  1. Many, many good memories. I snapped this photo of my boys with the boat in 2007. We had just eaten lunch at "Sneaky Pete's" restaurant, a thirty-minute cruise across the lake from our marina. This was a favorite thing for us to do on a Saturday afternoon. Of course, we would always spend the night on the boat before coming home the next day. Both boys are now taller than me.

  2. Legal here in California. I use it everyday...well, every night. I have four herniated disks, arthritis in my hip & neck -- have lived in pain for many years now. After my accident (i was ran over by a truck while i was walking across a major street) i was taking Vicodin and Motrin, and my stomach started bleeding. I generally wake up six or more times per night, many nights i wake up every hour. Long story short, the stuff helps me sleep and is far less harmful to me than the hard narcotics that the doctor was offering. Plus, it’s relaxing and puts me in a good mood -- so there’s the icing on the cake. I did NOT use it at all while my kids were still living with me.

  3. These "Chor-walls" are sitting in front of my 2-way Cornscala's. For now I am using the square magnet K-77's and B-3 crossover this pair of 84 Cornwall's came with. I have a pair of K-79's, a pair K-107-Ti tweeters and a pair of Cornwall 2 crossovers I MAY play with later. But for now, THEY ROCK! Classic Klipsch sound, loud and clear. Correction - even CLEARER!

  9. Just curious, how many people on this thread live in a state where MJ is legal? How many of us would feel OK using it if, it was legal? Oh, if you are wondering about me, the answer is no but, not based on any moral high ground.

  10. Hey gang, I need to sell my wall of sound. it is a re-worked MCM1900 system, with some updated drivers, and quad-amped. Comes with 3 racks of Crown K2 and K1 amplifiers, and all cables, turn key, ready to go. This is the commercial touring version of the cabinets with the metal edging, and fiberglass covering. This system has some history. 3 of the cabinets are serial numbers 1001, 1002, 1003. The rest come from Terry Hanley (The Bill and Terry Hanley of Woodstock fame) . I drove them across country to build this wall of Klipsch sound. Some of the artists Terry Hanley told me these toured with back in the day dropped my jaw. This system is so efficient that each side (Left and right) can run off of a single 20 ampere wall outlet. the Crown K series class-i amplifiers perform like power shock absorbers, able to deliver the deepest punch of EDM music to the subwoofers without significant draw on the mains. The current draw at rest is a steady 4 amps per rack , and even full tilt the system never goes over 15 amps per rack. At Burning man 2013 (Pictured) We ran this thing for 24 hours a day 8 days straight playing melodic psytrance, on a single cylinder pull start 4000W generator from Harbor Freight, and used less than 50 gallons of gas. Oh, and the generator was also running 2 full sized refrigerators, and half a dozen fans, as well as swamp coolers. All amps have been modified to disable sleep mode, and recently had their gain pots cleaned wth Deoxit D5. Removeable wheels have been added to the MWM cabinets and 8" air filled wheels are included. Includes: 12 MWM cabinets loaded with 2 Eminence Lab 15 drivers each, set up as subwoofers/LFE 6 MWMS cabinets loaded with Klipsch K48KP drivers, set up as mid-bass 4 MSSM cabinets loaded with McCauley drivers as midrange 4 MSM Klipschhorns loaded with JBL 2440 2" compression drivers 3 16-space amp racks containing: 15 Crown K2 amplifiers 4 Crown K1 amplifiers Pre-made speakon cable harnesses on rack plates. Rack covers convert to tables with built-in folding legs. All speakon NL4 cables, all 10 gauge 4-conductor SJOOW stranded copper. (All cabinets have been converted to use Speakon NL4 and are wired for 2-channels each with a switch. Rack mount PDU's with amp meters I also have a DBX DriveRack 4800 DSP available to complete the system. Accepting all reasonable serious offers. Located in Fremont, California, Buyer arranges transport. Currently stored in a 40 foot intermodal shipping container. Container is available. email: smashwolf@gmail.com for more pictures, and info.

  11. This is a pair of the DBB cabinets which were originally built by @Rudy81 about 7 years ago. (see build thread below). Rudy81 used them for a while and then they were passed on to @ThaddeusSmith who later passed them on to me. I had hoped to use them, but my ongoing health issues with my back, have kept me from doing anything at all. They've been sitting in my living room since I picked them up. And since I'm having to move from my house to an apartment, I definitely need to pass them along to someone else. These were given to me for free with the understanding that I would do the same if I could no longer use them. So that time has come... If you can come and pick them up, they are yours for FREE. EDIT: Since I'll be moving next weekend, these will need to be picked up by April 8th. If no one can come get them by that date, I'll take the post down as I'll have to move and store them. And they may not be at my new location. Please note, these are bigger (and a bit heavier) than LaScalas. So you'll need a pickup, van, truck, etc. to carry them. I'm in Grand Prairie (Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex), South of I20 near Carrier Parkway. I'm not able to arrange delivery to a packer/shipper, so please don't ask. These are for local pickup only. I also have a pair of LaScalas for sale... Please PM or reply to me here on the forum and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, Tony

  12. Certainly could be. And you could still be prosecuted under Federal law for cultivation, even with a state permit. Losing your CCP would be the least of your problems. If the state laws are at odds with federal policy, someone will be the guinea pig to see how it plays out under the Supremacy Clause and the 10th Amendment.

