    • So why dont Klipsch start creating large size subwoofers like in this video dont believe in larger size subs there you go Klipsch a epic idea.
    • I remember seeing his build threads here over the years he does an amazing job with cabinet construction / bracing etc IIRC he uses the Fatail Pro drivers in these for the horns- I'm sure they sound fantastic. That being said I do believe they are more or less premade DIY speakers with mostly off the shelf parts and I agree price seems really high to me. If you did through the forum pages you could probably find this build on here and an exact parts list. Here's a break down of the 3-way version:
    • Hoping somebody knows the actual ohm load for the K48-kp woofers that are in these cabinets. I bought a truck load of PA gear from an older gentleman primarily for these Klipsch cabinets and the convenience of running a full range signal for our smaller gigs. I am not looking for the ultimate in sound fidelity as we are your basic basement rock band who plays out occasionally. We have a slightly larger system with multi amps, active crossover... that can power outdoor parties. However the built in passive crossovers with the Klipsch is a nice way to keep things simple for the mains with less gear for smaller gigs, using electronic drums in lieu of acoustic kit and too many microphones. I have read everything I can find on these cabs and seem to find conflicting information, some swear they are 4 ohm woofers and others state they are 8 ohm. I found aftermarket re-coning kits which are 8 ohm, really not looking to do this myself and probably not worth the 200 - 300 dollar charge to have this done professionally (cabinets were definitely used and abused but were sounding pretty good after some fixing up, before I over extended the one woofer). I would consider replacing both speakers in the sub boxes with another brand driver and save the extra K48-KP for a just in case situation for the 3002's, but ohm load is my concern with the built in crossover in sub box. As the wrong driver will affect Hz and decibel level and could potentially create ohm load issues with power amp I plan on using. Both amps I could use don't recommend anything less than a 4 ohm load in std mode (Carver pm-1.5 or AB Precedent 900A). BTW all fuses in all cabinets were 20 amp( I've read that this was done at factory at some point? obviously way off what they should be. I was planning on using 2 amp for horns and 5 amp for woofers, any suggestions would be welcome. I know this isn't the usual post for developing the ultimate in fidelity, but I am trying to utilize these cabinets for our intended live band front mains.
    • I have a short movie of that
    • Hi i been on Blender and i came up with a Klipsch form of cinema loudspeaker, in Blender4.2 as a interest.  So i got the idea from MAG cinema like the MAG Tower, so the bottom part   the LF is 3 by 218 each 18" Klipsch form of subwoofer, the top part are a series of 4 x 18" woofers it was going to be 4 x 15" woofers and apparently yes woofers do come in 18s i always   thought woofers go up to 15 i found out those JBL 5742 cinema LCR that go behind the screen have Dual 18" woofers, now i was thinking how would i come up with a more improved HF   so Alcons for there HF they use pro riddon drivers also wisdom audio does to, and Alcon has the all powerful 18" pro ribbon so i craft 2 of them which would be 2X3000W in this new   form of pro cinema speaker stands 2800 mm tall so if got a home with a 3m high ceiling perfect, so why not improve Klipsch so i gave the gold Klipsch look at my invention, if stick   these in a home theatre 1 for front left and 1 for front right and 1 for the centre ch all goes behind the screen. its only a design a new innervation in home theatre.
    • In-walls are a bit of a compromise.  The 8000s would be a definite jump up.
    • I am within 15 miles of Lexington and I drive there every day. When can I see and hear them?
    • I can't agree. Justin's page about the Klamath offers more info than Ojas' and Klipsch's sites combined.    I said before I am not trying to bring that into the conversation. I brought up Justin Weber's Klamath because it was similar in size and price. I am willing to bet on the outcome of a shootout between those two.  (If I were to pit Weber vs Ojas vs Crites offerings, I know what pair I would buy... even before listening to them)    Let the price bother you if you want to. Although I agree with what you're saying, I don't care how much they charge any more than I care how much someone is willing to pay for them.  Looking at it from other's pov, most of us here have what most others would call absurd. They view the Heresy as too large and cost too much.
