      The 4140 was last ran when I fully tested and took photos of it.  It is for sale, just never got around to putting it up on youTube. And yeah on blowing Marantz gear up.  I had the QUAD receiver which was the 4140 with a radio.  It had issues. (long, interesting story).  Ended up getting a refund, and bought a PAIR of Marantz stereo amps.  Small one made in Japan for the rear channels, and the larger US model for the front channels.  It was FUNKY trying to enjoy quad tape recordings with TWO independent amps, but that was all they had back in 1973!   There was an A-B speaker switch on the front of the larger amp.  I was listening with  headphones at the time, and accidently hit the B speaker mode with NO speakers hooked to it.  Instantly FRIED the output transistors and a bunch of other stuff!  Happily, it got repaired no charge.  I still have the receipt with a rather terse note from the guy who did the repairs.

      Do you run the 4140 in quad? My 2270 is the fourth Marantz I've had. First one was in 1980, I can't remember the model. I was 14 years old. I crossed the speaker wires and burned it out. Then in the late 80s a 2230. Then around 2015 I found a working 1060 at a garage sale for $13.00! Used that one as a preamp for awhile.

      I watched a video on YouTube from SkyFi Audio on them. They sound like a fantastic speaker. I never liked to two piece look of the newer LaScala. And the price is way out of my budget. I'll stick with my 1990 version. It's been almost 25 years owning them!

      Side TWO on the Bullish album.  Well, I read through the suggested rules on the A&M FB group.  Had to RETRACT because they want members that have worked or recorded at A&M.   But, there was a very interesting photo of Carol King AND Karen Carpenter at the mix desk.  People in the group identified that it was during the 'Now and Then' Carpenter's album in 1973!  Pretty cool.   Anyway, center label.  (I have one more, I believe it is a RED translucent disc.)   Have a good day.

      Those look nice.   However, I wouldn’t insult myself by using someone else’s product name for something that I built and designed.   I also wouldn’t insult someone else’s product by using their name for a product of my own design.