  13. If our new Attorney General enforces that federal law, he may be dropping a catalyst in the revolutionary soup that has been bubbling of late.

  15. John Paul Jones...the "American Revolutionary War Hero"...actually died and was buried in Paris...a couple of years after he retired to Paris...after serving as a rear admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy for a number of years. The U.S. Department of State was encouraged by the U.S. Department of the Navy to convince the French to exhume his remains and return them to the USA for eventual interment in his mausoleum at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

  16. It's going to be fine. Once you get them this will all be ancient history and you'll be all smiles. If memory serves me, when I ordered mine, there was 'about' a five week wait until delivery. Wouldn't have been so bad had I not sold my Khorns the day I listed them and Mark came to get them that following weekend so I was without anything in that room for about a month, giving my wife plenty of time to get accustomed to seeing no speakers in there (and (close your eyes Roy) not wanting any "ugly teenager speakers" to replace them) Felt like forever....but once they arrived, all was well (but for the wife)

  17. Finished the first round of cabinet work today. Used Howard's restore and finish with 0000 wool followed by Howard's feed and wax. The pictures don't give justice to the difference it made. My photo skills are pretty weak. The risers are in rough shape. Defientely took on some moisture at some point in their lives. I did the best I could - may decide to take another swing at the risers down the road. All that is left now is patching the passive woofer, deciding on badges (eBay original or buy new style from Klipsch???), and waiting for crossovers and tweeters to arrive from Bob Crites! Thanks for everyone's help!

  25. That is the crux of the problem; does he fix the problem and ask top dollar, or does he sell "as is" and reduce the price a hundred bucks or so? Many experienced Buyers want to go their own way with XO's so the non-working XO is not a deal breaker. There are other potential Buyers who want plug 'n play with fully working speakers. It's a 50/50 choice for the Seller IMO, personal preference. Mr. Wolfpack went the Full Disclosure route and chose to allow the Buyer to make his own decision. I think his openness and honestly will help him with a quick sale.

  35. Can't help with tube advice. But completely agree with not needing high power, when I first set up our yard speakers (split Lascala tops with mwm bottoms) I use a old T-amp, the cheap model powered by a little wall transformer instead of batteries. I was really surprised at the volume with less than 10 WPC, over 100 Db at 50'. Once I hooked a old HK 930 just for fun, it was shocking, you could hear the music reflecting off the pine trees on the side of the property 500' away. Any of the quality amps your thinking about should sound amazing in your house without ever reaching half volume. Can't wait to hear what you think with a good amp, you will look like this......

  36. To add to the turbo parts I've already posted... I bought many other things to start the build... Turbo, manifold, Inconel shielding, injectors, regulator, pressure gauge, manifold studs, intercooler, radiator, and the list goes on, but I still have more stuff to purchase as I figure out how I want to do things: So mostly what I got, was to work!

  37. K55 and K77 are identical to NON-INDUSTRIAL drivers. It is the woofer in the bass bin that is different. The "M" on the K55 identifies it as having a "mud" magnet....meaning it is compressed and baked from a magnetic ceramic "mud" slurry. Its predecessor was an alnico-magnet version of the K-55 driver. Your LSI crossover also has tweeter protection built into it...so that the tweeter will not blow under higher wattage Industrial use. But none of this has anything to do with "more power being better"...the opposite is in fact more truthful. ME?...if just being used for non-industrial applications, I would revert back to the K33 woofer. And I would opt for an amplifier that put out 100 or fewer watts RMS per channel for all channels driven. IOW...it you are running a center channel, or surrounds...they would be driven at the same wattage. Running a Subwoofer is a whole different story, though...unless it includes its own amplifier MOST OF THE TIME...you will be pulling way less than what the amp is capable of giving...no matter what application you are using the LaScala for....that is why you don't really NEED the high wattage to begin with on efficient speakers like LaScalas. 25-50 clean watts is MORE than enough! And...the speakers will likely not even use much more that 5 watts MOST OF THE TIME....and MOST of those watts will be going to the WOOFERS, since they will be the ones using most of it.

  40. That looks like an unsophisticated design with unrelated components thrown together in a box. A port should be more than a cutout with some chicken wire over it. Anytime you are selling a DIY home speaker project you have to sell the sound, which is hard to do. I think that speaker is worth whatever those components would sell for on the used market and that's it.

  42. Since this is now "This is me ride," I'll post another photo of my avatar. Note the SuperTrapp side pipes. Many a case of "Viper rash" from those. The car was so low there was no room to run the exhaust under the car. Even if there were, the hot exhaust would have heated the aluminum floor pan enough to bake the occupants, The Buick V8 exhaust note/pressure from the side pipes would set off the alarms in parked cars.

  45. The EQ built into the passive is for BEHIND THE SCREEN. You will have to modify the EQ, (add/subtract) with an outboard active EQ if the speakers aren't BEHIND THE SCREEN. You are on your own with this...except for the "help" from us nuts here. We are all audio experts!. No worries.
