places, and the flute sounding like fingers should be snapping while someone recites prose!1 point

Sunn was big in the '80s then Fender bought them and sold the brand until 2001-2002. I recently heard a band using Sunn PA boxes with the same midrange horn. Didn't sound bad but the high frequencies beamed pretty badly.1 point

Just tip the Khorns together so they are in an A configuration. Lay on your back & slide under that A. Turn volume UP. Enjoy! 😁 Math? This many feet, that feet... Pffffth...1 point

I saw that as well. Such a deal. The Epics are a great speaker and best many a speaker at several times their original Retail price.1 point

I think you just did the Klipsch community a public service. The original ad was so sparse with pics and information and add to that your experience with "no more pictures" and a "cash only" package I think that "deal" stinks to high heavens. It's not unusual to request cash, and the guy may be legit but I wouldn't pursue it either, Too many red flags.1 point

Just pulled up Twin Sons of Different Mothers on youtube. What genre could they fit in? They just heard good stuff in their heads!1 point

I remember these coming out. I don't think the company lasted too long but a few groups, mostly West coast, used them. They weren't very durable for road use. At that point in time it was a lot of $$$ and they just couldn't do what a pair of LS did in the home or on the road. For the $$$ you could pick up a pair of raw birch and beat the crap outta them! LOVE my raw birch w/a couple lil beauty marks... Takes me "home" to my safe place! 😎1 point

I picked this album up a couple of months ago and glad I did A conceptual double album is beautifully put together that covers life from birth to grave Very underrated release from a great artist that I first heard in the early 70s Artist - Dan Fogleberg Title - The Innocent Age 1 point

Phantom center configurations are underrated. I think that's because salespeople and the companies producing processor chips keep drilling it into people that you somehow will get inferior sound without a dedicated dialogue channel, while it can cause timing issues if you have them too close together - from experience. Comb filtering is another issue I've wondered about in tight-fit setups. Good thoughts!1 point

If you are trying to cut cost you can always trade in your AA crossovers to ALK to his Super AA's which are close to his cornscalla universals.1 point

Too lazy to do that. Just curious but not willing to put forth any effort to get an answer. Lol. Definitely don't do fakebook.1 point

Not sure how far you're willing to go with this but as Gil & John suggested - blowing more insulation in between the ceiling joists would help. There is a second alternative - if you're willing to put on an additional layer or two of sheetrock. Use Green Glue (not actually a glue) between the sheetrock layers and Green Glue Sealant along all the seams. Recent studies have shown Green Glue to substantial reduce bass transmission not just as a sound barrier, but also reduce vibration transmission laterally. I can act to some extent as a sort of bass trap. Make sure you follow the manufacturer's directions!!! It's important for instance to secure the first green glue sheetrock layer all the way through to the stud/joist.1 point
